They tried to rip her off and over charge her for the car and added in a bunch of hidden fees to her quote. When she left the dealership to buy from another subaru dealer in Temecula her salesman from Ontario Subaru started texting her rude derogatory messages, calling her names and cussing her out for leaving. I just recently went to Subaru Ontario to test drive the WRX because it is closers to where we live but I made it clear that we were going to buy from somewhere else if I liked the car because of the experience my sister had with them in the past. I sales person assured me that the staff was now different and things are better now at Ontario. We sat down and longer story short nothing has changed. The total they had me down to finance was 56,000 dollars with all kinds of things added in that I did not ask for or want. I have bought and owned 11 cars from various dealerships. Subaru Ontario is by far the worst buying experience. More

Due to his great enthusiasm I'm much more excited about owning a Subaru. My initial visit was to check out the new BRZ which I had a ton of questions about. I was dead set on making a deal for a Limited BRZ which is a couple thousand more than a Premium BRZ. Thomas broke down key differences between both models and helped clarify that the Premium is the better choice. It's unfortunate that I'm unable to make a deal tonight due to me being way too underwater in my disappointing Corolla :(. When I'm in a better position, I will be back to see Thomas again. Thanks again bud for such a memorable experience! More

Hopefully this review can save you some trouble if you're considering a purchase from this dealer. I sent an online inquiry from one of the car pricing websites and received a response from an internet salesperson at the dealership. We corresponded about pricing and options and she informed me she had two cars in stock, one black and one dark gray. The following is the actual email I sent to her confirming the quote (I've blocked out the pricing): "Also, just so I understand, the quote would be as follows: Legacy 2.5i Premium PZEV = $xxx, Eyesight + Blind Spot Detection & Rear Cross Traffic Alert = $xxx, Leather Seating = $xxx, Total = $xxx." The following is the actual email response she sent back to me (I've blocked out the pricing): "The price you suggested below is correct according to the email quotes that are sent out. The only thing that it does not include which I always mention to my customers is the destination charge of $xxx. So it would be $xxx for the vehicle itself + $xxx for destination = $xxx + $xxx Eyesight, Blind Spot, Rear Traffic+ $xxx for leather = $xxx before taxes and fees." I told her I was happy with the quote and that I'd take the black car. When I showed up to the dealer, the car they had waiting for me had navigation, moon roof, something called rear bumper applique, and a few other options that I wasn't told about, didn't ask for, didn't want, and increased the price significantly. When I pointed it out, they told me I misunderstood the quote. So I pulled up the email chain above. Then they tried to offer me a different car in a different color that I didn't want. When I refused that...surprise, surprise...the sales manager came out. We went around and around and he finally came to the point where he just flat out told me the quote was a mistake and he wouldn't honor it. He was rude and unapologetic about it as well. Do I think this was really a "mistake"? I have no way of knowing for sure, but I did a google search on "car dealer bait and switch" and thought I was reading a recap. I've drawn my own conclusion; you can draw yours. I wish I could direct you to Honest and Ethical Car Dealer X, but I can't. What I can do is save you a trip. If you live in LA and are considering making a trip to this dealer because they offered you a straight-forward, hassle-free quote--what you actually get may turn out to be neither of those things. Stay closer to home. You'll probably still have to deal with shady sales tactics, but at least you won't be subjecting yourself to a few extra hours in traffic to do so. More
Run for your life!! My experience with this dealer (Ontario Subaru) and the Subaru company has been a total nightmare!! At first it was great, when the service manager was Mark, but then he was fired and I got Zack. Whatever I asked for, he said NO! Nine times… I counted… I was so shocked! So I pretty much stopped bringing my car in… for about a year! One day I noticed my window washer tank was hanging down (I think I had mentioned this to Zack, as one of his “not our problem” NOs), so I drove to the dealership and met Brian, who was adamant that everything was my fault. When I took him out to my car, he threw his hands in the air, yelling about the condition of my car (which I thought was pretty good) and he wasn’t even looking at the problem. When I finally showed him the tank hanging down, to my surprise, he just grabbed it and started yanking. This went on for 10/15 minutes, till he finally got a mechanic who unbolted the tank. On the drive home my air-conditioning went out. I called Brian, who was adamant that I should take my car to “a private shop”… this while my car was on warrantee. I insisted on bringing it in… and met Zack! He stamped “WAITING” on my form and three and a half hours later told me they had to order a part (I have no doubt it took the mechanic 5 minutes to figure this out)… but wait… he had to do paper work with a mechanic, so I had to wait another 30 minutes!! On the way home, I noticed a clanking sound coming from the right front suspension. When I came in for the AC part, Matt determined there were some broken bolts there, and if I waited he would fix them. Great! When I came back (from “Starbucks”) he showed me the replaced bolts and bushings and pointed out that a stud from the frame, which should be solid and rigid, had come loose and I should “get someone to weld it… but everything was fine!” On the way home, it did not feel fine, and in the driveway, the same clanking sound appeared! (I called Primitive engineering, where Paul was good enough to describe that the nut on the frame that held the stud was bad!) I called and got Jerry, the first grownup in your service department! (My perception of your service dept. is of an elementary school, where I’ve been sentenced to take abuse from all the children. Zack’s NO NO NO and making me wait an extra half hour is just 6 year old behavior!... not to mention Matt’s “everything’s fine". Rude? You bet!) Jerry said to bring it in, and the ride down there was scarier then going over a waterfall in an inner tube (I know). Now they’re supposed to be welding it up, though I called Matt and he put me on hold for a half hour, till I hung up. I explained all this to salesman Vince and to the follow-up secretary (“I’ll sue, I’ll sue”) but heard nothing. I thought of stopping payment, but they said “Fine, that’s the banks problem!”… Though I guess it may still come to that! This was my first new car, at the age of 70. I live in the sticks and must have a car, so now I’m renting another! (Loaner?… just gave it out!) I thought this was going to be my plea to Subaru for help, but I see it’s also going to Ontario Subaru… so I say to both of you, HAVE SOME INTEGRITY!! THIS WAS THE EVALUATION I SENT TO SUBARU CORP. AND SUBARU ONTARIO-PRAY FOR ME! More
This dealer tries all the petty sales tactics. I asked for the price breakdown and I got attitude and the run around. They tried to sell me a useless extended warranty and useless gap insurance and kept for the price breakdown and I got attitude and the run around. They tried to sell me a useless extended warranty and useless gap insurance and kept trying to focus on monthly payments. I wanted numbers and all I got was fancy footwork. If I wanted to be swindled this is where I would buy. Exactly why I walked away without a new car. More
We bought our Impreza in May 2012, and have been back for accessories and service. This is the best dealership I have ever done business with. They are like family to us.
