The service is terrible and management even worse. I have taken my car to be serviced 3 times in the past 3 months to no fault of my own (factory issue). After purchase, the service team has been NOTHING but trouble!!! They have provided sub-par service, delayed repair work, and ultimately damaged my car and refused to cover repairs that I had to have don trouble!!! The salespeople aren’t terrible but still lie like any dealership. The service department is entirely incompetent. They tried to shake me down for a $300 diagnostic fee for something they failed to fix th dealership. The service department is entirely incompetent. The guy said “oh it’s 2019 not 2016” after 7 hours of refusing to fix the car. I wasted half that time on the phone with a lawyer because Mike, their technician, can’t read. Literally the dumbest people I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Totally incompetent all around. Can’t read, can’t tell time, can’t remember anything they said 30 seconds prior and certainly can’t do their jobs right at all. This is literally no joke, I actually believe they have an IQ of under 70. I thought the school system was bad now but I can’t imagine how bad it used to be for such a low level of consciousness to exist on such a scale. That brings me to another point; how did these people get jobs without the ability to fill out an application and why are the mentally handicapped workers more concentrated in car shops across Charleston than grocery stores in general? Pretty concerning. More

I brought my car into the service department after receiving an email regarding scheduled maintenance. The service representative did not explain any details to what services would be made. He only asked if I wished to have tires rotated at an additional cost. I accepted and instructed him to have the front riverside tire examined as I had noted an odd gash on the tread. After examining, he stated that the belt was comprised, thus it presented a safety hazard, requiring replacement and I would be charged for a new tire because the damaged tire wasn't leaking air. Regardless if this is a VW or tire manufacturer policy does not resolve my dissatisfaction with Stokes VW with this event. This car is a 2020 version and purchased from Stokes less than a year ago, therefore, the tire had less than 18000 miles. Subsequently, I strongly feel that the tire should have been replaced at NO cost to me because it looked more like a defect than road damage. Again regardless, This is the 3rd vehicle I have purchased from Stokes and expected much more in terms of customer satisfaction from your dealership. Needless to say, I am a very loyal VW customer, however the next VW purchase will be at another representative dealership, unless yours makes restitution. Furthermore, I will post this response on social media. More

Very poor service. Sold me a new Tiguan with multiple defects, and they could not fix them. Car had defective camera, have made multiple trips there to try to resolve it. Sales and Service managers bot defects, and they could not fix them. Car had defective camera, have made multiple trips there to try to resolve it. High pressure and greedy I'm not sure how two dealers who are under the same owner name can be so different but Stokes Mazda is right across the street from VW and is way bett I'm not sure how two dealers who are under the same owner name can be so different but Stokes Mazda is right across the street from VW and is way better. I went into Stokes Volkswagen looking for a used Tiguan. After driving one I expressed a little concern at the price to mileage ratio, I either needed something cheaper or with fewer miles. They must have thought I said I wanted something with zero miles because they kept asking if I wanted to buy a new Tiguan even after I said I couldn't afford one. They never showed me something with a lower price, it was up sell after up sell. They kept trying to get me to consider $20,000 and up even though I said I couldn't do that much. The sales team were also very aggressive about hanging onto the keys for my trade in. I didn't get them back while we were looking for other options and even after I specifically asked for them back the sales person put them down on his side of the desk. I had to reach across and take them. They did everything they could to make me feel trapped and stuck while they pressured me to buy a brand new car.They weren't willing to do anything about their prices and made zero effort to actually find me something I could afford so I went across the street to Stokes Mazda and they took great care of me. Love my new Mazda! More
