I wanted a used Toyota Prius and had researched them quite a bit. My plan was to stop by Legacy simply to do more research by seeing cars on the lot. As soon as I parked, Mr. Ron Smith casually walked quite a bit. My plan was to stop by Legacy simply to do more research by seeing cars on the lot. As soon as I parked, Mr. Ron Smith casually walked over, courteously greeted me and inquired about what I was looking for. He was very calm, friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, genuine and good- humored. I was grateful that at no time did he pressure me, but instead respected my wishes to look at the car that I felt best met my needs. In fact, he politely asked me what it was that I wanted in a car. That reinforced my desire to reflect on what I truly needed. I discovered that the Prius II, which was available at a very affordable price, was a perfect fit. The comprehensive test drive confirmed my decision. Mr. Smith answered my questions, acknowledged when he didn't know one answer and went straight to the mechanics for the correct answer. He was a great listener. He calmly and meticulously prepared the necessary papers and brought me a couple of bottles of drinking water (that I later inadvertently learned he had paid for) after asking me if I would like something to drink. He was so unlike the stereotypical fast- talking- without- listening car salesman that I had expected and was trying to stay away from when I initially parked my car. He was able to get me the best price for my old former car, which I traded in. While Mr. Smith was away for several minutes tending to appropriate matters regarding my car purchase, Mr. Harrison walked over, sat down and chatted with me about the car I was looking at and shared his personal experience with his Prius. Again, no pressure, simply amiability, good-humor, genuineness and competency. Later he clearly explained warranties and finances and efficiently facilitated signing of the many necessary forms. When I returned the next day with my former car's title, he installed the mats I'd purchased for the back and the bumper guard. I purchased the accessories after he shared that he had personally found them useful. Once more, there was no pressure to purchase anything. He walked with me to the counter where another kind employee looked up availability and prices for me. It felt to me that both employees I've named showed exceptional customer service. The price for the car was lower for the quality and mileage than I'd seen elsewhere- which surprised me. Thanks to both men, I was able to enjoy the fun of driving my beautiful, safe, cost-effective and energy efficient Prius home the day I found it. During the tour of Legacy that Mr. Smith had guided me through earlier, it felt like customers' needs were foremost at each point- a final reason for my outstanding review of my overall experience. Moses was extremely helpful in scheduling and was flexible with two visits on the same day because I had to schedule around a busy day. I really appreciated him getting things worked in for me. This is my third purchase with Legacy Toyota and have enjoyed both their sales department and maintenance. I find the staff of both to be friendly, efficient and helpful. My only bad experience was with the tire warranty on my 2011 Corolla that was also a new car purchase. The tire fell apart at 6,000 miles and firestone would not cover it. Said it failed because we had it improperly inflated which was not true. We had just had the car serviced a few weeks before and the tire pressure was checked. It's a bitter pill to have to spend over $100 on a tire on a new car with 6,000 miles on it. This, however, was not a reflection on Legacy Toyota but Toyota corporation should definitely look into their relationship with tire dealers as they do not seem at all interested in taking care of Toyota customers. We went to Toyota not really expecting to buy that particular day. We had been at the Ford dealership and did not appreciate the way they put pressure on us and we were not really "kept in the loop". particular day. We decided to go to Toyota to just "see" what was available and try one of the cars --as we had never owned a Toyota. We really liked the manner in which we were treated -- no pressure. "Let's just look and see what you think" was what Ellis stressed. We really liked the car we did a test drive in and we liked the way that they knew just what we could possibly "get into" with our given finances. We were all on the same page. Everyone that worked on the deal was fantastic and Ellis was very helpful, friendly and honest. More
The car was serviced two days earlier. The next day a vacuum hose came off and the check engine light came on.
