We got a coupon to take a test drive on an Outback and receive a $50 credit card. We into the dealer for the test drive on an Outback over a year ago. We decided not to buy the car at that time. Wanting t receive a $50 credit card. We into the dealer for the test drive on an Outback over a year ago. We decided not to buy the car at that time. Wanting to wait 6 months. They keep trying to sale the car and after about 15 minutes they final took our coupon and said that we would receive the credit card worth $50 in the mail in about a month. After waiting 5 weeks we called them and they said that it was in the mail. 2 weeks later the excuse was it was held up at Corp. due to Covid. 2 weeks later they said Corp was closed due to Covid. I called Subaru Corp. headquarters final got through to the 3rd party that handles the redemption for Subaru. I gave them the coupon number and proof that we were there. They said that the dealer never turned in the coupon but they would honor the coupon if the dealer would send it in. Went back to Route 46 Subaru to explain and show them the copy that I had saved. They said that they would send it in. They never did and after several attempts and going back several times worn me down and lost the sale of the Outback which we brought at Morristown Subaru. My experience was their word is not worth $50 and if cheat me out of $50 they would certainly take out of much more. More

Rediculous Lease Pricing I spent an hour and a half with a great salesman. Have no issues with him. But when I was quoted a lease on a 2020 Crosstrek, bare bones Limited, wi I spent an hour and a half with a great salesman. Have no issues with him. But when I was quoted a lease on a 2020 Crosstrek, bare bones Limited, with a MSRP of about $30K, for 36 months, and 10,000 miles, the number I received was $472/month. I was shocked!!!! I have never heard of a monthly lease amount this high on any car with an MSRP of $30K. My other car is a Lexus and I am paying $100 per month less. More
UPDATE 6/18/20 I received a phone call and an apology UPDATE 6/18/20 I received a phone call and an apology from a representative from Route 46 that was much appreciated. During our call the represen UPDATE 6/18/20 I received a phone call and an apology from a representative from Route 46 that was much appreciated. During our call the representative mentioned a reduction in their current availability of used cars and yesterday I received a notice on cargurus that the price of this vehicle was increased to $39,995. In summary: I spoke with multiple employees of Route 46 Subaru and indicated that I was an out of state buyer each time. We came to terms on a sale price of $31,400 for a 2016 Lexus LS. I then received the news that they "require that all paperwork is done in person"... three days later the price of the vehicle was increased from $31,400 to $39,995 - I will let you draw your own conclusion as to the real reason they reneged on our deal More
I contacted the dealership after seeing one of their cars - a 2016 Lexus LS 460 on sale for $30,995. I was contacted back by Nancy Geiser and I said that I wanted the car, but said that I would need it ship - a 2016 Lexus LS 460 on sale for $30,995. I was contacted back by Nancy Geiser and I said that I wanted the car, but said that I would need it shipped to Ohio. She said that the shipping would need to be coordinated by me, but otherwise there were no issues with me buying the car. I told her I understood and that I was ready to move forward and she said that the price was listed incorrectly and the cost of the car was actually $2,500 more. I told her that was outside of my price range and asked that she please contact me if the price was reduced in the future. Last Friday I was searching Cargurus again and saw that the price was reduced to $31k. I immediately contacted Nancy and she said that "A different customer is looking at the vehicle right now, i'll contact you as soon as they leave" this was at 10:00am on 6/13/20. After not hearing a word from Nancy, I called her back at 4:00 at which point she told me that "We're holding the car because the customer promised to bring back a certified check by Monday morning" I told her i'd never heard of another dealership holding a car for someone without a deposit and she forwarded me to Luis. Luis simply said that the customer made a promise to bring the funds so they were going to wait until Monday morning before putting the car back on the market and that he would call me first thing Monday morning at 8:30am - I told him I didn't understand why they would hold a car on someones' promise and that I was prepared to purchase the car now, i again reiterated that I would coordinate the shipping to Ohio and Luis said "let's talk about that when your offer is accepted". I called the dealership Monday at 10:30 and Luis was not in. I eventually was called back by Nancy in the afternoon who confirmed the car was still available. She said she would have a salesperson contact me immediately. I heard from a salesperson 4 hours later, he took me through the condition of the car and answered my questions sufficiently. I asked the salesperson if we could begin the paperwork. We went over the applicable fees and I provided my credit card number for a deposit. Then the salesperson asked when I would be in to sign the forms. I told him that I very clearly communicated to all parties involved that I would need the car shipped to Ohio and he said that they require that documents are signed in person. I asked to speak with Luis immediately. I then received a call from Nancy, who claimed she was unaware that I was shipping the car to Ohio, even though it was very clearly stated in our numerous emails and phone calls. I asked if there was anything we could workout (me hiring a notary, doing a signing via Facetime etc.) and she said she would check. 30 seconds later she came back to the phone and said that they wouldn't be able to do anything for me. I again asked to speak with Luis. 10 minutes later I received a call back from my salesperson stating that there was nothing that they could do, I told the salesperson that I wanted to speak to Luis, his manager, and he said that Luis asked that he relay that information. I demanded to speak with Luis and my call was quickly transferred to his desk. When he answered the phone I could sense the frustration in his voice. All he said was "Hello" in a low, clearly annoyed voice. I asked if this was Luis and he grumbled that it was. I explained what was going on and he said "It's our policy to do in person paperwork only" I told him I was a Financial Advisor and that i'd shipped account documents, trade confirmations, beneficiary update forms etc. and all that they required was a notary. I even offered to supply my own notary and one for the dealership in order to get the deal done. "No, we only accept in person paperwork" was his robotic response. He then said "you know if you really want the car you could always drive here and pick it up" I told him that it was a 10 hour drive from Ohio and that I have a child on the way in the next three weeks so that was out of the question, especially given the concerns with Covid-19. His final response was "well then you don't get the car". In a time where you can purchase vehicles completely online at sites like Carvana, Route 46 Subaru is unable to process paperwork digitally - insisting that customers sign documents in person. This policy is asinine, you can purchase a business, a house, an apartment building, a boat, a plane and pretty much everything in between without signing in person. But as I've learned, that is not the case for a used car from Route 46 Subaru. The ineptitude of the Subaru 46 employees that I had the misfortune of working with was astounding. The deliberate wasting of my time shows that these people clearly are in way over their heads and don't know how to sell cars or properly run a business. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a dealership. More
