The worst experience and poor customer service The service department completely took advantage of us. The service manager was condescending and rude. The worst experience and poor customer service. They attempted to repair things that weren’t broken which I believe was to defraud the warranty department. After 30 days they returned my son’s car with a broken AC. It was working properly with no issues prior to them attempting to repair his car and they refuse to admit they broke the AC More

I have be I must begin by stating I am a loyal VW owner and will continue to buy VWs in the future and tend to take my car to a dealer for servicing. I have begun to use Heritage instead of the VW dealership I purchased my car due to it’s proximity to my house and office. On Monday, June 25th I had a scheduled appointment to have my VW Tiguan engine light diagnosis conducted. I dropped off my car a little before 11:00 am and was thinking I should hear something back from Heritage by 1 pm informing me what needed to be done, by 2 pm when I did not hear from them, I called and was informed that they had been busy and had not gotten to performing the diagnostics on my car to find out what was wrong. I proceeded to call back at 4 pm, 5pm, 6 pm and finally right before 7 pm informing me that they still had not gotten to my car and hope to have it looked at by 10:00 am Tuesday morning. On Tuesday at 10:00 am no one had called me. I called Heritage at 11:00 am and asked for service and Christen the receptionist informed me that Gerrie stated my car still had not been reviewed. My car had been at VW for 24 hours at this point and I am not any more informed of what is wrong with my vehicle and I had to Uber around town for my evening and morning errands. I was frustrated with the lack of communication on behalf of VW. I question the value of making an appointment if my vehicle cannot be reviewed at the scheduled time. As a result, I Ubered back to Heritage and requested my vehicle. And even upon arrival Gerrie was busy, so I asked the manager Bill Kenny for the keys to my car and he told me that Gerrie is busy and I am like I don’t care I just want the keys to my car and I will take it to another dealer that has time to perform the diagnostics when scheduled and communicate with me timely. If you value your time, communication and customer service, you should not get your car serviced at Heritage. More

My advice is to steer as far away as possible from them! Find another dealer, whether it be out of town or even out of state. Do not risk working with this establishment, even if you’ve done your homework and checked out their reviews. Allow me to explain why I suggest this. My wife and I purchased a used 2015 VW Passat from Heritage Volkswagen. It was sold to us as an accident-free vehicle. They even provided a Carfax report that said it was had no accidents. Meanwhile, one our sons asked us to let him check out the vehicle before we purchased it. After a few minutes, he called back and told us that the web site advertising the car showed that it was involved in an accident. I quickly asked the salesman if the car had been wrecked. He only said, and I quote, “You saw the Carfax report. It shows no accident.” So, I left it at that. A red flag should have been that the salesman was insistent, for a week, to have us take possession of the car before our credit union had issued an approval for our loan. It took about a week to get it this approval and the necessary paperwork in order. Three times the salesman tried to get us to take the car. I refused each time because I didn’t want to get the car until I had paid for it. As soon as I received the approval from my credit union, I requested that the check in the amount of $ 17,216.00 to be sent overnight so that we could take it to the salesman and take possession of our car. I drove the car home (about 50 miles away) and it drove fine. However, when I drove it at night, the headlights were pointing straight down and it was hard to see the road. I called the salesman and told him that I was going to take the car to the service department for repairs but that I did think that I should be charged for the alignment of the lights. He told me that we would have to wait and see what the service department would say. He told me that he would call me later that day and let me know. He did not call me. I called the service department myself and made an appointment. On my way to the dealership, I tried to engage the cruise control but it would not engage. A message saying that it was unavailable kept popping up. So now I had two things to have them check. After three hours of waiting for our car, we were told that it would take many hours to repair. We were told that the vehicle had indeed been involved in an accident and that aftermarket parts had been used to repair it. These parts would have to be replaced to make both the lights and cruise control work properly. I was referred to the sales manager, who informed me that they had no idea that the car had been in an accident. That struck me as strange, as my son that lives 1200 miles away saw it on their advertisement ad of their website, but they “didn’t know anything about it.” He acted like he was truly trying to do the right thing and told us that it would be too expensive to repair the vehicle. He told us to leave the car and they would refund our money by paying our credit union loan. I agreed and signed the necessary paperwork. We left the dealership without the car and without a check for our credit union. We were told that it would by mailed right away so that we would not incur any finance charges. Well, my first payment came due and no money from Heritage VW had made it to our credit union. My wife called many times to talk to the finance officer but he was never available. She left many messages on his voice mail but he never responded. I then called the sales manager and he told me that as soon as we finished our call, he was going to go and see the finance officer and would call me in ten minutes. He told me that several times. The call never came. We had to make the first payment on our loan or face getting a bad report on my credit. We paid a payment for a car that we did not possess. The dealer was keeping the money from us. Finally, after about a month, they issued the payment to the credit union. Would you recommend myself, I am not. They are dishonest. You cannot count on them keeping their word and they care little about you and I! I remember, as a teenager, my dad asking me, “ Why won’t you learn from other people’s experience? I foolishly answered, “ I need to learn for myself. It’s my life”. There is an old Spanish proverb that says, “En guerra avisada, no muere gente.” The direct translation is, “People don’t die in wars they are warned about”. You have been warned about Heritage Volkswagen. If you play with fire, you are bound to get burn! Be safe! Facts: we paid $17,216.00 for the car on August 8, 2017. They finally sent two checks on 9-22-17 to the credit union in the amounts of $16,864.32 and $351.68, for a total of 17,216.00. I guess they where trying to pass as if they made the monthly payment which it would include the finance change. Does it qualify as a deceitful act? To make sure that report does not get bury behind others reviews over time I will keep reminding the public about this deceptive dealer. Hopefully, it will save someone headaches, problems and money! I wish there was a choice for a minus 5 star, I would give them that rating but that is not available. More
