Over the course of the past few months, I have been looking for a low mile, pre-owned 911 and found a great 2011 911 C4S being offered by Porsche of Monterey. I contacted the dealership via the Porsch looking for a low mile, pre-owned 911 and found a great 2011 911 C4S being offered by Porsche of Monterey. I contacted the dealership via the Porsche.com site and received a very friendly and prompt response by John Bassett. He was very open to discussing price over the phone and via email, was extremely responsive and overall was a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately the timing didn't work for me with this car and it was purchased by another Porsche enthusiast. A few weeks later, there were two other 911s I was considering and I contacted John for some objective advice. John was extremely helpful, proactive, and went above and beyond expectations to provide me with critical guidance on what to look for and what information to request from the respective dealers on both vehicles to ensure I made an informed buying decision on my first 911. In fact, John was willing to work with me after hours and over the weekend! John's advice was key in helping me make my purchasing decision (2011 911 C4S with 3200 miles). Based on John's fantastic customer service, I'll be sure to contact him when I'm ready to purchase my next Porsche. More

I have been looking for a Porsche as my second car for several months. I visited several dealers in the san Francisco Bay Areaa and had some no so great experience. I finally found the car I want at the Monterey Porsche dealer, their service is great, very friendly, no sell pressure. Price was excellent. I drove two hours to monterey to purchase the car and I highly recommend this dealership. More
I had the best experience in buying a car that I have had in my 30 years of driving! Peter was not only professional, but he also made my purchase fun! His patience was commendable. We were treated as if we we were buying one of those $150000 cars in the showroom. He impressed us that he new how to use all of the buttons in this very complex car. He had obviously done his homework and did not treat us like "bottom feeders". They treated us like they were genuinally happy for our business. Was initially invited for a Saturday "Drive" day - nice hospitality with snacks, but a GREAT opportunity to drive new models. Wanted to compare the latest 911 against my older one, but was smit day - nice hospitality with snacks, but a GREAT opportunity to drive new models. Wanted to compare the latest 911 against my older one, but was smitten by the Boxster. Noticed a Boxster Spyder on the floor, but didn't pay it much attention. Came back a month later after doing my homework and really looked the Spyder over. It was used but with only 250 miles. I figured I would wait and order one later as the floor model wasn't quite what I would order for myself. During each of these visits I was given just the right amount of attention by the Sales staff. Another month went by and I saw the Boxster Spyder advertised at a price $10K lower than when I first saw it. Sensing true value, I was lured back, but needed to be sure that the car met approval at home. My wife & I visited the dealership to check out the Spyder. Lance Gearing was incredibly accommodating, even providing a test ride for my wife who was time constrained. Lance & Larry Wendell were very patient with me as I went through my purchase decision process, ultimately buying the car. WHile waiting for the paperwork to be processed, Lance & I engaged in interesting conversation, striking up a friendly relationship in a manner of minutes. Steve Rothstein made the required paperwork a breeze to sail through, even when I had to sail that sea three times (which was not an issue with Porsche of Monterey, but rather the logistics of my financing). As has been said, the purchase experience is all about the interpersonal relationships between the buyer (you & me) and the dealership staff. I had a car deal that was hard to understand fully on the front side. My situation was that I found myself in need of a good solid driver. My youngest son had been accepted and was attending ucla in lA and I was driving back and forth. I had previously sold my Mercedes to a friend who wife had became I'll and they needed a good car. I was left with a 2008 chevy silverado and several performance sport cars, all two seaters. I am a very fussy car owner and my cars are all very well sorted out mostly rare and desirable but I might add they are marketed correctly. I dud not have the time to do this. I also believe in a win, win situation and profits not a bad word. So my deal was I needed to trade the truck(low miles, all the bells etc) and possibly the best last year produced NSX in the country. Thus car had 3000 miles on it. I had checked extensively around with other dealiers and knew what they would do. I went to Porsche iin Monterey and was treated wonderfully my salesman, John basset was just wonderful. He put in in a vehicle that was perfect for my needs and gave me a very fair value for my trades. His follow through was and continues to be exceptional. John is the head of Internet sales and I watched and was happy to see the NSX I traded did far better than even I expected. I was glad because John stepped up for me on my purchase and my trades and my trades in turn did well for your store. John took a giant leap of faith my trades were a good thing for your store Nice way to do business. After browsing the lot at Porsche of Monterey for several weeks and knowing they had the EXACT car I'd been looking for, I knew it was time for a test drive. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon in August 201 weeks and knowing they had the EXACT car I'd been looking for, I knew it was time for a test drive. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon in August 2010 for the purpose of a test drive only. The salesman, Peter Savale greeted me and promptly acquired the keys to what would become my very first Porsche. My car of choice was a silver 2006 Cayman S. I had done my homework and thought I knew everything about the car. Peter was quick to prove me wrong. His level of knowledge on the car, his enthusiasm about such an amazing driving machine, and the professionalism he displayed was more than I could have ever expected. Needless to say, I drove away that very same day with my very first, and certainly not my last Porsche. In all of my years of buying cars, this experience was by far the best and most memorable. These guys are awesome and I will certainly buy from them again!!! More
Last April I traded my '07 GT3 for a stunning 2010 GT3 "PTS" in Mexico Blue. I worked with Peter Savale as my sales guy, and Steve Rothstein in finance.
