Singh Auto World isn't the kind of dealership that gives you 'the warm and fuzzies' as another customer put it. The Salesmen are friendly enough (we had dealings with more than one), but something about you 'the warm and fuzzies' as another customer put it. The Salesmen are friendly enough (we had dealings with more than one), but something about the daily workings of Singh Auto World seems to not ring true. Maybe it's the too-good-to-be-true prices, or their willingness to swap missing parts of cars round (i.e. if you're looking at a car with missing fixtures inside they'll calmly reply that they can take them from another vehicle no problem.)?? Our final impression was made though when we thought we had found a good (albeit less than perfect) vehicle to buy from them. Within two days of putting a deposit down on the car, it had been sold to someone else, (who I'm sure offered more than the asking price) despite their claim that the someone had a put a deposit on it before us. And for me that was part of the problem.. it's hard to REALLY believe anything they say. These guys are young and probably mean well, but they give the impression that there's one thing they're interested in... your money. Heaven help anyone who needs to take a car back to them. As for me, I recently found a dealer closer to home that gave us a great experience from whom we ended up buying a vehicle, that highlighted just how bad our experience with singh auto world was, and how stress free the process can and should be. This is an interesting place. There are a lot of different dynamics going on here, some which raise questions and some which you would only expect from a new car dealership. All in all, I would say different dynamics going on here, some which raise questions and some which you would only expect from a new car dealership. All in all, I would say this is a good place to check out if you are in the market for a nice (but not perfect) used car and want to pay a good (but not necessarily dirt cheap) price for it. First things first. The "internet" price they list on their website are pretty hard and fast. I tried to bargain with the owner/manager on the "internet" price and he repeatedly shot me down even after I showed him cheaper listings from the internet for the same model car. He was very firm on the internet price, BUT you may want to check their website every couple of days. They lowered the price of the very car I was negotiating on a couple days after I tried to talk him down and coincidentally it was to the price I was asking. Not sure why they didn't just accept my price right off the bat, maybe it was an ego thing; but in the end it made me come back to get the car. To be fair, their "internet" price is on the lower side of the blue book value and other dealerships, but not the absolute lowest you can find. Also, do not take the prices listed physically on the cars in the lot seriously. They are obviously marked up and the salesman admitted so. The internet price is what they go by. Second, the sales people. They are nice. They do not pressure at all. In fact, I had to ask someone to help me, partly because they were busy with other customers and partly because that is how they operate. This place obviously does a high volume of sales. I sat back and watched their operation for a good 30-45 minutes and their sales people are not only doing sales, but helping out with detail, in the garage and in the business office. I walked around the lot for a good 15 minutes before anyone approached me which was good and bad. They are very nonchalant about the whole thing and I found that can be kind of a bad thing when it comes to getting the car ready for you to take home. Keep in mind all of their employees with the exception of the 2 managers that sit in the back of the office are not very refined. Yet all of their employees are very nice and willing to do what it takes to please you. Third, their loan process is simple and unbelievably painless. I didn't even fill out a loan app. I gave them my name, address and social and was approved in less than 5 minutes. Originally the sales rep told me I had to have excellent credit in order to be financed (I knew my credit was decent but not excellent). Turns out this isn't entirely true, as I think they prefer cash over financing. Either way the agreed upon price is the same for financing or cash, but the sales rep hinted they may go lower on the "internet" price if you were to pay all cash. Their finance guy is a gruff guy but a straight shooter and didn't try to sell you anything extra like an extended warranty. What you see on the paper is what you pay. The agreed price, tax, tags and registration. That's it. Fourth. If you get far along where you have decided on a car, go over it carefully. They will let you test drive the cars and check them out to your hearts content. But if you don't ask them to fix anything cosmetically or mechanically, you would be a fool. Most of their cars seem to be from auctions and they aren't perfect. I would say the majority of them are in good condition and need minor things fixed. Bring those to their attention if you are buying the car. They will fix them for free, if you ask. If you don't, they will not volunteer. For instance, i asked them to do a wheel balance, alignment, replace a side skirt, interior door and radio and they did it all. Now it took me 2 times to make sure they did everything correctly, but in the end they did it and never complained and never asked for payment for any of those fixes. But, this is where their nonchalant attitude comes into play. You need to stay on top of these guys in order to make sure they do everything they say they will do. They have so many guys on the lot and so many cars to keep track of, it's hard to make sure they are on the same page with you and the mechanic on what needs to be done. If you write a list, there is no confusion and it helps them out a ton. I don't know what the standard practice is for having used car dealers fix mechanical and cosmetic problems that are not essential to the safety and emission inspection of the car, but these guys did everything I asked free of charge. I doubt that is standard, and it comes out of their profit margin. In the end, my car was completely finished after about 2 weeks. My car was delivered to my home about an hour or so away from their dealership, free of charge. They do try hard to please the customer. If you stay on top of them and are willing to wait, you can come away with a good quality used car for a good price. More
My wife and I bought a 2005 Toyota highlander from Singh auto world in october, My wife started driving it and noticed that the transmission was acting up. We took it back to singh and they said they took i auto world in october, My wife started driving it and noticed that the transmission was acting up. We took it back to singh and they said they took it to the toyota dealership to have it service and they said nothing is wrong with it, and gave it back to us. It was still acting up so we took it back again they said they took it to a different toyota dealership and nothing was wrong with it and gave it back. So my wife couldnt stand this car anymore so we went to a different dealership to trade it in after 3 mos.. the owner of the dealership came out to talk to us because he needed to tell us something, he proceeded to tell us that the toyota has frame damage and showed us the report on it by the vin # and it showed frame and unibody damage.. here is the worst part, it shows that the frame damage was announced at manheim auction as being damaged. When we first bought the car they told us it was clean and no issues, showed us a clean car fax on it. So I called the owner whos name is Jeet, he said to bring it in and he will give us the money back and was very quick to do so. So my wife brought it back to him for the money and they tried to make us buy another car and dish money out to buy another car from them. So we said no we just want the money back, then he changed his whole story about how there are more miles on the car and he can only give a 5 of the money back. We were already willing to take the loss of the tax money on the car, now he wanted to give us $2000 less so all together we would be out $3000 dollars. I told him I would contact an attorney and the attorney general and he proceeded to swear at me and said that nobody threatens him. So in the end I contacted a lawyer and the attorney generals office and took the 3,000 dollars hit. I will never do business with singh ever again and will make sure everyone I know knows about this.. What signh does is they go to the auction and buy cars that have damage and accidents and put them on the lot and tell people they are clean. That is how they sell there cars so cheap.. Please if you are thinking about buying here, do not. You might spend 1500-2000 for the same car elsewhere but trust me it is worth it. More
