These people are crooks. They took $3000 of my stepson's money and will not return it. So now he has no vehicle and no longer has his money for a down payment. He is 18 years old and needs this mo stepson's money and will not return it. So now he has no vehicle and no longer has his money for a down payment. He is 18 years old and needs this money. DO NOT deal with this dealership!!! I bought a truck from them in May and was just now able to get a tag in November. The title on the truck had inaccurate mileage reported. I was informed of this when I tr them in May and was just now able to get a tag in November. The title on the truck had inaccurate mileage reported. I was informed of this when I tried to get a tag the first time. I had to take an affidavit to them to correct the title. After numerous phone calls from myself and my credit union, trips to the dealership to speak with the owner, and finally filing a complaint with the Dept of Revenue they finally issued the correct title almost 5 months later!! Two letters from the Dept of Rev gave them around a total of 45 days to correct the title, which they intentionally used every day of. I ended up having to pay over double what my tag should have cost plus a traffic ticket for no tag. Did they care? Not at all! They actually told me it was the previous owners fault not theirs!! So there's the 5 month headache with the title and tag. When I first drove the truck off the lot my friend that drove me there called and said I had a headlight out. When I looked at them I noticed a bulb was missing. So when I brought the truck back to Swain to have my leather seats put in, they said they would take care of it. I returned to pick my truck up, they said they fixed the headlight, I drove it to work and noticed the bulb was still missing. When I called Swain they basically called me a liar. So if you like dealing with crooks and liars, this is the place to go. They are the definition of sleazy used car salesmen. More
Ive bought lots of cars from lots of Dealerships and Swain has a good hard to find collection of used Vehicles. They had the truck i wanted and was a good price on it and beat my bank on the interest r Swain has a good hard to find collection of used Vehicles. They had the truck i wanted and was a good price on it and beat my bank on the interest rate. A few weeks after I bought the truck, I had a issue with tire and they took care of the problem. They were very professional and I enjoyed dealing with them... The dealership is very easy going and didn't have a some sales manager they had to run back and fourth to make the deal. Very personable service. Thanks Swain.. More
I purchased a truck from Swain Automotive in September 2012. It was my seventh vehicle purchase in 3 years (for myself or various family members). And while I would never describe the process of buying a 2012. It was my seventh vehicle purchase in 3 years (for myself or various family members). And while I would never describe the process of buying a vehicle as fun, the folks at Swain were very pleasant to deal with. This was my first out-of-state, non-local purchase. I live 800 miles away, I saw the truck online, and as a result of not being able to test drive it or see it in person, I had several questions. They were very patient with me, very responsive and understanding of my concerns. I traded in my current vehicle with them as well. They went above and beyond what was expected in the transaction, as well as with handling issues that arose after the transaction. From my experience with other dealerships, they were very different in a positive way. More
Dealer has very nice vehicles that look attractive but is like all the rest when it comes to the stereotype of swindler. They buy vehicles at auctions, and flip them. They mask over problems to make you like all the rest when it comes to the stereotype of swindler. They buy vehicles at auctions, and flip them. They mask over problems to make you think all is ok and then don't stand behind vehicle. If you deal with them, they mark up prices to mark down (contrary to what they state). Guy I dealt with told me he was the finance guy but really he is the General Manager. His name was Sam Cavett. They didn't disclose prior damage and the damage they did disclose was not accurate. A word of advice is to go look at the vehicle, don't buy online and put your hands on it. Inspect it closely, for missing parts, keys, fobs, console, glovebox look everywhere and think before you buy. I have chipping peeling paint and these used dealers pay little money for someone to make it look better and don't care what happens three months down the line. More
Do not deal with Swain Automotive, they do not stand by their products!! Bought a car from them and written on the windshield was " NEW Tires, Rotors, Brakes and Oil Change. After having the Vehicle a litt their products!! Bought a car from them and written on the windshield was " NEW Tires, Rotors, Brakes and Oil Change. After having the Vehicle a little over a week I noticed a pulsating in the brakes but had to take a trip to Nashville from Jackson. I noticed the whole way there and when I drove back that the vehicle would sway all over the road when you went over 60 and had to brake. The monday I got back I had a flat tire and noticed that the Tires Where Mismatched!! There was also no spare so took it to Upton tires right down the street, they then informed me, not only had the wrong rated tires been on the vehicle but they were installed incorrectly and looked as if they installed them backwards to hide the tread wear (NOT NEW TIRES!!). Also had one tire that was the same brand but a different type installed. They also noticed the pulsating in the brakes and sure enough the front rotors where warped and the vehicle was unsafe to drive. So I had no spare a flat and warped brakes, all this was told to me to be new by the Salesman (Jonathan) and what was written on the window. Well I was told that day that they would give me their(swain) cost for tires, I was ok with that and was not going to complain about the rotors I had to replace. Well two days later when I tried to get the money I finally get a message from the Salesman "OK remember u bought car as is :)".... Talk about shady and not standing up to your word, stay away from Swain Automotive. I do understand I should have been more thorough in my inspection but when you are told NEW and it is even written on the car you don't think to have these types of issues. More
