Tony at Phillips Toyota is the worst! I reached out to them to purchase a RAV4 and Tony barley gave me the time of day. When I told them about my trade he low balled offering only $1,000 I reached out to them to purchase a RAV4 and Tony barley gave me the time of day. When I told them about my trade he low balled offering only $1,000 even though I had told him other dears had appraised it at $6,000. He could have cared less and said nothing we can do. I ended up going to RC Hill and they gave me $7,000 for my trade and got me into the RAV4 I was looking for. Don’t waste you time at this place. More
Salesman ran a hard check stating he wasn’t able to do a soft check & that no one does soft checks (this is a lie, I’ve had many dealers do soft checks for me). Only ran one and did not get all the info from the multiple lenders with various rates for us either. First told us he could then said he couldn’t after the hit & then that it would be a hard inquiry every car we looked at. Financing was not what it could be or what it is at other dealerships. I know we can get a car with no money down, but he insisted we needed to put some $2k down no matter what. We came in from a test drive & he was researching personal purchases acting like the car was sold. Tried to brush me off when I said the a/c was faltering then tried to tell us the broken a/c was a standard function. Pretty unhappy with our experience. Said he couldn’t take much money off the broken car. Instead of taking 4-5k out the door in cash as is, he said he prefers to let it sit there & sell it at auction. Said he could not budge much on any prices listed. The car said 9k on the windshield & he tried to say it was 11k then kept going back & forth on the amount. We are trying to make a smart purchase, but technically could’ve walked out with any car from the lot. Unfortunately we won’t be back to do business with this salesman. Admitted he would lie to us which was probably the most respectable point in the whole interaction. Very disappointed. More
Sold car out from underneath me. Told them I wanted to purchase a Tundra over the phone to make sure the vehicle wasn’t sold before I could pick it up since I am out of town.
