BE WARNED!!! You do not want to buy a car from this lying bunch of con artists!! I purchased a used Passat Wagon from this dealer on the pretext that the unusual array of issues with my current VW lying bunch of con artists!! I purchased a used Passat Wagon from this dealer on the pretext that the unusual array of issues with my current VW were unheard of and "atypical" for a VW. Trade it in they said, "you won't possibly have another VW with the amount of problems you are having". So I did, and what do I have now....a car that had to have the engine replaced at barely 6 months of ownership(@55,000 miles)due to RUST?! and now the SECOND engine is bad after just barely 50,000 miles with it, not to mention the constant problems i've been fixing ever since i've owned the car! Was it "certified preowned", no, "you don't need that they said, that is just a $3,000 extra sales tactic. And when I try to talk to anybody about the issue they pass the buck. Ultimately, they sold me a piece of junk and could care less about the consequenses it's had on my end. If this was any other type of business, they would not get away this kind of lack of customer service & loyalty. What gives them the right now?! Again, don't give your business to these low lifes or the VW corporation for that matter. If you aren't one of the lucky one's who end up with a VW with no problems, you are in for a mountain of debt and frustration at a vehicle that is worthless. More

The air bag warning light on my 1997 Volswagen Cabrio would come on intermittantly. James Ahlstrom and the service techs at Stokes Volkswagen in N. Buying a car seems to always be a stressful situation. The folks at Stokes (Tumpie and Phil Tackett) were extremely friendly and personable. I really felt like they wanted me to leave with the car that best met my needs and a price that I could feel comfortable with. I did buy and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. However, if I had not bought I do believe I could have walked out the door still feeling comfortable with the option of coming back at another time to shop again. They offered me a courtesy car to use while the parts were being ordered which was totally unexpected since my car was no longer under warranty nor had I purchased it at this dealership. Prior to visiting Stokes, I would have never considered purchasing another VW but after receiving such outstanding service I decided to trade my car in on a new Touareg while having the repairs done on my car. Great overall experiance! I was up in the air on what I was going to buy so I went to a local Chevy dealer first. The Chevy dealer gave me a low ball offer on my trade and really surprised me being I boug was going to buy so I went to a local Chevy dealer first. The Chevy dealer gave me a low ball offer on my trade and really surprised me being I bought 2 new cars from them in the last two years. I haggled with them for almost an hour and got fed up. Decided to go with my second choice and called Stokes to see if they had the car I was interested it. Low and behold Abbie Told me She had a Black on Black TDI in the showroom. I left the chevy dealer and drove right over. I got to Stokes at almost 6:30pm on Saturday tossed my keys to Phil and asked him to get me an appraisal on my trade. I then started looking at the car I wanted to purchase. Stokes first offer on my trade was better than an hour of hassle at the other dealer so I decided to start working a deal. They came at me with an offer that I would have taken no problem but decided to counter anyways (Because I don't feel right just accepting the first offer). Phil told me he would have to go talk to someone else about the offer but assured me that he would be right back. I was very happy to hear they accepted my counter offer (talk about hassle free). Next, I was off the the finance manager, and he did a great job too, offered the typical stuff but never pressured me all I had to do is say no thanks and we moved on. I was done at the dealership and driving off in my new Jetta TDI (that had to be taken out of the showroom) at around 8pm. I have no complaints More

When I went into the dealership I worked with Phil and he was extremely friendly and made me feel very comfortable about the whole process. He didn't waste my time or try to talk me into something else. He ran the numbers and worked with me to get the payments exactly where I wanted them. In just a little over 2 hours I was driving home my brand new car! Best experience I have had at any car dealership. They are personable and very efficient.
