As a 1st time buyer of a BMW I must say I was quite impressed with the overall experience with Richmond BMW. The customer service, quality and friendliness was just superb. I was determined to find th impressed with the overall experience with Richmond BMW. The customer service, quality and friendliness was just superb. I was determined to find the car that I wanted and although they did not have it on the lot Darren continued to work above and beyond my request to make me a happy and satisfied BMW owner. I know I was determined because I always believe that just when you're about to give up blessings show up ... and what a wonderful Christmas surprise it was. Thank you Darren, James & Dmytry for welcoming me to the BMW family because that's exactly how I felt from the moment I walked into your dealership until the day I drove off your lot in my 2007 Jet Black 328i Coupe...like family. Thanks a million Darren for being open-minded, honest & encouraging, providing me with quality service and not giving up on my dreams. More
To be blunt, I have never had a dealer experience like that of Richmond BMW. Each and every individual of their team not only lives up to, but, in fact, exceeds expectations. BMW may build the "ultimate that of Richmond BMW. Each and every individual of their team not only lives up to, but, in fact, exceeds expectations. BMW may build the "ultimate driving machine," but from sales to service, Richmond BMW has people driven to provide the ultimate ownership experience. My highest accolades go to Cheryl Bowman, who, together with the rest of Richmond BMW's team extended every effort to make me feel special. Even tough I was looking at a CPO car (aka a "used" BMW), I was treated with every respect and courtesy otherwise reserved for new car customers. And my Jet Black 2007 Z4 Coupe looked showroom perfect on delivery. The "Owners Orientation" offered by Richmond BMW was both informative and engaging, and underscored the levels and lengths the team goes to to support and satisfy their customers. Perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay Richmond BMW is to say that I don't consider them a "dealership." They are good and trusted friends, and I am already looking forward to my next ultimate driving acquisition. Cheers, Geoff More
DJ, the internet sales rep, had a great deal posted on an enthusiast forum. Got in touch with him, and making the deal worked great. DJ was a real pro -- a pleasure to deal with, and the deal was fantastic enthusiast forum. Got in touch with him, and making the deal worked great. DJ was a real pro -- a pleasure to deal with, and the deal was fantastic. Drove 100 miles since the price was that much better than I found in the DC area. Got there, and the deal was as discussed, no fuss, no hassle. More
This is only the 2nd new car I have purchased, usually it has been used. From the beginning of test driving different vehicles to the actual ordering of the new car this was a very pleasant experience. The has been used. From the beginning of test driving different vehicles to the actual ordering of the new car this was a very pleasant experience. The delivery was very informative and useful. I was shown many features that helped understand the auto more. I thought I was familiar with the car but they showed me many features that I was unaware of. More
My family has purchased 5 vehicles from this dealer/DJ and we're getting ready to purchase our 6th. DJ and the rest of the sales staff have always treated us with great courtesy and respect. They have alw and we're getting ready to purchase our 6th. DJ and the rest of the sales staff have always treated us with great courtesy and respect. They have always kept our needs and concerns as their main focus to ensure it was more than just a sale but a partnership. Our experience with the service department has been the same. Fortunately our vehicles have not required any major repairs outside the scheduled maintenance and service. Scheduling an appointment has always been easy and when necessary getting a loaner car has not been an issue. My family has purchased many new and pre-owned vehicles over the years and no other dealership has ever been concerned with more than getting the sale at that moment. Richmond BMW/Mini has gone above and beyond to ensure they built and nurture a relationship with us that has earned our repeat business over the years. I/we have recommended them to our family & friends and would suggest you make the trip to Richmond (Broad Street location) when in the market for your next new or used BMW or Mini. More
My buying experience through Crown Mini was absolutely flawless and an all around enjoyable experience. This being my first new car purchase I fully expected to meet overly aggressive salespeople with de flawless and an all around enjoyable experience. This being my first new car purchase I fully expected to meet overly aggressive salespeople with devious sale tactics leading me to purchase a car that I might not really want. What I found at Crown Mini was a friendly group of people working as a team to help me get the exact car I wanted. My MA, Teresa Gooch, was a pleasure to work with. During the weeks I waited for my order to come in she was always available to answer my questions (and very quickly I might add!). I felt completely at ease with her and enjoyed working with her very much. The financing department gets a thumbs up from me also. They offered a lower rate then I had obtained elsewhere. This made purchasing effortless since everything was taken care of all at once. As for the dealership itself - it was perfect! The showroom, waiting area and service area were all spotless and impressive. They covered everything regarding comfort including a flat screen tv in the restroom! I can't rave enough about this dealership and its staff. For anyone in the market for a Mini I highly recommend Crown Mini of Richmond. More
Richmond BMW treats my family really well. When I have a minor problem all I have to do is to drive up and tell them what's wrong and usualy it gets fixed right then and there. I've never needed major serv minor problem all I have to do is to drive up and tell them what's wrong and usualy it gets fixed right then and there. I've never needed major service. Once, my daughter's (well, it's really mine) 325i developed some clutch judder. I called the service advisor and explained the problem. Even though the problem had resolved itself, transmission bushngs were replaced, just in case. All of the work was covered under warranty. I understand this dealership underwent a management change about a year ago. Perhaps those who have written negative reviews helped prompt the change, but things certainly have changed since 2004. I agree with most posters here. This was the worst I agree with most posters here.

This was the worst dealership of any kind I've ever been to.

I think they even charge more than the list I agree with most posters here.

This was the worst dealership of any kind I've ever been to.

I think they even charge more than the list price for factory parts... I'll never buy a part, or take my car there, ever since I was told "there's a 3 week wait for the oil change you need." Every time I've been there I have been disappointed with their service and the results. More
This is perhaps the worst service department in the United States. I moved around a great deal for work and currently own two BMW's, a 2002 330ci and a 2003 X5 3.0L (my wife). Both cars have been ser United States. I moved around a great deal for work and currently own two BMW's, a 2002 330ci and a 2003 X5 3.0L (my wife). Both cars have been serviced at different dealerships, namely BMW VOB in Maryland, BMW of Arlington and Richmond BMW. Before owning these cars, I owned a 1999 Toyota Camry serviced in Maryland, with a 1995 Honda Accord sedan, serviced by Herson's Honda (awful place) followed by (a bit better) Ourisman's Honda in Bethesda.

I believe very strongly in factory service, perhaps I am stubborn in that way, but I always believed in quality in training. Of the above listed facilities for BMW, Richmond BMW is the absolute worst. VOB seems to get overwhelmed by its business, but still tried its best for me, as far as my experience was concerned.

Richmond BMW will keep your car for several days and do nothing. Then they will tell you they are "unusually busy" and ask to reschedule.

NOTE: Richmond Crown BMW has one (1) loaner car, as they continually refer to "them" as their loaner "cars". Nearly every time I have been there, I have overheard customer complaining that they had reserved a loaner car, been promised a loaner car, etc. but were told "they" (the car(s)) were all "out". At one point, I heard a man exclaim, "So, you only have ONE CAR?!" After my first experience, I never asked again.

but this is the least of their problems.

Service advisors are rude and will do everything they can to avoid you. They never make eye contact if they can help it. The only time they have ever been nice was when their manager, at that time, a gentleman name Mr. Bettley, is present in the room, and that was ONCE.

The techs either don't care or don't know what they are doing on cars. The techs may wear shirts with the BMW logo, but that is all. They appear to only walk around and try to do as little work as possible.

At one point, they took 50 minutes to pick me up from the shopping mall 8 blocks down the street in their "courtesy shuttle".

They replaced some kind of wiring to the tail lamps in the back of our 330, but did not bother to put back any of the bolts (they were literally rolling around in the trunk when i got home), or the covers (black plastic covers) installed correctly in the trunk.

I also encountered another gentleman in the parking lot of Price Costco with a 330i sedan who told me (& showed where) Richmond BMW damaged his car, and insisted it was pre-existing door damage on a 2 month old car. He had to threaten to sue, before they sent the car to their authorized body shop, a place called Fletcher's Auto Body on Mountain Rd. @ Brook Rd., who repaired it and then damaged a different part of the car! He explained how the service manager tried to insist that he "try to file it with your insurance" instead of having them take responsibility.

More
