Best Buying Experience Yet! I've been buying Toyota's or Scion's for the past 30 years and my buying experience at Serra Toyota of Decatur with Mikey O'Dell was the best by far! I've been buying Toyota's or Scion's for the past 30 years and my buying experience at Serra Toyota of Decatur with Mikey O'Dell was the best by far! Mikey promptly responded to all my emails and answered all questions that I had for him. He took all the time that was needed to make me comfortable and not feel rushed. He correctly answered all my questions and never pressured me or bombarded me with lots of questions. Mikey gave me a great price for both my trade-in as well as my new Toyota. Bad Experience I used True Car to buy a new Toyota Camry LE Hybrid. None of the local dealers had what I wanted in stock. Serra Toyota said they could get what I wanted, and we signed an agreement on the car/options/details and I provided a deposit. The car came a few days later and I thought I had what we agreed on---I was given the Toyoguard package and the number to call to get it activated. When I got home and called to activate the Toyoguard, I found out the car I purchased did not have it. Serra refused to honor our agreement; hence, my displeasure at being out $699 in Toyoguard and $199 in clear paint protection (retail value for each) that were on our signed agreement that was not provided in the car I purchased. Later, Roberto claimed I had cancelled these items, but why would I agree to give up nearly $900 in options when I already had a signed agreement with Serra? Serra claims to be for the veterans, and as a veteran I am turned off by any dealer who doesn't honor its written agreement. More

After test driving the model I was interested in, I talked with Antonio Gray about price. He negotiated a minimal amount with me before his manager Roberto Diaz came over to talk. When I asked if they could go lower, he knocked a little bit more off, but then refused to budge. No problem with that, it's just that I wasn't going to pay as much as they were asking. Roberto told me they couldn't go any lower because were selling the vehicle at a loss at the price they were offering. My wife remarked that she "had a hard time believing that", and Roberto acted all upset and accused us of calling him a liar. (To make matters worse, I KNOW he was lying that they couldn't go any lower, because they called me the next day and knocked another chunk off their asking price. And if they're selling vehicles at a net loss even after manufacturer incentives, there's something seriously wrong with their business model.) When I saw we weren't going to get anywhere and Roberto kept asking for my max price that I was willing to pay, I finally gave him an exact number. I knew the price I named was low, but not ridiculously low (backed up by the fact that I got a lot closer to it at Bill Penney Toyota). Roberto's reaction was to tell me if I found the same car for that price elsewhere, bring it to him and he'd pay me $1,000 more than I paid. Then he followed up with "In fact, buy as many as you can and bring them to me, and you'll make $1,000 on each of them." I found it very insulting, and decided that they wouldn't ever get my business after that. I couldn't believe the MANAGER of sales would treat a customer that way. I'd like to point out that my experience talking with Antonio the salesman was pleasant, and he seemed to be very knowledgeable about the car I was interested in. However, the management style of Serra Toyota is completely unsatisfactory, which is why I gave them such a poor rating. They give their sales people minimal room for bargaining with the customer, and then turn you over to their pushy manager who will say anything to make a sale. More
Simply outstanding experience! Their E-mail to me generated my interest so I called. Although I was very happy with my 2013 FJ, I knew the line was being discontinued after 2014 so I thought I'd giv generated my interest so I called. Listen, if you have bought a care before you know how stressful it can be. I saw a commercial in the morning about the Serra Toyota deals and that afternoon me and my wife did some research. We contacted the Internet team and were put in contact with Nanie Tovar. Nanie answered every single one of my wife and I's questions and not only didn't pressure us into something, but after hearing our needs recommended something more functional and we loved it. Before I showed up, I had 2 cars picked out that I wanted to look at, had my financing approved and was done with the car buying process within an hour. Nanie and the Serra Toyota staff went above and beyond and I will definitely be going back to them for my next car. I can't capitalize on how easy my car buying experience was all in all. If you don't at least talk to them about a new or used car, you are missing out. More
A few weeks ago, I took a trip up to Serra Toyota of Decatur with my friend. When I left the house, my intentions were to look at the vehicles they had because I had already looked online and they did Decatur with my friend. As the first sales person took us around, I asked him if he could locate the exact vehicle I was looking for. My intentions were to see what Serra Toyota of Decatur would do, as far as pricing, then take the purchase order to "my guy" (Roberto) at another dealership. When the sales person took the specs to his sales manager, I immediately noticed that Roberto was no longer at the other dealership, he was at this one. Anyways, I immediately greeted Roberto and both he and Anthony (Nino) assisted me with working out a deal on a new vehicle. Again, I had worked with Roberto in the past and he was a real pleasure to work with, again. He truly cares about his customers. Nino was just as awesome! He followed-up with me through out the process. He was very pleasant to work with and I never felt pressured throughout the whole buying process. I even drove to the dealership the night before I closed on the deal, when the vehicle came in, and Nino came out to greet me and offered to assist me, even when the dealership was closed. Good people are really hard to find and I feel both Roberto and Nino were truly excellent to work with! They really made to purchase process a pleasure! In my line of work, I will not hesitate to send someone their way! You guys are AWESOME!!! More
