I bought a car from SFT, sight unseen, because the model wasn’t available in my state. My salesman, Wesley, took care of shipping it to me, when other dealers said shipping would be my problem. Supposedly, SF Toyota is a preferred dealer with special pricing through Auto Smart program. Sent online inquiry regarding a specific vehicle from the Auto Smart website through my credit union and printed pricing through Auto Smart program. Sent online inquiry regarding a specific vehicle from the Auto Smart website through my credit union and printed certificate. Never received any response from SF Toyota. With the online generated paperwork in hand, was told at dealership, “we haven’t participated in that program in years,” and “oh, that’s an old logo on the page.” Needless to say, that was untrue, because it was the exact vehicle I purchased- same VIN, color and trim. So, I would consider anything from SF Toyota listed on this website to be a scam. They will not honor this program once you get inside the dealer door. Either they should STOP listing their vehicles, or honor the program. Beware of their sleazy tactics. More
I was coming in from out of town, so I needed to have my information before renting a 1-way vehicle and driving several hours out to SF. Steven answered every question (and I had tons) with such detail and accuracy that he was 100% the deciding factor in choosing this dealership. Anything I required to make my decision was provided immediately and with absolute transparency. When I arrived to purchase the vehicle there were no surprises. The entire process took maybe an hour, and a lot of that was a test drive and waiting on DMV paperwork. That hour definitely wasn't spent worrying that something would change last minute, instead we got to enjoy the excitement of a new vehicle with no stress. If you're looking for transparency and straight transaction with no "gimmicks", I HIGHLY recommend San Francisco Toyota! More
Completely indifferent attitude. My family and I have bought and sold so many different cars here that I honestly can not remember how many cars it's been now. Our latest Toyota adventure led us to the 2017 Highlander Hybrid. I always feel obligated to check around with other dealerships for best pricing for my own peace of mind. This time around (because of the less common color combo I wanted) I had to speak with quite a few dealerships from Marin, to Walnut Creek, to Richmond, to Sunnyvale, and even San Diego. In the end, no one had the color combo I wanted but SF Toyota went out of their way to get me the exact car I wanted without trying to push a sale of one of the cars they already had in their lot. Other dealerships tried to do that. SF Toyota (& Sunnyvale) were the only two that were willing to give me a detailed quote on purchase or lease options over email. Everyone else wanted me to come in and "talk"about it.... Here's why you should come to SF Toyota for your next car: 1.) NO PRESSURE SALES (they really care more about the customer satisfaction and repeat customers) If they was a measure of repeat customers, I would bet SF Toyota is up there. 2.) STABLE & KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF: The employees have been there a long time. Lots of familiar faces. Edwin Tan, the sales manager, is outstanding and is willing to work with you to find what you want and is quite flexible. Jacky Ma, super hardworking salesman, goes above and beyond what a traditional salesman is. I felt like I was his only client. The finance folks are easy going. They explain what you are paying for and do not pressure you into buying things that you don't need. Listen, you'd be a fool to think they are not there to make a profit, but they don't pressure or guide you down the wrong path in trying to achieve that goal. The low turnover in their personnel should already reflect that management takes care of their people, so the workers can in turn take care of the clients. 3.) HIGHLY COMPETITIVE PRICING: Compare prices at other dealerships. Use TrueCar values. Then talk to SF Toyota. I can almost guarantee they will be highly competitive, but then their customer service, which is second to none, will win you over. Now, that's priceless! You are reading this review because you are doing your research. Good for you! Now take a deep breath and find comfort knowing that you will have a good experience with SF Toyota. They claim to be a "one price dealership" and therefore are not willing to negotiate at all even though their prices are too high. The specific vehicle we were looking at had already been lowered in price once, so right there goes their xx "one price" policy especially when they claim that their cars are priced right the first time. When we spoke with not 1, but 2 salesmen about lowering the price of a car $487, they were both extremely rude and just kept repeating their "one price" nonsense and refused to budge. Then 1 week later they started calling us because the car was still there (shocker) and now they had lowered the price to what we had tried to offer them the week before. I have puchased a few cars in my life and this was by far the rudest, and worst experience I have ever had. I would never purchase a vehicle from this dealership! More
