Great friendly no pressure staff, cold water bottles were given to us, and they were not offended when I told them my specific vehicle and that we would probably just leave if they didn’t have it. We would not look at my 2nd choice, if they didn’t have my first choice. Haven’t bought a brand-new car in 25 years. Have been wanting a Subaru for a long time. I had checked Chico and Sacramento dealers for the specific model I wanted. It was not available locally and a Sacramento dealer called me back and it seemed it would be an ONLINE buying experience. NOT! Since our purchase at Redding Subaru, we’ve decided we want a cargo carrier. I called the local dealer and was told they did not have them on display but would be happy to unbox them so we could compare the 2 sizes. We are still breaking the car in, but I suspect we’ll go back to Redding Subaru to look at the cargo carrier. I have one n that negative that you’ll read in the review. I specifically explained the car I wanted. The salesman said let me pull it around. Shock, since I couldn’t find what I wanted anywhere else. I wanted a Cinnamon Brown Pearl, with Java Brown interior Outback. While we looked at it, the salesman pulled around a red (2nd choice) and a Pearl Blue, husbands’ choice to compare the three. I settled on the Cinnamon Brown Pearl and then we went for a drive with the salesman, which was our choice. He explained all the safety features and took us on the freeway. I originally wanted the larger motor; we saw that the power of the 2.5L would meet our needs. But the price, other than my husbands Chevy dully we had never spent that much on a car. It was more than our first house. After much discussion, I picked the Cinnamon Brown Pearl Limited Outback. We were given a tour of the dealership, parts, waiting area and a display of the cargo carriers and other accessories. We then met with the financing guy. He had me at hello, since he was a southern boy, complete with the accent! He was really nice; financing was a breeze. The office itself was interesting as there were guitars on the wall, he indicated that his office mate handmakes guitars. We were presented with a freshly washed, windows cleaned inside and out, and rubber mats in the front and back seat. The carpeted mats were placed in the back. I was shown how to open the hatch hands free. The car was filled up and I was given 2 key fobs. Oh my, it wasn’t until I pulled in my garage that I realized there was no key. I hadn’t realized it was keyless until I got home! OK, I’m old and still dealing with not having a key. We kept our 10-year-old car and now I find myself worrying about shopping carts every place I go. While talking with the salesman I mentioned that we planned to get a motorhome and travel. Imagine my surprise when I read in the Subaru book that the car can’t be towed. Since, I mentioned it, I feel like I should have been told, our plan was to tow our car when we traveled. Now, we will have to buy a car trailer, which will increase our insurance and fuel costs. I still love my new Subaru Outback and I know if we had known and bought a towable car I may have lived with it, but I would still want a Subaru for the safety features alone! More
