Ted Britt Ford and Karwan: Great Team I recently bought a Ford Ranger from Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax. Karwan Zewer sold me a new Ford Escape back in 2014. It was also the easiest purchase I had and at that time, my credit rating was really down south. Fast forward to 2020. I live in a different state but I decided to look for Karwan in case he is still working in Ted Britt. This is because I had bad experience in looking for vehicles in MD. He is in a different dept but still accommodated my wife and I. Now that I have a much better rating, it was easier to get a loan. But it was Karwan's taking his time to show me a vehicle I was only interested in and not what they need to let go. He was never pressuring to sell the latest and the greatest. What he sold me was what I was looking for in a vehicle. Brand new with every option I was looking for at the least expensive price. I was out the door with the new vehicle in less than 4 hours. It could have been faster, but I was picking his brains on what the vehicles can do and cannot do. I hope Ted Britt don't lose him as I'm planning to go back to him within 3-5 years when my 2014 Escape decides to retire. More
If I could give my experience with this dealership a 0, that would be too high. It was such a disgusting experience. It deserves a negative score for the mistreatment and verbal attack we were subjected to that would be too high. It was such a disgusting experience. It deserves a negative score for the mistreatment and verbal attack we were subjected to by the sales manager. Never in my life have I been verbally attacked, yelled at, insulted, demeaned, and called misogynistic names by a car dealership in my life when simply trying to make a deal and buy a new truck. I mean the guy had to feel like a fool after it all, since we never even raised our voices! After hours of having our trade in assessed, and trying to work out a deal, the creative accounting and “miscommunications” at the end led us to feel misled about the price of the new truck with our trade in, and when we simply asked how the number on the total loan amount had jumped so high, instead of an explanation, or trying to work it out with us, the sales manager Will went on the complete attack and was so defensive it was downright insane. Started verbally assaulting us. It was so unbelievable we didn’t even know how to react! When the general manager walked over, he meekly apologized as the verbal assault continued! When I called out the sales manager on his treatment of us and how disrespectful and downright unacceptable the way he was speaking to us was, he seemed to realize he looked like a fool and said “I shouldn’t have done that”. Phrases used among other were “it’s simple math” and “you obviously have never bought a new car before”. I was called “dear” multiple times in a very unwelcome tone. I honestly wish I had recorded the experience. I will never give Ted Britt my money if this is how they think it’s acceptable to treat prospective customers. Regardless of the “miscommunications” or “misunderstandings” of the deal, you do NOT verbally assault and repeatedly insult your customers. Disgusting. More
I was very pleased with my puchasing experience at Ted Britt As an older person and a woman, I was concerned that my car buying efforts would be taken less seriously and treated lightly. Mitch Sulkess was very As an older person and a woman, I was concerned that my car buying efforts would be taken less seriously and treated lightly. Mitch Sulkess was very helpful and patient with my concerns about finding a car that would meet my needs. The car also had to meet the many suggestions I was getting from my son who works in the auto industry in Detroit. Buying American was important. I thought there was a considerable amount of information available and just about the right amount of follow-up for current conditions. Buying a car in a Pandemic is a different experience. Mitch made me comfortable and satisfied with my purchase. My family had purchased a car from Britt many years ago. I'm glad I came back. More

I took my vehicle to 4 different dealership across the country to see if they could resolve the transmission glitch my car has had since new and no one was able to diagnose what the real problem is. 2 years and 30k miles later, Ted Britt's team was able to complete fix the issue and my car fees brand new again. Thank you so much. More
Dishonest title clerk, hidden fees, over charges for waranty I have uploaded my sales contract which you can view. Just google the above dealer, and look for my review in the google review section. Notice the I have uploaded my sales contract which you can view. Just google the above dealer, and look for my review in the google review section. Notice the charges for title changes - less than $80! The ridiculous $799 processing fee is on there - a fee that consumer reports say NO person should ever pay, and is only charge by dishonest car dealers. Note also that the Autotrader price of the vehicle - $12,100 had been changed to $12,900. Again, I maintain that Mark Wise changed all this while he was trying to "find our best price" for the contested car warranty. They (Ted Britt) has also had google delete the photo of Ford's prices for extended car warranty. Even proof that they are as dishonest as most car dealers, probably even more so. On the phone and in e-mails they have changed their story, and tactics numerous times. On February 22, 2020 I went to Ted Britt to trade my 2016 Rav4 hybrid for a 2017 Ford C-Max Energi. The dealership offered me $17,000 for the Rav4 Hybrid and their Autotrader price was $12,100. The car was clean, and ready when I arrive. I took the car for a short test drive, where it preformed as it should. I was then taking to the billing manager, a very shady man by the name of Mark Wise. Mark proceeded to pressure me to buy the extended warranty for the vehicle, even though it still had 2 years left on the powertrain, and 5 years left on the battery. He told me that the components on this vehicle were so unreliable that it would be foolish not to buy the extended warranty. My wife suffers from severe Parkinson's disease, so I had told the dealership I needed to be in and out as quick as possible. But Mr. Wise would take 15-20 for each "quote" he would give me for the warranty. Enough already, I was tired, my wife was sick, I just wanted out of their. He finally pulled out a figure of $968 for 2 years unlimited warranty which was - direct quote here "only $30 above our cost". As you can see from the included picture, that was a lie, a very big lie. Buying online from Ford, the extended service plan for 4 years is only $648. I did not have good cell phone reception so I could not check this scammers figures. (Update - Natasha Kapoor from Ted Britt said "we do not match online prices for the Ford Warranty" What? Same company, but they can't offer the same price that Ford offers this for? Looking at the above figures, $17,000 - $12,100, should have left $4900. If you include the taxes of $502 and their $399 dealer prep rip off charge, the difference would still leave $3999. (Update - The cost of titling a vehicle in Virginia is $49. Ted Britt actually charges a whopping $799 for title registration, so you are being screw for $750!!) I was told I would receive a check for $1600 (after warranty). I'll post a picture of the final calculations. The bill was padded in numerous places. I was just too weary to fit it. The bottom line is this: NEVER go to the dealership. They are swindlers, and they prey on the elderly, especially if, like my wife, you have mobility issues. My biggest regrets was not walking out of the dealership. More
Rip Off Ted Britt's service department broke the camel's back today. I needed a simple oxygen sensor replacement which should have been a repair that cost Ted Britt's service department broke the camel's back today. I needed a simple oxygen sensor replacement which should have been a repair that cost no more than $300 - $400. I was charged over $900. I was told the part was $300 over the phone. I reluctantly agreed to the service which I never should have done. After some internet research, the part should have cost about $40. For the privilege of it being a "FORD" part, it cost $274.38. When I confronted them that the part on their own website was advertised for much less, they said it's was no big deal and "I shouldn't worry about it". Upon reviewing the bill, I was charged $609.65 for labor. The funny thing was that the service Rep (Brian) called me about 90 minutes after I authorized the service to tell me my car was ready. When I asked why the labor was so much, he said that they charge "up to a few hundred an hour in labor". I guess it's more like $500 an hour. They told me the throttle body was in need of cleaning. I have had issues with them in the past "finding" things that needed to be repaired when I brought my vehicle in an today was no different. I am pretty sure that was BS too since my truck was showing no signs of typical symptoms of this being needed (i.e. it was not running rough at all and I had the service done less than a year ago elsewhere). I had the truck into them a month ago for a transmission problem and they did a full inspection and there was no sign of any issues with the throttle body needing cleaning. They somehow managed to change the oxygen sensor, clean the throttle body, do a state safety inspection in under 90 minutes, but the labor was over $600. Absolute rip off. I have purchased several vehicles from them and had my three Ford vehicles serviced there for years and I will never return. Their service department took a drastic turn for the worse after Gary Funk left and it has been the same garbage service ever since. To put the icing on the cake, it took nearly 30 minutes standing at the cashier to get checked out because they had a person working who had no idea what she was doing and had to call numerous other employees over to teach her how to print an invoice...more time wasted. I recommend trying ANY other dealership than Ted Britt as they fully live up to the prototypical dealership reputation of being slimy and a complete a rip off. More

Specifically, the car won't take any gas before the pump automatically shuts off (thanks a lot, Ford). I dropped the car off at 7:30 in the morning and followed up by phone at around noon (call went to voicemail). Finally, I got a call at 2:30 telling me that I needed to pay $1,500 to replace the fuel tank. I was surprised by the price of the repair so started asking the service advisor (Brian) questions about what was causing the issue and why it necessitated a new fuel tank. I also wanted to know if passing on the repair would present a safety issue. The service advisor couldn't answer any of my questions and told me that, "they read the code and the code says to replace the fuel tank." So basically, I waited 7 hours for them to read the code and mindlessly tell me to spend $1,500. I decided to pass on the repair and picked the car up. As one last pain, there was a huge back-up at the cashier causing me to wait before I flushed the $142 diagnostic fee down the toilet. I bought my car at Ted Britt Ford and was hoping I could rely on the dealership for top quality service. Instead, I was treated like some sort of cash piñata. I can take my car to any old service station for mediocre service, so I guess that's what I'll do next time. More

It was a great experience but Jon really was the one who made this happen. The salesman were great and helpful but Jon went over the top, showed me all the numbers, allowed me to put my own rate and terms in and try to get the best possible payment that I was comfortable with. I believe I worked with Jessica Zare in finance and she was very friendly and got me in and out quickly! So thank you to Ted Britt for another great experience! I will be back in the future. More
