On Saturday May 1st, 2021, I set up an appointment to look at a used 2014 Taurus SHO, the car looked real nice inside and outside, when I test drove it at highway speed, I discovered a vibration and a br look at a used 2014 Taurus SHO, the car looked real nice inside and outside, when I test drove it at highway speed, I discovered a vibration and a brake concern that I let them know about, when I asked what they had done to the car prior to getting it ready for sale, I noticed they put a plug in one of the tires, they agreed to put two new tires on it and check the brakes. Prior to looking at the car that day, their dealership sent me an email to submit an appraisal for my trade using "Trade-in Valet", the appraisal came back from $4980-$6980, salesperson Blanca came to me with a offer of only $2500, I refused that, then Todd Long came back with $4500, and I refused that so I was not going to trade it in and sell it myself. In trying to close the deal, Todd Long said they had someone from Illinois interested in it and if they took care of the brakes and put the two new tires on it would I buy the car, he brought up a "gentleman's agreement" and I shook his hand and agreed to buy the car. He said that he would let me know the following Monday what they found out about the brakes, Tuesday he texted me to say that he may have to take the car off the market because of the cost of having to put on the two new tires and repair the brakes. I was disappointed in this, but then Blanca called me to tell me that someone else came into the dealership and bought the car, supposedly there was no communication in the dealership that I was buying the car. This was extremely disappointing, especially that Todd Long broke a "gentlemen's agreement". I will never be a customer of Russ Darrow. More
