I purchased an 01 VW Golf for my daughter in grad school. I found the car on auto-trader, called and went to see the car the next day. We traveled about 50 miles to the lot in Charlton. It was a quick and easy decision. They let us drive the car to Paul's Service center in Southbridge to have it evaluated. There were just two small items (a missing spare tire and a broken exhaust clamp) which were quickly repaired and we took delivery the next day. The buying experience was unique. The small town trusting attitude made the experience very laid back. The lot is no frills, so you aren't paying for a fancy showroom. There is no F&I department, so you can expect to do the financing, insurance and registry legwork yourself, but the savings make it worth while. You won't spend a lot of time closing on the vehicle since there is no "add on" high pressure sales gong on here. The price they tell you is just what you will pay...no hidden cost...what a concept! We got a good quality low miles vehicle at a very good price. The car will last my daughter for years while not costing a fortune. More

I brought it back a week later with some issues and they fixed it without any charge very quickly. There was a bigger gentleman with a great personality named eric who sold me the car in a lot called baystate where they had over 50 cars! More

I am a CT resident and I recently waas in the market for a good inexpesive used car, a friend of mine refered me to Sullivan Auto Sales. The moment I got there Bert greeted me with an excited "What's cookin'". I felt extremely comfortable from that moment on. They catered to my every concern and when I did purchase my vehicle, they were even nice enough to let me use their dealer plate to get the vehicle home. I did have one small problem with the vehicle and when I called Bert he told me to bring the vehicle back as I could and he would take care of it for me, which he did promply, and when the repairs were finished they even went so far as to deliver the car to me. I had a wonerful experience at Sullivan Auto Sales and will deffinately be doing business with them again in the future. More

I went online looking for a good used car for around 5000.00 and found Sullivans Auto Sales with around 30 cars to choose from. I went to this dealership on 3 different trips and thought that they were going to loose their patience with me. Every visit was amazing. I finally found a volkswagen that I fell in love with. The car was a one owner with all the service records available. When I went to pick it up I forgot my plates to drive the car home. Tom was wonderful in lending me a dealer plate to drive it home, cause if not I would have had to drive back to Danberry CT to get my plates. I mailed the plate back immediately. Tom was a very wonderful and easy person to deal with. Tom had the paperwork ready for me when I arrived. My experince with buying a car from Sullivans was terrific. More

ALERT: If you are an out of state buyer, you must reconsider buying a car from this dealer. Because Connecticut does not have a safety inspection, they would not complete repairs that my mechanic considered serious safety issues. 1) After leaving the dealer, the clutch failed after driving approximately 60 miles (this was newly installed by Sullivan). 2) Items identified by my mechanic: Right front axle was not properly set into the trans axle and was leaking, fuel line was leaking, brake lines were severely rusted, battery was sitting loosely in the engine compartment. 3) The dealer towed the car back to their facility to correct right front axle, and other items. When "repairs" were completed, I brought the car back to my mechanic to find the right front axle seal was leaking and the trans axle had not fluid in it. The fuel line was replaced, but the brake lines and battery bracket were not. During a conversation with Bert, he didn't couldn't confirm what was done but insinuated everything was taken care of. He also insisted that I was not following the law, because they needed the list from the inspection in order to make repairs. More
