The service department provided me with a cool loaner and fixed it in under 2 hours. I highly recommend Savage BMW. No big city hassles! More
Once again a terrible service experience and a miserable customer service attitude by employees. My car was hand washed and dried by me immediately before driving to the dealership. I also checked all tire customer service attitude by employees. My car was hand washed and dried by me immediately before driving to the dealership. I also checked all tire pressures and adjusted to the recommended 32 front 38 rear. When I met with Joe Allen he was told I did not want the car washed or tire pressure altered. I do this because on two occasions I have been present when the car wash people have crashed customers cars.........plus they do a miserable job of washing. Their wash procedure seems to be squirt the vehicle with a hose and then park it in the sun till it dries. That way it is guaranteed that the customer gets the maximum amount of water spots all over the vehicle. As far as tire pressure these people have no clue. One visit they adjusted my tires to 25 lbs all around and on another to maximum listed on the tire sidewalls. When the car came out of service it was covered in water spots on all glass, water droplets were still on the roof and water was dripping underneath the car and forming puddles. The service advisor (Joe Allen) was standing there next to me and I said they werent supposed to wash the car. He replies that they didnt wash the car it just went thru a puddle. I told him xx and he said to the driver who drove the car up "You werent supposed to wash it." The driver says "I know and I told the mechanic that but the mechainc said he didnt care what the customer wanted and told me to wash the car." He didnt care what the customer wanted......that speaks volumes. I started driving home and noticed a very strong chemical odor inside the car...similar to gasoline or kerosene. It wasnt getting stronger but still required me to drive home on the freeway with the windows open. When I got home I located the source of the odor as the drivers side carpeted floor mat. It appears that someone in service stepped in gas or some chemical and then placed their shoes onto the floor mat....maybe during the test drive. So I removed the floor mat and let it air out overnight. I also placed an electronic ionizer in the vehicle and let that run overnight. After removing the ionizer in the morning I decided to check my tire pressures, figuring they screwed up everything so far so they must have monkeyed with my tires too. Well using the same tire gauge as I did the day before I measured my tires cold at 28 front and 32 rear. Thats 4 below in the front and 6 below in the rear from what they were set at and that is the substantially below BMW's recommended settings for my car. So I was forced to inflate my tires to the correct pressure, wash my car again to get rid of all the spots and run an ionizer to get rid of a chemical smell. All this from one service visit. I should have paid attention to what I had read on the net about Savage but admit I didnt. I have been there for five service visits so far and this is the second miserable experience I had. So this is my last visit to them and I will not recommend them to anyone for either sales or service. More
The dealership deals in deceptive practices. when confronted regarding this issue, they were very accomodating. After they took the opportunity to research their liability, they refused to take any confronted regarding this issue, they were very accomodating. After they took the opportunity to research their liability, they refused to take any more phone calls. The adage, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Shame on me for believing the General Manger, and General Sales Manger. Savage has no integrity in dealing with their clients, they merely minimize potential liability. More
I bought the 1997 528I from Savage in 2000 which was certified preowned. During the summer hot days, the dash board electronics would go blank. Non of the instruments work, the speedometer would stay certified preowned. During the summer hot days, the dash board electronics would go blank. Non of the instruments work, the speedometer would stay at 0 (zero) same as the tachometer, fuel gauge on empty, etc. I brought it to the dealership several times due to this problem and paid the $50 deductible. This went on for 3 years and lots of $50 deductible paid. They never fixed the problem. I took the car to an independent mechanic and was told it was the instrument cluster but Savage never admitted to the problem as it is very expensive to repair. Buying a certified preowned vehicle at Savage is good as long as you don't experience a major defect with the car. The $50 deductible is only good if they fix the problem, I probably paid 25-30 deductibles to a defect which was never fixed. More
