2017 Ford Escape - A perfect fit for me. It all started with a call to Chris Haynie to ask whether my 2015 Escape could be retro fitted with an auto lift Tailgate. He investigated and concluded there are no after market kits and it would be very complicated, including a computer change. ROM estimates were in the $2000 region if anyone could be found to do it. I'm getting long in the tooth and use both rollator and cane so auto lift tailgate was very important to me. I had a Venza with auto Lift tailgate and loved it, and a 2015 Ford Escape with manual tailgate and hated it. Everything else about the 2015 Escape was wonderful and suited me perfectly. I especially liked the handling and ergonomics of the Escape. Chris suggested I talk to Jon Carlos Montute and see what we could work out. Jon Carlos showed me a new 2017 Escape [an upgraded SE with Leather and BLISS and trailer tow package just off the transporter with 3 miles on odometer] and it was perfect for me. Traded both 2009 Venza and 2015 Escape for the new 2017 Ford Escape with all the equipment I needed/wanted. Jon Carlos Montoute helped to make the deal I wanted work, Joey Foust and Dana Bishop helped me with seal coat and rain guards and Marvin Taylor worked the finance papers. I had been looking at the Escape for several years and had some technical questions on the 4wd and tow package that I could not find answers for in the on line information so I asked Ed Palmateer and he dug in, went to the mechanics and service manual and found the answers for me.
