Just hand over your money and don't ask questions. I would have to say, that was one of the most unique experiences I have ever had with a car dealership in all my life. I called about a 20 year old t I would have to say, that was one of the most unique experiences I have ever had with a car dealership in all my life. I called about a 20 year old truck with over 220,000 miles on it, and when I started asking questions about the service history, or what work had been done to the truck by Rt 69 Auto when they received it, Mike exclaimed, "Jeez, its a $2500 truck! It should be a $3500 truck! Its got new tires on it! There's no rust! It's a $2500 truck!" ...and repeating this every time I tried to get any real information from him, in a tone of voice that got more and more irritated as he talked. Two days later, I decided to stop by and see the truck (avoiding Mike, hopefully) - but when I stopped in and asked about the truck, he started yelling at the salesman "That should be a $3500 truck! This guy called and wants all the technical details! It's a $2500 truck!" all over again. I guess for some reason, there's something about a 20 year old, 220,000 mile, $2500 truck that makes it an insult to ask about the condition...? I don't know. The salesman sent me to the back, where I found two nice guys trying to hold up the hood of the $2500 truck (hood struts were shot) and jump start it (dead battery and battery terminals wrapped in electrical tape). When the truck finally came up front, I started around it with a clipboard, noting all the dings, dents, areas that were completely rotted through with rust (wait, no rust...?) - but when I pulled on the front wheel to check for ball joints and wheel bearings, Mike literally got out of his chair in the office and came storming over to me and said "Look, I got one thing to say to you. You can do your Joey (something) inspection with your clipboard, but this is a $2500 truck! (I'm not kidding, this actually happened) I'm not going to waste my time with you!" ...and stormed away. At that point, I'd had enough. I literally had $3000 in cash in my back pocket, and I yelled at his back, "Guess what? I'm not going to waste your time, either!", got in my car, and drove away. Like I said, I can honestly say I've never had an experience anywhere close to that at any car dealership I've ever been to in the last 40 years. I don't know what it was about me that seemed to irritate Mike so much, and it looks like there are plenty of positive reviews on their website (they apparently delete anything with less than 5 stars) so I guess the idea is to just show up with your money, don't ask any questions, and hand it over. Sorry. That doesn't work for me. There was absolutely nothing positive that came out of my entire interaction with this business, if I could give it zero stars, I would. More

Mr. Nice Guy disappears after you sign the papers. In May of 2017 my boyfriend and I purchased a Dodge Ram 2500 from Route 69. Overall the buying experience was pretty painless, the my salesman and the owner were very polite, answering all questions and giving me a good deal on my vehicle. We also purchased a 3rd party warranty. They replaced the back half of the exhaust and the back bumper and 2 tires as well as the tie rods and ends and ball joints. Things changed the moment we were handed the keys. The very next day the truck started vibrating when we hit the brakes and the break light came on. Mike had us bring the truck in for a no cost repair. They had our vehicle for over a week. Didn't offer a rental or even a ride home. We pick up the truck a week later and the brake light is still on. Only now we are experiencing what is called the "Dodge Death Wobble". We use our warranty for that. $1800 to fix. Not to mention the brakes needed replacing AGAIN as well as the tie rods and ball joints! (An additional $1600) Not even 2 months after purchasing the vehicle. 6 months later, the exhaust that they(route 69) replaced fell off the vehicle completely. And now I am dealing with motor problems. No wonder they knocked $3000 off their asking price. They knew this thing had almost over 10k worth of work that would be needed almost immediately. And that doesn't include the cost of regular maintenance. Which has been done on this vehicle. I take care of my investments and a vehicle that costs a third of what I make a year is definitely an investment. If you REALLY need to buy from them, bring your own mechanic. Take it for an inspection before you sign those papers. I'm not trying to bad mouth the company or it's employees, but this seems to be a common theme among a LOT of these reviews. Not everybody could possibly be the brainless bone-heads that this company would lead you to believe they are based on their replies. More
Don’t buy from here! I purchased a car from Rt. 69 Auto Sales in Prospect, CT on December 28th. They didn’t mail my title until January 23rd, if they mailed it at all beca I purchased a car from Rt. 69 Auto Sales in Prospect, CT on December 28th. They didn’t mail my title until January 23rd, if they mailed it at all because I haven’t received my title. The 30 day tags expire tomorrow and I won’t be able to drive my car. They said they have no control over it and even hung up on me when I complained. They gave us the worst service and couldn’t care less that they waited until the last minute to send out my title, giving me no time to go to the DMV and get everything switched over. Again, I’m still waiting on my tags. I feel so scammed and don’t know what to do after spending thousands of dollars on a car that I can’t drive. I have to purchase a rental car in the meantime but I’m guessing that since it doesn’t take five days to receive mail from CT to NY, they took my money and screwed me over. Please help me in this situation. I don’t know what to do. They took $6500 of my money and I can’t drive. More
