Good Deal Christina & all the crew were upfront & eager to make a good deal for everybody. First time ever it was not all about the sale. Christina took time to Christina & all the crew were upfront & eager to make a good deal for everybody. First time ever it was not all about the sale. Christina took time to go through a lot of the features with the car even after the transaction was complete. Replacement EZ stick tabs were a very nice touch. Only drawback was the extra processing fee buying a car in CT. Otherwise all positive :) More
Stay far away. 1 star is even to much. We decided to go take a look at it. We called it was still available so we drove up to see it on a day we were free. Take it for a test drive and go over some paperwork, the car fax showed that it had a transmission put in a few thousand miles before it was traded in which should have raised a flag on a car with only 30k miles on it. My wife fell in love with it and it was what she wanted. We trade he car in and as always on a trade they shaft you but she wanted this so we agreed on a price for the trade in. We are told they can’t budge on the price of this Sti because if we didn’t buy it or put a deposit down on it they “had 4 other people who wanted it” and needed to make a deal quickly. I drive it home and hear this god awful noise coming from the motor the same night we took it home, I called their service department and told them I needed to get it back in and needed a loaner car since this is now my wife’s car and the car we traded in had no issues. Not a problem sir we will look at it we have a opening in two weeks......but I just took delivery of the car less than 24 hours ago and the motor sounds horrible. Sorry that’s the soonest we can get it in. Fine I’ll wait for that date, get there wait for 2 hours in the waiting room and explained to the advisor that if the car has to stay I needed a car to drive. She comes back to tell me that the bottom end of the motor had failed.....but it was in the shop for a once over to be sold on the lot how could it have failed and not be noticed? She is not sure but they have to keep the car and offer to give me a ride home, problem is I live a hour away and now have no car to drive for how ever long this is going to take to get done I need a loner car. We don’t have any set aside for you, but when I made the appointment the said there would be one there for me since we had bought the car. After arguing with them they get me a tiny little enterprise car that could barley fit 4 people in it which won’t work. I still have to argue and finally say I’ll take the car and bring it to my local dealer because now I know something is up, sure enough a loner car happens to show up. The car was here for 4-5 weeks having a short block installed under the “Subaru” warranty because it is a common issue. What the failed to disclose to me was why it failed and couldn’t tell me the truth. The previous owner had flashed the ECU, over boosted it and blew 2 cylinders which both had low compression, and it was noted with Subaru of America so it voided the previous owners warranty and he traded it in which the pervious owner and Schaller both knew about but because I was the new owner the factory warranty was still in tact for me because I just purchase it. Fast forward to a year and 8000 miles later I hear it knocking again take it to my local dealer where it is serviced all of the time and they tell me it is valve train noise and that the valves all should have been adjusted when the short block was done, I call the service manager and asked if it was done and he claimed yes it was but couldn’t find the paper work he then tells me well if it is serviced there they should have heard the noise and told us about it, no it actually just gotten louder but you still couldn’t prove that it was done. He offered to let us drop the car off so they can look at it. Honestly I had such a horrible experience after the first time you think I trust you with leaving this there? I don’t think so. I call my dealer back and tell him the story he said it is going to be xxx-xxxx amount of dollars to do so we schedule the appointment and drop it off to a dealer we trust who can actually do the work and not flat out lie to my face. I understand it was a used car they just wanted to flip and make money but when you have to lie to a persons face from the sales dept all the way to service it is not good business and I am not sure why companies do this still to this day. And please Schaller do not contact me about this issue because it is the truth and I do not want any calls emails or texts from anyone at your dealership regarding this review. I don’t mind paying a premium for a car I want but don’t keep lying to customers. More
VIN etch scam Buyer beware! We were never asked if we wanted VIN etching done on our used car. Once we got home after signing the financing paperwork, we realized Buyer beware! We were never asked if we wanted VIN etching done on our used car. Once we got home after signing the financing paperwork, we realized we were charged $199 for the etching and it was factored into our loan. Just for hahas, we checked the car. It wasn't even done. Icalled on 7/29 to have this corrected. The document processor, Kevin, told me he would take it out of the loan and resubmit it. In the meantime, we had to come back and drop the car off to have a second key made (why this wasn't done in the week they had it prior to pickup is beyond me). Upon drop off, we inquired with Kevin about the status of the VIN etch charge. Mind you, this is 2 weeks later... And he tells us he couldn't take it out of the loan. It sure would have been nice if we were called and told that. I stated that now that it's in the loan, it's costing us about $75 more due to the financing charges and tax and we would like a refund for that amount. He seemed a bit annoyed by that request and said he'd get back to me after speaking to a general manager. Never heard from him. In 2 days I had an appointment to pick up the car after the key was made and they looked at the brakes due to fairly bad shaking. I came as I was supposed to and the car was not ready. They did nothing. No one called to tell me that I shouldn't waste my time going all the way there. I then made another appointment to pick up the car in another 2 days. Finally my salesperson Dave actually called me to tell me the car was ready. I asked if the check was ready for me to pick up as well. Of course it was not because the general manager was out and it needed his approval. This is now 14 days since I reported the error. I said that I am not coming back until EVERYTHING is done, including the check. Dave said he would have someone call me back. No one did. 4 days later on the Monday that the manager was said to return I called in the early afternoon because no one had still contacted me. I was finally told it was ready so I got the car and check that afternoon. This is the short version which doesn't include several voicemails and calls with no response and having to make a separate trip there to sign paperwork forgotten about. Also, it only took me about 10 minutes to find someone else they had "erroneously" been charged for etching. Only go here if you like being charged for things you don't recieve, love long wait times to see cars, and hate getting a call back. More
Dishonest Service & Allstate GAP Ins. is a RIP OFF!!! We purchased a Certified Pre-owned Nissan Sentra for our daughter not even 1 month later the front bummer fell off. It was held on with zip ties. Sc We purchased a Certified Pre-owned Nissan Sentra for our daughter not even 1 month later the front bummer fell off. It was held on with zip ties. Schaller Berlin upon purchase at stated it was put through a thorough inspection. We brought it to Schaller Berlin and they said she must have hit a curb something, BUT they'd pay half of the repair costs. Which we had to fight for that half to be paid. Unfortunately our daughter was in a hit & run accident after only having the Nissan Sentra which was deemed to be totaled. Our personal insurance paid within 2 weeks. GAP Allstate insurance we had to call EVERY DAY. We faxed over everything & they'd ask for more. It also would take a WHOLE week from a fax being sent on Monday to be received on Friday night which resulted on a late night email after GAP Allstate Ins. was closed with a request for more information. Then after this with GAP Allstate saying they don't not have to pay the whole amount through the GAP policy, that Schaller Berlin took some of the money at time of purchase and that Schaller Berlin will now have to pay the remaining balance. Schaller Berlin keeps telling us, "It's the front office people," or "Oh, that guy no longer works here and Lisa is very busy, she'll call you later." Well, no call comes later. We have called EVERY DAY since the accident in April, it is now July. Still waiting. As of today GAP Allstate Ins has stated they are still waiting for Berlin Schaller to send over the paperwork and Berlin Schaller is claiming they sent it and they have now stated that the "check" will be sent out to the loan lender by the end July. Schaller Berlin has also offered to "roll" the remaining balance into a new car loan "until it is settled out and in the meantime Schaller Berlin will be happy get you into a new car." We are actually "supposedly" get an overpayment refund from the GAP Allstate Ins as we were told to keep making payments on our totaled car so not to mess up the credit rating. I therefore wouldn't buy or even accept a car from Schaller Berlin even it was free. They game being played of he said, she said and lack of concerns of a customer once they have paid and left has left a sour taste for Schaller Berlin. I WILL NEVER RETURN OR RECOMMEND THEY EVER TO ANYONE !!!! Save your money and go somewhere else. This dealership receives only one star because we cannot give it less that that. Rand Family. More
Beware of Shady Loan practices Agreed to purchase a used vehicle. during the process we told them that we had been approved for an auto loan from our credit union and all we needed Agreed to purchase a used vehicle. during the process we told them that we had been approved for an auto loan from our credit union and all we needed was a PO from Schaller and the bank would cut a check.. The sales manager stated that was good because they work directly with our credit union. They gave us some paper work stating that the credit union needed us to fill it out so the funds could be transferred. As things progressed we discovered that the dealership had applied for a loan to our credit union on our behalf. Once we found this out we called them on this shady practice. Once we informed them that we wanted to deal directly with our credit union they became very unresponsive for getting the information to the credit union. We discovers that they get a commission from the credit union on every loan they process. If you purchase a car from here be VERY careful of what they tell you and don't trust anything they say. More

That was fine but the salesman wasn't friendly. They then went to evaluate my possible trade in. Left us sitting there for 30+ minutes. When we asked someone where our salesman went and if they could get him, they pointed him out and said he's over there you can get him. At that point we finally got our keys back and left. More
Don't buy a used car from this place I bought a used Subaru from them two months ago, They did a great job of covering all of the scratched by having the car dirty or storing it in the s I bought a used Subaru from them two months ago, They did a great job of covering all of the scratched by having the car dirty or storing it in the shade. Now the paint defects are very noticeable too. Smelled fine for the first day, but since then it smelled like someone smoked 100 cartons of non-filtered camels in it. They won't do anything about it. Buyer beware with this place. Don't buy anything from them. More

Get your quote that you've agreed on from them (I visited to pick out and then called on phone to inform them I was taking the offer,) your complete out-the-door quote including ALL fees and taxes in writing. and ask the salesperson to tell you how long that quote is good for. ANYTHING that you agreeing to or want,,ust be written down, including that the tires on your test car will be changed or not be changes, and that every minor ding or scratch os fixed. Then, go down and check the it thoroughly inside and out. If it is not EXACTLY what you agree, do NOT sign the contract. Do not give them ANY money.Ask the Sales Manager to extend it by a couple of days so they can fix the problems and write it down. Do not go into anyone's office, or the finance managers office. Leave, and come back the second day they agreed to. Before you sign the contract, double check and ask them if there is ANYTHING else you will have to pay in taxes, sees, conveyance, registration, anything. If your prone has a recorder, turn it on. And after all that, you'll still be lucky to get the car. We did that, but before we got there on the day agreed, they sold it to someone else that same morning for more money. Also, I found out that a mere salesman's initials on any paper doesn't mean anything (Their excuse was that he didn't have the authority.) If any of this happens, walk out. If there is ANYTHING suspicious or doesn't seem right, walk out. Even the sales guy was embarrassed. Its surprising that the Schaller Acura inManchester can have such a good reputation, while the ones owned by the other family member are the pits. In 40 years of buying cars, this dealership was the worst. Tom L South Windsor, CT More
Another Excellent Experience We recently picked up our 2015 Legacy, and this buying experience was every bit as wonderful as the one we had with our first Legacy! We first met Ros We recently picked up our 2015 Legacy, and this buying experience was every bit as wonderful as the one we had with our first Legacy! We first met Rose Elias back in 2007 when we really didn't know too much about Subaru. Rose changed all that in one visit. She was an absolute delight to work with and proved that she knew her cars inside and out. She made us Subaru believers, and we knew that when it came time to purchase another car, we'd be coming back to see Rose. Her passion for her job, and her commitment to her customers is amazing, and she makes the whole process - from test drive to delivery - a simple, straightforward and truly pleasant experience! She is a gem! She always makes a point to say hello when we bring our current Legacy in for service, and so we were very confident recommending her to our friend when he was in the market for a new car. We'd also like to give a thank you to Vince for working with Rose to get us a great deal on a great car. More
