Pete Vietheer is the best guide for your car purchase! I began my research for a car in February this year, expecting to take several months to get into what I wanted. I attended the Philadelphia car show I began my research for a car in February this year, expecting to take several months to get into what I wanted. I attended the Philadelphia car show on February 1, 2017 to see all the models in one place. Leasing is not really an option for me, as drive a lot for work, so after doing some comparisons to buy new vs pre-owned, I sent some on-line inquiries for pre-owned BMWs, Lexus, and Audis on February 4, 2017. I received a response from Peter Vietheer at Richard Catena Auto Wholesalers on February 6th and made an appointment with him on February 7th. On February 11th I drove home in my new (to me) 2015 BMW X3 with ALL of the things I was looking to have. 11 days… that was all it took… I begin my review in this way because I want to convey that, I generally approach a big purchase like this with a lot of thought and research, so after receiving Pete’s email, I began reading reviews of Richard Catena Auto Wholesalers. Many of them were negative; but ALL of the ones that were extremely positive involved the customer working with Pete. There was an element of trust that was so pervasive, that I took a leap of faith and kept my appointment. And I was not disappointed! Pete was professional, knowledgeable, honest, personable, patient and fun! He dedicated a block of time to showing me the car about which I inquired, as well as offering to show others. He answered ALL of my questions, both in person and after I left, via email. There were no sleazy used car salesman gimmicks, no pressure, no back and forth haggling. Cars are sold as is at a considerably low price, because like anything wholesale… their profit margin lies in volume of sales and not an individual sale. In fact, upon checking the value of my car, with all of its options and upgrades, against what I paid at Richard Catena… I saved 45%! While the cars are sold, “as is”, they are in excellent condition. I recently took mine to my local BMW dealership for the 50,000 mile service and they do a full inspection of the car for first time customers. With the exception of replacing the transmission pan, everything else was routine maintenance. The best marketing is word of mouth, and I hope my review is helpful to those of you looking for a luxury car without the luxury price tag. I would highly recommend searching for your next car with Richard Catena, with the caveat that you specifically request Peter Vietheer as your salesman. Pete is the absolute best! More
