Sullivan Auto Trading bragged about the positive features of the truck but failed to acknowledge a multitude of other negative realities (rust on the body and extreme rusted components under the vehicle for example). I trusted this dealership to fully disclose the condition of the vehicle before I incurred travel expenses of over $1,200 total and agreed to pay full asking price. When I arrived to Virginia and looked at the vehicle, I specifically asked Will (the sales person), why he did not disclose the two areas of rust bubbling under & through the paint on the body (and he conveniently said he did not notice them). When I asked him to walk around the vehicle and thoroughly describe all of the imperfections on the phone, how does one miss two areas of rust? I got the impression that they did not care about accurately representing the vehicle as if they could get me to book a one way flight (as I did), I would give in and buy it no matter what they failed to disclose. I hope Sullivan Auto Trading will be more respectful to potential consumers that make such financial, time, & travel commitments to come check out a vehicle. I am grateful that I did not trust their description to the point that I had the vehicle shipped (because then I would really be screwed). More

My sales representative was Wil They were so understanding when I was running a little late for my appointment, since I was coming from Richmond, Va. My sales representative was Will. He was very friendly and he made sure I had plenty of time to test drive and look over my vehicle before considering purchasing it. He was genuinely attentive to any concerns I had about the vehicle and was willing to do his best to get them fixed. I am very pleased with how the process went from start to finish to include how efficient the financial manager was in getting me the best monthly payments with my credit history. Thanks for a job well done. I left with a big smile on my face. I highly recommend Sullivan Auto Trading! More

One of the SUV’s we had looked at would not even start, and when I lifted the hood the battery terminals were cover with a buildup of sulfur. They have a standard $439.00 processing fee that is also nonnegotiable. I had test driven one of their SUV that my wife and I had liked. When we return, and sat down to talk to the Sales Rep about the vehicle which was listed for $6,988, he stated after their $439,00 processing, and taxes, and tag fee’s the total would be $7,778.00. I stated I was a six plus years Honorably Discharge U. S. Marine Corps Vet, and a retire Law-Enforcement Sergeant on a fix income. I had been preapproved by my bank for a loan of $7,500, and asked the Sales Rep if they would consider dropping the price to $7,500? The Sales Rep said no that they don’t negotiate or haggle on their prices. This is surely a sad day when a Car Dealer won’t consider dropping $200.00 off the total price of the car for a Military Servicemen/Law-Enforcement Sergeant. More

We had the vehicle checked out by our service garage and they found many problems. When we brought them to Sullivan's attention they were upset that we taken the vehicle to be checked out. We took the vehicle three times to be serviced and exhaust, muffler and tire among other things. We were told they were fixed. They said, every thing passed inspection that is done in their garage. We continued to have problems and took it to our garage service provider and found out nothing was done to the vehicle. At that point we called the State Police who cited them this meaning they passed a vehicle that did not meet state inspection requirements. We contacted the BBB knowing that once we did this that they would fix or reimburse us for the repairs. That was June, July, August now September. Austin calls and ask what he can do to make things right that they pride themselves on customer service. I faxed the information, and confirmed with him that they received it and was assured that it would be taken care of and that they want their customers to be happy. Well, that was two weeks ago. Nothing has been done. We are very unhappy and want those who think about buying a vehicle from them to beware. Don't make the same mistake we did. More
Worst Used. Ar Buying Experience Purchased a 07 Lexus in May and its August. The car has spent 3.5 weeks in their shop. Yes, they try to make good. But, now it's getting ridiculous Purchased a 07 Lexus in May and its August. The car has spent 3.5 weeks in their shop. Yes, they try to make good. But, now it's getting ridiculous on how many issues have come up. First thing was a oil and transmission leak noticed within 15mins of getting car home. Took in and they said it was power steering pump. So they replaced. Nope...wasn't that. So still leaked and took back and it sat on their lot for a week because they forgot about working on it. Finally the mechanic said he fixed it. So brought home. Two weeks later it was leaking all over again. That mechanic had only used sealant around leaks and didn't fix issues. So then they said all seals needed replaced. Well 2 weeks later, we went and pick up car, there was a huge scratch on front bumper, my change/money was missing from holder. Three CDs were gone. So once again we took back to get bumper painted. Yep, they painted.. Color doesn't match and my parking sensors fell in. My husband looked under car to push sensors in the hole. Well...apparently the body man that put bumper back on. Broke the clips and used yellow painters tape to tape it in place. That didn't last long. Well, yes we aretaking car back in for them to fix that issues. Yes..they have tried to fix the car.. But it's been alight are and I hate the car!! More
Hucksters??? Facts: purchased a 2008 BMW 328i on 5/29/15, for $11,437.04 - 100,826 miles. Since purchase, have spent $3,602.74 to correct major problems with this car. Most recent repair by the top BMW dealership in Richmond noted the following: "found right rear wheel bearing to be worn out. rotors to be incorrect for vehicle. as well as axle on right rear to be aftermarket as well as ill fitting possibly causing bearing failure. found both output shaft seals to be leaking at rear diff. replaced bearing, axle, rotors and diff seals." Net/net, I believe these guys are hucksters and cannot be trusted - can't prove they are at fault, but seems very strange that all problems would occur just beyond their 30 day/1000 mile warranty. Suggest any purchase from Sullivan be inspected very, very carefully. As for me, I'll loudly and longly advise everyone to avoid these folk. More

The Carfax report was solid except for a minor fender bender. The only thing that was a little questionable was that it was short. Over the past year there were many little issues that popped up on it - which isn't the fault of Sullivan's. It had 72,000 miles on it when I bought it and it was easily the best priced car in the area - and I was on a budget. The heat and AC stopped working recently, so I took it to a mechanic and they couldn't figure out the problem. I took it to another one and they also couldn't figure it out and they recommended I trade it in while it was still running because online it seemed to be a common issue in Nissan Sentras and could cause a problem in the long run. The Kelley Blue Book value for Good was ranged from $2,600 - $3,100. When I brought it to the dealership to trade in, the salesman came back with a Carfax report that was significantly longer than the one I had seen through Sullivan's website. This one had much more detail and included a large accident that the car had been in that caused structural damage. This really lowered the value of the car. I am very disappointed in the dishonesty of Sullivans. This ended up costing me about 4,000 dollars and a higher car payment on the new vehicle. I likely would never have even purchased the vehicle at the price I did had I known about this. Sullivan's does have good prices, but I doubt their integrity and therefore I cannot recommend them to anyone! More
