Taking the excitement out of getting a new (to us) car Our recent used vehicle purchase at Reliable Chevrolet was frustrating to say the least. We saw that Reliable had multiple of the vehicle we were loo Our recent used vehicle purchase at Reliable Chevrolet was frustrating to say the least. We saw that Reliable had multiple of the vehicle we were looking into, which are not in abundant source in town. The salesperson we worked with knew little about the vehicles beyond the year, mileage, and color of the vehicle. Every question we had about the vehicle was responded with an, “I’m not sure” or a, “I’ll have to ask my manager.” When it came down to discussing the pricing on the vehicle, we had to wait what felt like forever for the salesperson to go discuss with his manager. We went back and forth and finally got to a point we were comfortable with. In the process, we decided to handle the tax, title, and registration. The salesperson was misleading on how this process would work/cost when we handled it, but I shouldn’t have listened to him at this point anyways. We didn’t close the deal on that day since we were paying “cash” and had to wait until Monday to get a cashier’s check. When I got home, I was clearing cars I had saved online, only to find out the car we were in the process of purchasing was listed online for about $1,000 less than what Reliable had offered to us. They did lower the price, but we were frustrated that this even had to happen. We were given the excuse that the people who control the website don’t always communicate with used sales. Once everything was finalized and we had provided the cashier’s check for the full amount, we still had to wait two weeks to receive the title to allow us to take care of the tax, title, and registration. We have no chance of getting a plate in time and will have to visit our favorite place for a second temporary tag. The salesman managed to make one last blunder when giving us the keys, he didn’t even check if there was a spare key to go with the vehicle. There was only one for the vehicle, which would have been nice to know in the purchasing process. Overall, we are pleased with our vehicle, but never want to go through the Reliable process again. I do not plan to return, even if they have the perfect car I am looking for. More
