Mr. Atkins, After reviewing the situation with the individuals involved, I would agree with you that we clearly dropped the ball. We need to treat all customers with the same high level of service, and not make assumptions as we did in this case. We should have treated your offer with respect regardless of how far apart we ultimately are or how realistic it was. No matter how busy we were, your offer should have been responded to before we left for the day. Concerning the attitude of our Sales Manager, I reviewed the recorded phone conversation between him and yourself. I wish he had immediately apologized for the lack of a timely response, instead of trying to justify why that response was not made, or even that his understanding was that we had responded. However, I strongly disagree with your assessment that his “attitude” was short or unprofessional. Our procedure for establishing a price on our Certified Pre-owned vehicles involves researching KBB, NADA, and actual vehicle listings in our area. We try hard not to price ourselves out of the market, but we try to establish a fair price right up front. That is not to say we will not negotiate, but an offer that is $4,000 -$6,000 less than the price we established is not going to get much traction and does not appear to be realistic. I apologize for failing to respond to your offer in a timely manner and appreciate you taking the time to complete the review. We will continue to strive to improve in everything we do. Damian S.
