During my July 23 oil change and tire rotation, my vehicle was returned with no mention of any issues. On August 7, I discovered I could not remove the valve stem covers. By August 11, I was told all vehicle was returned with no mention of any issues. On August 7, I discovered I could not remove the valve stem covers. By August 11, I was told all four covers were “corroded” and that I would need to pay to replace all valve stems. The likelihood of all four valve stem covers corroding at the exact same time — within two weeks — is extremely low. This strongly suggests the covers were overtightened , cross threaded or mishandled during the July 23 service. I applied WD‑40 myself on August 8, and the dealership later repeated the same step without offering a real solution. I do not feel I should be responsible for repairs to damage that likely occurred during service. Due to this experience and the loss of trust in the service department, I will be taking my vehicle elsewhere for proper evaluation and will be submitting the bill to the dealership along with a formal complaint.
