Volkswagen of Queensboro (Sales, not Parts/Services: As I have yet to have an issue with my vehicle.) *I have a Summary at the end, for those that don't want to read all of this. A little background, I have always dreaded buying cars; not only because of the negotiations process, but because of the time it takes to complete the process. I hate wasting time and I hate when my time is wasted. Two weeks prior to going to VW Queensboro, my father had purchased a Toyota (not in NYC) the process of negotiations took forever (expected), however the time spent filling out paperwork and hanging out waiting to be seen took forever...about 6 to 7 hours in total. One week later, when we went to pick up the car it was damaged and had to be painted, we spent about 3 hours as they tried to use touch-up paint. To this day, well over a month, my dad is still running on temporary plates and registration. Now VW of Queensboro. I saw a car that I liked on their website, went to see it for myself, got there and it was there but had already been sold (Atlas Crosssport SEL R-Line: White with Saddle interior). Rafael Diaz walked me around and showed me the car; which had been sold. Explained the options and what made it different than the 2020 model. Gave me great prices on the 2020 model which he had on the lot; which I politely declined. Rafa was not pushy, he immediately understood that I had a preference. He told me that he could get me the exact car that I wanted, that it would take about 1 week. We ran through the numbers, however, I was not fully prepared to make a decision. Rafa asked what my ideal price would be, I explained that I need time to know. He understood gave me his card and we agree to speak again. That night I ran the numbers. It so happened that Rafa texted me to see if I had any thoughts. I was ready...lol...I gave him my offer. Rafa worked with Francisco (General Manager) and within 15min they texted me back and agreed to my offer. A few days later I went to pickup my car worked with David (Finance Manager), shared a few stories about our spouses and some laughs and I was out the door. Summary: Worked with Rafa (sales) for about 30min. That same night worked with Rafa for about 5min over text (excludes time the lapse in between responses). Work with David (finance) for about 15min; chatted for about another 10min (conversation was good...lol) walked around the car 10min. Drove home surprised my wife..she cried (from joy). The End! (Ps. My plates where ready, at pickup) I loved my experience at VW Queensboro, attention and efficiency like no other dealership I had ever dealt with (between my father and I we have had BMWs, Lexus, A few Toyotas and Hondas). I'm already thinking about my upgrade once the new Crosssport drops in the future. More
