We like it because there is no pressure from the dealer and you know going in what the price is going to be. Every car we have bought there has been great and they have been great to take care of the little things we have needed on them. We have referred a neighbor to them who has purchased three cars there. They were also pleased with the service. I definitely do recommend this company. More
Response to the "wrecked car with a bullet hole review" Interesting response to my review. Bought the car in 2014, if that is "several years ago." Their response doesn't mention the aftermarket front end parts from the wreck it had been in. We didn't go back to them because they made me sign a waiver of further claims if they agreed to weld the bullet hole in the transmission. I have that document. In addition they verbally made it crystal clear that they would accept no more liability. Why would I have bothered. Even their response is a spin. Believe the reviews on this place. If I had read them before went there I would have saved a lot of grief and money. More
Do not buy from them I just wouldn't buy a car from this dealer. Do your homework and read the other reviews. I wish I would have read them before buying. I just wouldn't buy a car from this dealer. Do your homework and read the other reviews. I wish I would have read them before buying. More
They sold me a wrecked car with a bullet hole in it. Bought a Toyota Corolla for my daughter. They told me about their rigorous inspection process, showed me the clean Carfax. Daughter loved the car, t Bought a Toyota Corolla for my daughter. They told me about their rigorous inspection process, showed me the clean Carfax. Daughter loved the car, took it on a trip. The engine blew up on the trip and was towed to the Toyota Dealer because it was within the warrantee period. The crankcase was shot (literally) and a bullet hole was found in the pan that had been covered up with JB Weld. And the front end had been replaced with aftermarket parts. So, no warrantee. After a long argument with the owner of Smith Family Motors he agreed to weld the hole shut. They said they didn't know about the damage so it wasn't their fault and they didn't feel they should have to do anything. I brought up the 60 point or whatever inspection they had used to sell me. They finally had to admit their inspection was meaningless. Anyway, got the car back on the road and the engine blew up. As they had already said the limit they would accept is to weld the crankcase pan I ended up selling the car as is and buying a certified car from a dealer. Worst car buying experience I have ever had. No integrity whatsoever in my opinion. Buy at your own risk. More

We drove around for a bit, came back a few hours later and he was still playing video games. hardly looked at us. and tried to use typical sales/scare tactics and wasnt willing to negotiate. Last time we came by he was putting around a golf ball and had completely forgotten about us. I also felt like I was dealt with dishonestly and wish I hadn't bought from them. We also tried to take them up on their warranty for a small pre-existing/non-disclosed mechanical issue. They determined they didnt want to fix it - which superseded the warranty. More
There is a reason this dealer has so many negative reviews!! I wish I had read them in advance....DON'T ignore them just because the dealer's response to each complaint sounds so eloquent and artfull reviews!! I wish I had read them in advance....DON'T ignore them just because the dealer's response to each complaint sounds so eloquent and artfully points the entirety of the blame BACK onto the consumer. First off, I fully admit that I am at fault for trading in a car and purchasing one from Smith's Family which would not suit my needs any better than the traded-in car. I made a mistake!! HOWEVER, I feel that Corky was condescending and rude when I politely asked (after calling 3 times with no return call) if he could help remedy the situation. I purchased a Lexus RX 400h for 19K and then paid them approximately $800 to complete it's 90K service. ONE MONTH later I called to say that the car was STILL too small -especially now that another child was on the way. I was apologetic and asked if he could help me by giving back CLOSE to what I paid for it. He sounded annoyed on the phone and stated that although he could not give me exactly what I bought the car for - he would be "aggressive" with the trade-in price on ANOTHER car purchased from them. I tried contacting him twice after this and was told he would need to speak to his brothers to see what he could do. He did not return my call and so I called again and stated that I was interested in another car on the lot and wanted to come take a look at it. I was fully expecting that money would need to be added to the price because I was upside down. At this point, he discouraged me from coming to the lot. He stated that his brothers were out of town (not sure whether they were out of cell-service range for a phone conversation) but nevertheless, he hurriedly gave me a trade-in value that was "auction price" and 4K less than I bought the car for 4 weeks earlier!! He refused to offer even "clean trade-in" although the car was filthy when I bought it and had to be detailed AND I had paid for the 90K service! I also noticed another Lexus RX 400h on the lot (one year newer) for 20K -so they probably would have priced mine for resale at the exact same price I purchased it for! It is true that their prices are probably the most competitive in the valley. But by my estimation...this dealer made 4K on the original sale of the Lexus to me (based on the sales price and what he probably paid at auction), another 2K on the sale of my trade to another customer. AND...then proposing that they buy back my Lexus for 4K less than I purchased it for 4 weeks earlier -making another 4K when reselling it AND another 4K from whatever I finally purchased (assuming this is a standard profit based on the aforementioned information). I asked him why the amount of trade-in he was offering was $4K less and whether he considered that "aggressive" - to which he said "that's a hard question to answer". Obviously, he was trying to get "rid" of me. And the deal he was proposing was ludicrous. For a small, "family" dealership - I was expecting more equitable and fair treatment. But obviously, they truly don't care and are in the business of making tons of money and taking advantage of people whenever possible. I guess I am naive in thinking morals and common decency exist - in a car dealership - especially!! I have had MUCH better treatment at Mark Miller Toyota in the past!! The worst part of the entire transaction was how "nice" they PRETENDED to be when I wanted to buy the Lexus originally and the subsequent total disregard and disrespectful treatment I received when it was no longer convenient (albeit profitable) for them. As I am sure their response will try to slander and paint me as irresponsible with all the fault falling on my shoulders...it is important to note that I have NEVER been upside-down in a car in my life and my credit score in the low - 800's can attest to my financial responsibility. I drive by their dealership everyday and they always have a good supply of Lexus RX350s which is what I've always wanted. I never stopped in because you know how uncomfortable it is at car dealerships. Well, a good supply of Lexus RX350s which is what I've always wanted. I never stopped in because you know how uncomfortable it is at car dealerships. Well, I decided to stop and was blown away by how different it is. It is like a country lodge or something and they didn't mob me but just talked to me like a normal person. They answered all my questions, let me take a test drive, gave me some print outs of the vehicle I wanted and then let me leave with no pressure. I compared online and could not find a better deal so I went back and bought it. I really liked the whole experience and have changed my opinion about buying a car. I definetely will go back the next time I need anything. More
I bought a Lexus through this dealer, only to learn that it's been in a front impact accident, nothing was ever mentioned even after I had asked if it had a history. The "pearl white" paint job did not have it's been in a front impact accident, nothing was ever mentioned even after I had asked if it had a history. The "pearl white" paint job did not have a clear coat and the after market paint job was very poorly done. The door jams, trunk, and under the hood we're the factory color, with a clear coat and the rest was not. It was apparent after washing it that in areas the paint was already chipping. I'm not sure if they took advantage because I'm young or a woman, but I will not be buying a car from this dealership again. The accident I definitely could have looked into before so it was my fault for trusting that it had not been, the paint job however, that was pure dishonesty. As most of these guys have children, I would imagine they'd never want this to happen to their daughter and I'd hope that it would show in their work ethic, but apparently not. Hopefully this issue gets resolved in a timely manner. More

Typically whenever I am shopping for a new vehicle the salesman are like hungry sharks and just want to make the sale. For the first time in a while I went to buy a car and I came acrossed one that I liked at Smith Family Motors. No one came out to run me down and give me a sales pitch and I thought that was wierd. The guys at Smith's Family didn't apply pressure at all. They let me drive a couple vehicles I was looking at and gave me a great price with excellent service. Even after my purchase Corky made sure to have the few door dings on the car fixed that we agreed on prior to the sale and they offer a 1-month 1000 mile warranty. The reason for my review is this, in my past experiences most of the time I leave a dealership with the car I just purchased with some regret and it did not happen at Smith Family Motors. Go down and talk to Corky and you will experience the same great low pressure service that I had. Thanks to all of you at Smith Family Motors!!! More
