The only issue I had was when I called later the next day to see when my car would be ready I had to call back twice. I was on hold for 12 minutes the first time. Unfortunately, I have to give this dealership a one star. My husband and I bought a vehicle in early February of this year (2024). It was a spontaneous purchase as we were out of state driving through town. My husband and I bought a vehicle in early February of this year (2024). It was a spontaneous purchase as we were out of state driving through town. My husband liked how clean the vehicle looked (rust free, etc) and its’ price point. We decided to take it for a test drive and the sales guy with us informed us of the check engine light being on but that he had had it out for a test drive for several miles and it drove great! He said “we don’t know why the light is on. It’s drives great. No misfiring, it picks up perfectly.” My husband at this point is thinking it needs new spark plugs and a tune up. It did drive well so we purchased the vehicle. One month later, we were just informed that the motor is bad and will need to be replaced at a $4,200 price tag. When I called to speak to the dealership, now they said they tried to caution us from buying the vehicle because they never had their mechanic look at it. I can’t believe this dealership put a vehicle on its lot to sell without having their mechanic look it over first. Even one with a check engine light on! I truly believe we were deceived. We were never cautioned, maybe told to get the oil changed but never cautioned from buying it. They said, they would never sell a bad car but that is also a lie IF you put a vehicle out to sell BEFORE having your mechanic look at it for issues (especially one with a check engine light on!) because you can’t say it is a good vehicle. And you most certainly shouldn’t put it on your lot to sell and cover your liability by selling “as is.” Why would you put a vehicle out to sell if you feel like you have to caution the buyer!! It makes no sense!! Yes, we did know the check engine light was on. So we definitely have a part in this unfortunately situation. Needless to say, we are very disappointed that this dealership opted to not take any measures before selling this vehicle, nor did it do anything to to try and make it better after they were informed of the situation. Definitely, a lesson learned on our part. Please don’t fully trust that they have had all their vehicles looked at before you purchase. You might just get a lemon like we did. More
