Brake light switch recall. Very dissatisfied with the service. As someone who takes pride in doing the majority of their own car work, I know many of the common things that nee Very dissatisfied with the service. As someone who takes pride in doing the majority of their own car work, I know many of the common things that need attention on a vehicle, a recall is something though, that I trust a dealership to handle appropriately. The morning my car was getting the recall work done, I got a phone call from the dealership saying that I had two lights out (brake light, and license plate light), my oil was "low and burnt", and that my inspections was up. I said their is no way any of that is wrong, besides the inspection which I was scheduled to get elsewhere, because I double check my cars before sending them to a dealership. Upon picking up my car, I told the individual that if I take my car home and find nothing wrong, that I will be writing a bad review, so here I am writing a bad review, because like I suspected, nothing was wrong with my car. When I got home, it was actually my driving light that was out, not the brake light. Turns out it somehow got loose, along with the license plate light. I find it very strange that they worked when I dropped it off and then somehow got loose, and appear not to work. When I put the two lights back to how they're supposed to be, they worked fine. Further, upon checking my oil, it was not low, nor was it burnt. It was right at the fill mark on the stick, and looked/smelt like typical synthetic oil with 3,100 miles on it, which doesn't need changed until 5,000 miles. The real kicker is that on the multi-point inspection sheet, my brakes were marked as green, meaning they were in perfect working condition. I knew for a fact they weren't and would actually fail a state inspection. So either the brakes weren't checked or the dealership wanted to do my inspection for another quick buck because they knew the car would fail and then try to sell my overpriced, junk brake pads, without turning or replacing my already below spec rotors. I replaced my brakes and rotors and will be getting it inspected at a non-dealer shop that I can trust. Thank you for yet again reinforcing why I don't trust dealerships to work on my car. More
