Mis-Diagnosed It's a shame that 0 stars isn't an option. I brought my 2014 Town & Country in on 4/30 because the battery light and other warning lights had come on and the car had died and had to be jumped. When my wife and I brought it in I told the service advisor that I thought it could be an alternator problem and he told me that everything would be tested and checked out. When we picked it up later that day we were told that we just needed a new battery and we were charged $190. Three days later on the evening of 5/3/19 when driving the vehicle out to Kalamazoo, Michigan, we start having the exact same problems. Battery and warning lights start coming on and then the car dies and this time jumping it won't get it started back up. I had to have the car towed to a local dealership, rent a car while my vehicle was being repaired, and take a day off of work to make an additional trip back to Kalamazoo to pick up my vehicle when it was finally repaired. The dealership in Kalamazoo said the problem was the alternator ( what I suggested it may have been when I brought it in to Rochester Hills) and that when they tested it, it was outputting 0 amps. $903 dollars later the alternator was replaced and we haven't had a problem since. I think it's obvious that Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep misdiagnosed the problem originally and because of it, I feel it cost me quite a bit: $190 for a battery that they replaced and wasn't the problem $75 to tow the car to dealership in Kalamazoo $170 for a rental car $350 a lost day of work to take an additional trip to Kalamazoo $40 gas for an additional trip to Kalamazoo to pick up car I called my Rochester Hill Service Advisor to discuss what happened however, he was on vacation - so I spoke to his back up. Had a nice conversation and he said he would have the service manager call me. After a couple days I call back and still told that he would have the Service Manager Mary call me. Since I got a name this time, I also put a few calls in and left some messages for Mary.....Still have never heard from Mary. I did get a call from Marc though, who said he was the assistant service manager. Again explained what happened and he said he would look into it. I was hoping that they could take some responsibility for their misdiagnosis and maybe help at least cover the cost of the rental car. I also emailed him copies of the rental car receipt and the receipt from the Kalamazoo dealership so he could see their diagnosis. After a week, I didn't hear back so I shot Marc another email to see if he was able to look into my issue. He replied to my email saying "Unfortunately I’m unable to assist with any expense. I do apologize for your inconvenience" Way to take responsibility ....that apology makes me feel so much better. I realize mistakes happen, but I think you should own up to your mistakes. An "I apologize for your inconvenience" would have felt better if they seemed sincere and offered to cover the rental car which I wouldn't have needed if they fixed the problem correctly to begin with. If they would have done that, I'd probably be giving them a few more stars and writing a better review. Instead, I'm wishing I could give them zero stars and will never step foot in their dealership again. More
