I've been bringing my vehicles to Santa Monica BMW for nearly a decade but will never bring any vehicle of mine there again. The day before my appointment, I received an email stating that my appointment nearly a decade but will never bring any vehicle of mine there again. The day before my appointment, I received an email stating that my appointment was cancelled for some unknown reason. When I called to see why they said the appointment was still there. It was strange and annoying but I brushed it off. I had made an appointment for a Friday afternoon and for the second time in a row, my service consultant was at lunch at the time of my appointment (which only takes minutes for me to check in and drop off my vehicle). I was told (by the replacement service advisor) that I would get my car back by Monday. I had recently brought my vehicle in 3 months prior for a full workup as my warranty was expiring. Other than replacing a tire that had a nail in it and topping off my fluids, I was assured that everything else on my vehicle was in top condition. Fast forward 3 months and only 1600 miles and suddenly I need new breaks, rotors and I have a bald tire. I get this news on Tuesday morning after radio silence from my service advisor for 4 days. I do not drive a lot due to the lack of work in the city due to the strikes and am flabbergasted as to how I ran through my break pads, rotors and a tire in such a short timeframe when these were "just checked" and everything looked fine. I asked these questions of my service advisor via text message (their preferred method of communication) and my questions were left unanswered. I do not hear from him again until he's telling me my vehicle is ready. When I went to pick up my vehicle I asked again and was told that it was my fault that this happened to my vehicle. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience and I will not be returning to a dealership that does not actually look at your break pads when requested, does not look at the quality of your tires when doing an alignment and then blames you for their lack of service if they reply at all. I'm not sure if its because I am a woman or a person of color or if my service advisor is just going through the motions to earn his check. There are enough other BMW dealerships that would be happy to take my business and I will be going there in the future. I advise anyone reading this does the same. More
