Double check Overall great experiences thus far except for the battery testing. Double check your battery before having them replace it. Thank you for taking my money Please be aware I have written this review as a warning to all car buyers, please be weary and read the whole thing. If I can help one car buyer from Please be aware I have written this review as a warning to all car buyers, please be weary and read the whole thing. If I can help one car buyer from this type of dealership it will be worth it. How can I describe the Russ Darrow group of dealerships? Tactful con artists; purposeful liars; feckless charlatans preying on the most needy in our communities? Yeah that about gets to it. I recently (within the last 3 days) bought an SUV from the Nissan dealership in West Bend. Though this was not my first visit to their dealerships. I had visited the dealership on Brown Deer a week earlier after being lied to that the vehicle I was looking for was still there, but in fact had been gone for days. So 2 days ago after work I drive all the way to West Bend to look at another vehicle that proved to be not a deal but a trap. I'm there to see one guy (made an appointment and everything) oh he's not available.....but this other guy who doesn't know jack about cars is (was talking to me about crumple zones for 5 minutes like it was a memorized text he had to give; oh you mean that thing thats been on all cars since the late 80's). I don't care I'm not there for him I'm there for the car. I don't care if a golden retriever comes out to show it to me. Then comes the show. What about this mirror that's loose, the AC not working, or that oxygen sensor? Oh we've got all of the issues on our disclosure sheet we've built all these issues into the price. Oh great I'd love to see the sheet.....Its a trap, the car works just long enough to get the papers signed and then BOOM. On the way home the instrument panel stops working. The next day after 10 miles total on the road the steering grinds after half a turn. Then the radio stops working and finally the suspension goes out. I take it to the nearest dealer to get it checked out (another Darrow) we find 4 new thing on a standard inspection that weren't on the disclosure sheet.....so all that happened in the 30 miles I'd driven the truck? That is not logical. So I decide to take it like a man use the truck as a learning opportunity for myself and help my children learn to work on cars. That was until the West Bend dealership decided to give me a call today. They had failed to return my ID and it had taken them 2 days to do anything about it. Since I had my "caring" salesman on the phone I decided to ask him about the issues. I wasn't even done with my sentence before his excuses started (like a memorized text he was ready to give). I don't want to hear it and least of all from him. I ask about their 3 day exchange policy; more excuses. WOW am I done with this conversation. I don't know if I could feel proud about my job if I had to rip people off all the time....what would I tell my wife or my mother? I do believe in a buyer beware situation, but I also believe a business has a need to take care of their customers or they will lose them. So you may think I'm exaggerating the whole thing; I am not, but if you still doubt it then by all means go and visit them yourself. I would suggest bringing a mechanic and a lawyer too.....just it case. More
