Susquehanna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram responded

We take customer concerns very seriously. In this instance, the Assistant Service Manager and the Service Manager reviewed the situation including inspecting the damaged radiator. In the past five years, the only services we have performed on this particular Ram 1500, are oil changes, tire repair, and tire replacement. The customer had all other repairs, includes state inspections, and cooling system flush performed at another shop. The radiator could have been damaged either by failure due to excessive internal pressure or excessive external force. The damage could have occurred recently or had existed for a significant period of time prior to the beginning of the leak. The likelihood of customer’s claim that the damage was done during an oil change two weeks prior is extremely remote. When performing an oil change through our Express Lane, our highly trained technicians are under the hood for three procedures; one, to test the battery, two, check the air filter, and three to refill the oil. None of those procedures are performed with heavy tools or any kind of equipment that would be able to damage the radiator as seen. Susquehanna Auto understands the customers’ frustration of an expense to replace a radiator that failed and that the cause can not be determined. However, we feel very strongly that we were not the cause of the damage as the type of work that we performed and processes that are in place for that type of work would make it almost impossible for us to cause the damage.
