Summary of Past Experience with Performance Volvo: Summary of Past Experience with Performance Volvo: Sales: Jack Lefkowith - Professional, extremely helpful, an Asset to his Dealership Service D Summary of Past Experience with Performance Volvo: Sales: Jack Lefkowith - Professional, extremely helpful, an Asset to his Dealership Service Department - Josh, Paul - very helpful UNTIL there is a service problem, then full of excuses, unable to find the "problem(s)" with the vehicle that are clear, heard or felt by the owner. 75,000 mile Volvo service - picked up the vehicle, 8 miles from the dealership, RED check engine light comes on - Engine coolant system-STOP ENGINE light comes on. Called Service Department and explained the situation. I was asked if I could come back to the Dealership (in 5 o'clock rush hour traffic) and that the car needed to "Burp" since the recent engine coolant flush, or I could purchase some and add it myself. Luckily, I was close to a convenience store so I bought a gallon and added a 1/4 of it to the engine. After I made it home, light came on again and I added the remainder of the container. After a few days engine acted worse than the original problem I brought it in for. They did come to my place of emploment to pick up the car and deliver a loaner for a second round of service. After Paying $1700.00 for initial service, they diagnosed the problem, stating that what they had repaired "masked" the original problem and it would cost $369.00 more to fix. After stating (not so nicely) that I would not pay that amount and asked for the contact information of the Dealership Owner, they dropped it to the price of the part that needed replaced. When Josh delivered the vehicle to me he reviewed other concerns I had with the car, and either they were hundreds more to fix, or the mechanics "couldn't replicate the problem". Also stated that my rear windshield wiper arm was broken. What I found incredidible is that the wiper blade was replaced (I was charged for it) during the 75,000 mile service, and in just a few days it mysteriously broke. I went to check it after Josh had left, and it fell apart in my hands. I am just so disappointed, I originally thought I had found a great dealership, but not so unless there are no issues that need addressing. Just an FYI Performance Volvo - -Your "Certified" Volvo mechanics are horrendous, incredibly NOT thorough, "can't Replicate" obvious issues even with the aid of computers, and don't go out of their way for anything (to even lubricate an obviously creaking driver's side door). I would not trust them to fix a skateboard. Oh, and by the way, my engine still is not running correctly after all of this, but sadly I do not trust them to even return for "Service". Being exceptional with customers is easy when there are no real issues...and Performance service Department, YOU FAILED. I will submit my survey as such. More

I searched various sites looking for good deals and came across a beautiful car with extremely low miles and a reasonable price. I spoke with the internet sales person Sarah, who was very nice. She answer across a beautiful car with extremely low miles and a reasonable price. I spoke with the internet sales person Sarah, who was very nice. She answered all my questions about the car so I decided to drive the 2 hours from Philadelphia to look at the car. Greg Deland, the salesman I worked with was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle I purchased. YES, I said purchased!!!!! He even showed me how to put my car seat in the car securely using the latch locks which I had no idea of how to use. I wouldn't think too many salesman would be that familiar with a vehicle. :) I definitely feel that I received a good deal and that the 2 hour drive from Philadelphia was worth it. Thank you very much!!!!! More

Hands down worst experience at a dealership! I bought a 2010 used BMW from Performance Volvo in October of 2012. By February 2013, my brakes were grinding. I took it in to Performance for service and I was 2010 used BMW from Performance Volvo in October of 2012. By February 2013, my brakes were grinding. I took it in to Performance for service and I was informed that the calipert pins were not properly lubricated which had worn through the brakes and rotors. This happened on a Monday. I was assured I would have my car by Tuesday with changed brakes and rotors. After many excuses and $450, I got my car back on Thursday, but I was instructed to take my car to BMW to have the service light reset. I made an appointment and took it in on Friday to BMW. They told me they could not reset the service light because the car was overdue for an oil change and needed a new air filter. I called Performance and they said they did not perform those services because they were not due, yet. I told BMW to do what they needed to do in order to be able to reset the light. While changing the oil, they discovered SLUDGE, which is most commonly caused by someone not changing the oil, and can lead to ENGINE FAILURE. BMW said the last record they had for an oil change was 41,000 miles ago and the car indicated that the oil was 17,000 miles OVERDUE for a change. They also informed me that there was no way that if Performance had checked the car they would have missed this. Their advice? GET RID OF THE CAR! I took the car to a third party mechanic for a second opinion. He put a probe in the car and gave me the exact same diagnosis: sludge leading to engine failure because the oil hadn't been changed regularly. AND that Performance should have caught it before they sold it. I had bought the car 4 months and 6000 miles prior to this from Performance and was being told repeatedly that engine failure was impending. Essentially Performance sold me a ticking time bomb. It was not a question of if, but when. So after all this, what was Performance's proposed solution? Take the time bomb back and return my money? NO. They cleaned the engine and wanted to sell me a new RAV4 and leave me almost $6,000 worse for the wear because they sold me a car with sludge in it. No thanks, Performance. I will NEVER buy a car from you again. Who knows what else they don't check. More

This is a BUYER BEWARE dealership and here is why. We came to an agreement on a 2008 Ford Taurus Limited with 47K miles on Saturday July 7, 2012. ($12,500 and two new tires for the rear.) This was not a came to an agreement on a 2008 Ford Taurus Limited with 47K miles on Saturday July 7, 2012. ($12,500 and two new tires for the rear.) This was not a great deal but it was not a bad deal either. It was a fair deal. The car passed Pennsylvania inspection. By Wednesday, financing was complete and we went to pick up the car. They had not put on the new tires on the rear when we picked it up and offered me $200. I had not done homework to see what two tires would cost and because we did not have time to wait around for them to put on the tires (they knew I was coming on that day at that time), I accepted the offer. They had gave me no reason at that time to think they would take advantage of me. I found out later that night the cheapest tires I could find were $165+tax. OK I learned my lesson on this part of the deal. Because we live in Maryland it must pass the Maryland safety inspection before we can get the license plates. The very next day we took the car to my mechanic that I use for all my vehicles (very trustworthy) and this PA inspected vehicle’s rack (of the rack and pinion steering) had too much play plus the left rear hazard, turn signal, and stop light were burned out. Thus it failed inspection. Total cost to repair minus the inspection cost was about $800. (I had expected there to be about $200 but not this much.) These safety items had to be repaired in order to get the license and title in Maryland. When confronted the salesman who I worked with Greg Deland would not return any calls or emails on this topic. The sales manager, Dennis McNamera, basically delayed me for a week or so and finally pulled their PA inspection record. Since that report that their mechanics (I assume) performed had none of the problems indicated, he basically told me they would do nothing and I was on my own. They do not back the used cars that they sell. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. BUYER BEWARE. More

I have purchased half a dozen vehicles at Performance Toyota Volvo over the past 20 years. I have always received excellent service from both the Sales and Service Departments. My most recent purchase Toyota Volvo over the past 20 years. I have always received excellent service from both the Sales and Service Departments. My most recent purchase was a Volvo XC90 SUV in July 2012. Jack Lefkowith, Sales Consultant for this purchase, was highly knowledgeable about all aspects of the vehicle as well as the comparable features on other Volvo and Toyota SUV's. He conducted the entire process in a low-pressure, friendly manner. When it got down to negotiating the purchase price, once again, everything was low-pressure, and I received most of the additional discount I requested. Why do I recommend this dealership? The short answer is, over 20 years, I have come to know and trust the people who work there. More
