Prestige`s selection of great cars in my price range was amazing and my sales rep Tony Monti was a true professional. His understanding and his ability to work within my credit history( which wasn`t good) made the process very smooth. Tony`s empathy and knowledge of each vehicle he showed me made me very comfortable. In the end i drove away with a great car at a good price. Kristen Smith was great - Management, not so much If I were only rating Kristen, I would give this 5 stars, the two star is due to the manager and appraisal team for my trade in. I purchased a 2010 T If I were only rating Kristen, I would give this 5 stars, the two star is due to the manager and appraisal team for my trade in. I purchased a 2010 Toyota Tundra that was priced very aggressively in favor of the consumer. 90% of the purchase was over the phone and email as I was out of the country and also live 4 1/2 hours from the dealership. The only part of the transaction that was not completed was my trade in value. My trade in was a 2008 Mazda 6 4 door hatchback, KBB and nada both had similar trade in value at $5,500 (for good condition, which is one step up from junk. My car was not perfect, but it was not junk and was in good condition and in complete working order with under 100,000 miles. The appraiser looked at my car, took it for a drive and worked those magic numbers in the back room with ??? and they told me it was only worth $3,000. They mentioned 2 safety recalls that had not been taken care of (which I didn't know about but they could take to any Mazda dealer to have fixed for free) and the classic car dealership sales saying "you have rust on the outer edge of your rotors, so we'll have to replace the rotors". I supposed all the 50k BMW's in the lot would also need to have all their rotors replaced as well. When I was told they would only give me 3k for my car I was ready to walk, Auto trader and cargurus are selling the Mazda 6 for a range of $6,400 to $9,000. In walks the manager to make a deal. He told my due to the low price of the Tundra they have no room to deal with my car as they need to recoup the money they are losing due to the low price of the car, After driving 4 1/2 hours, I settled for $3,500. The one star if given due to the nature of car sales and the managers that drive it. Yes, I could have walked away, drove the 4 1/2 hours home without the new truck (which actually took me 7 hours to get home due to accidents and northbound traffic). Most of us have all been in this situation where we find ourselves wanting a new vehicle and at times the logical part of the brain stops working. They knew I drove a long way and the cards were in their favor if they low balled my trade. In the end I love the truck, but if I had dealt with a local dealership, I would have walked and got a fair deal for my trade. If you deal with Kristen at Prestige, and you have no trade in, you'll be happy. More
