Was initially invited for a Saturday "Drive" day - nice hospitality with snacks, but a GREAT opportunity to drive new models. Wanted to compare the latest 911 against my older one, but was smitten by the Boxster. Noticed a Boxster Spyder on the floor, but didn't pay it much attention. Came back a month later after doing my homework and really looked the Spyder over. It was used but with only 250 miles. I figured I would wait and order one later as the floor model wasn't quite what I would order for myself. During each of these visits I was given just the right amount of attention by the Sales staff. Another month went by and I saw the Boxster Spyder advertised at a price $10K lower than when I first saw it. Sensing true value, I was lured back, but needed to be sure that the car met approval at home. My wife & I visited the dealership to check out the Spyder. Lance Gearing was incredibly accommodating, even providing a test ride for my wife who was time constrained. Lance & Larry Wendell were very patient with me as I went through my purchase decision process, ultimately buying the car. WHile waiting for the paperwork to be processed, Lance & I engaged in interesting conversation, striking up a friendly relationship in a manner of minutes. Steve Rothstein made the required paperwork a breeze to sail through, even when I had to sail that sea three times (which was not an issue with Porsche of Monterey, but rather the logistics of my financing). As has been said, the purchase experience is all about the interpersonal relationships between the buyer (you & me) and the dealership staff. I had a car deal that was hard to understand fully on the front side. My situation was that I found myself in need of a good solid driver. I was left with a 2008 chevy silverado and several performance sport cars, all two seaters. I am a very fussy car owner and my cars are all very well sorted out mostly rare and desirable but I might add they are marketed correctly. I dud not have the time to do this. I also believe in a win, win situation and profits not a bad word. So my deal was I needed to trade the truck(low miles, all the bells etc) and possibly the best last year produced NSX in the country. Thus car had 3000 miles on it. I had checked extensively around with other dealiers and knew what they would do. I went to Porsche iin Monterey and was treated wonderfully my salesman, John basset was just wonderful. He put in in a vehicle that was perfect for my needs and gave me a very fair value for my trades. His follow through was and continues to be exceptional. John is the head of Internet sales and I watched and was happy to see the NSX I traded did far better than even I expected. I was glad because John stepped up for me on my purchase and my trades and my trades in turn did well for your store. John took a giant leap of faith my trades were a good thing for your store Nice way to do business. After browsing the lot at Porsche of Monterey for several weeks and knowing they had the EXACT car I'd been looking for, I knew it was time for a test drive. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon in August 201 weeks and knowing they had the EXACT car I'd been looking for, I knew it was time for a test drive. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon in August 2010 for the purpose of a test drive only. The salesman, Peter Savale greeted me and promptly acquired the keys to what would become my very first Porsche. My car of choice was a silver 2006 Cayman S. I had done my homework and thought I knew everything about the car. Peter was quick to prove me wrong. His level of knowledge on the car, his enthusiasm about such an amazing driving machine, and the professionalism he displayed was more than I could have ever expected. Needless to say, I drove away that very same day with my very first, and certainly not my last Porsche. In all of my years of buying cars, this experience was by far the best and most memorable. These guys are awesome and I will certainly buy from them again!!! More
Last April I traded my '07 GT3 for a stunning 2010 GT3 "PTS" in Mexico Blue. I worked with Peter Savale as my sales guy, and Steve Rothstein in finance. I had very positive experience with Porsche of Monterey and most notably, John Bassett. I would recommend the dealership and him as a salesman to anyone. I visited the dealer multiple times, test driving a few cars, and waiting for the one that met my desires and price range. He was instrumental in finding me the car of my dreams, notifying me first of any new cars that I may be interested as they were acquired by the dealer. Every time I came to the dealership everyone was friendly, I felt comfortable, and felt no pressure in rushing to make a purchase. I was extremely happy that I was taken seriously by John and the sales team even though I am young (<30) and this was my first Porsche. Additionally, John and the dealership took care of every concern I had even after I bought the car and took it home. If you are looking for a Porsche, new or used, this is the place to go. More
Terrific dealership - very concerned about developing a long term relationship with its customers. I boaught a used 2007 Cayman and teh price was very reasonable. I have bought three cars from this dealer and have 3 older ones (356s) as well that they service. In terms of sales they listen well, find alternatives that meet your needs, and are aggressive in pricin older ones (356s) as well that they service. I have dealt with two other high end car dealers for service and they are much less fruendly and flexible. This dealer will always go the extra mile to help the customer. More

As a female, buying a car has always been a very unpleasant experience. Car salesman inevitably speak to my husband only, make eye contact with my husband only, these actions make me feel like a second class citizen. John Bassett is number one in my books. Once he knew that I was the purchaser of the vehicle the communication was 100% between John and myself. I had a wonderful experience, I just can't say enough. More

The dealership was not local for us and is 80 miles from home. We had to rely on our communications. All correspondence was professional and accurate. He was willing to put the time into providing all information about the car. We purchased one of their used cars that was not a Porsche and was the lowest price car on the lot and We felt like we were treated as if I was purchasing a GT3. They were also great with our small children and acknowledged that they were there and also gave them drinks. The dealer prep on the used car was also well done and they waxed the car and filled it up before we took it home. When we are ready to purchase another car I will be calling John Bassett. More
