Delivered vehicle on Sept. 2. We had verified it was a blown engine. It is our daughters car, who is in college. We live 2 1/2 hours away from Birmingham. She needs that car to 2. We had verified it was a blown engine. It is our daughters car, who is in college. We live 2 1/2 hours away from Birmingham. She needs that car to get to work every afternoon to a job she must have to be able to continue in College at Samford. No one put a hand on the car until after five weeks and many phone calls. Once it was verified that the engine was being replaced (5 1/2 weeks in) and covered by Kia, it has taken two weeks to get it finished. Additionally, the car had a battery I purchased on August 18, and I was told that it was bad. I have all the warranty papers for the purchase of the battery from advance auto in Columbus, GA. I was assured by the Serra service manager he could not go get a battery with the warranty papers from Advance Auto in Birmingham because “ he does not have an account with them.“ I had all receipts and warranty papers show him for the battery, but all they could offer was to replace it for $400… Rather than simply go exchange the core for a new warranty battery from advance auto in Birmingham. Ultimately, we are incredibly pleased that KIA covered the engine that left our daughter stranded beside the road in Birmingham, but probably would not ever use Serra Kia service department again unless we had no other option. More
