If I could give zero Stars I would do that. Ahead of time, they gave me a price for the car... what I expected to see was a car that matches the quality for the price. What I saw... scratches Ahead of time, they gave me a price for the car... what I expected to see was a car that matches the quality for the price. What I saw... scratches, beat up bumper and a sales guy (Mike) unwilling to take the time with me that was needed. Was the car worth the price? Not the way it looked. Was my 2.5 hour drive each way worth it? No. I am not sure what the business model is but... Customer Service goes a long way. I was asking to put down a refundable deposit so I could get my wife to take a look. I was 90% sure I would have purchased the car had he agreed. Since he did not, I walked. Again... simple customer service.... goes a long way! Now for the pricing: dealer fee of $995 and processing fee of $350, in addition to ttl. Those fees were the reason I walked. More
Vinnie was excellent and went above and beyond to make our shopping experience wonderful. I broke my foot the day after we picked out my MINI and Vinnie arranged to deliver the car to my home. This is our seventh car we have purchased from Passport over the years and, every single time, we've not been disappointed, at all! Went to the dealership fully intent on buying a used vehicle that was offered. After going on a test drive and starting the process of purchasing the vehicle, the General Manager David approached us wit vehicle that was offered. After going on a test drive and starting the process of purchasing the vehicle, the General Manager David approached us with concerns regarding my fiancée's ID verification. For some reason, his Florida license wouldn't scan in their app software. He then insinuated that we were potentially trying to use a fake ID to purchase the vehicle. He also said that if myself and my fiancée were on the vehicle loan it would not be an issue because he would have a verified ID. We then applied for a loam together and were approved, but he still did not want us to go home with the vehicle until we could physically get the money to the dealership. When I went to get contact information of someone above him to file a complaint, he condescended me several times. Us both being military, me and my fiancée were both offended and embarrassed to be accused of being criminals in a showroom full of people. Would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. Our sales rep Jose was excellent throughout the whole thing, however. I went back into the dealership to get owner contact info or info for anyone above the General Manager on site. David Hellmuth continued to belittle me and would not allow me to contact anyone other than him on this matter. I have never been so disrespected in my life by anyone. Especially not someone that I am trying to give my money to. More
I went in primarily for warrant work. That was exceptional. I asked that they also check out about 6 other items. Some they took care of, no charge. Tech then sat down with me and spent a lot o exceptional. I asked that they also check out about 6 other items. Some they took care of, no charge. My experience with Passport Mini of Alexandria was the absolute best. My salesman and finance lady, Vinnie and Paula were great. They made me feel like part of the team. Also the cashier at this location absolute best. My salesman and finance lady, Vinnie and Paula were great. They made me feel like part of the team. Also the cashier at this location was great, unfortunately I can’t remember her name but she was very sweet. I had a few issues but Vinnie and Paula made it so those issues were painless and easy to overlook. This a 5 star car buying experience. Please ask for Vinnie if you’re looking for a Mini in Alexandria. More
As an informed consumer, having learned my lesson, I share with you passport mini of Alexandria didn’t know their service products, their finance policies, or trade in process. The icing on the cake is share with you passport mini of Alexandria didn’t know their service products, their finance policies, or trade in process. The icing on the cake is that amidst a massive life altering, global pandemic, they will squander your money, your time, with misinformation but at least it was polite. #informedconsumer #shopelsewhere #pandemicwhat? #spendwisely #youcantakeyourpolitebsandshoveit Backstory- Dec ‘20- i received an unsolicited call from passport mini of Alexandria to make an appt to trade in/sell car- low miles, great shape, extended warranty ? (Term verify) , low used inventory- good offer. After thinking on it for a few weeks I decided i would do this as I wanted a bigger, 4 door car, due to my job needs and hoped to planned to reduce my overall car payments/ insurance as things have been tight financially amidst covid. Feb 16- appt to have car valued by mini , told the extended value could be prorated 2599 sept 20 purchase or transferred with sale of car. This is with the contract terms in hand. at this point there was no reference informing me the warranty only holds value if transferred to another mini dealership. And I specifically asked and was told it wouldn’t add any more value to my quoted trade in as they had taken it into account. Feb 20 - sell car for higher trade in to another dealership - I call mini - transferred 5 times and end up in v.m at finance . The group I was told I needed to talk to. Feb 21- call mini - no one in finance answers Feb 22-friend calls and speaks to acting general mngr - told I must contact mini corporate as locally they can’t do anything to prorate as I was told misinformation. Feb 23-I call mini corporate. They say it’s all wrong. Have to speak to local. Feb 23- I speak with acting general manager. He politely tells me that I should have been a more “informed consumer” his staff were fairly new, didn’t know what they were saying, despite working for and being paid to know their product. I, the consumer, should NOT have relied on their word. Despite sharing said contract terms with them and being told differently, I would have eventually learned this was all false, misleading information. The implication that I should know more than the agents working on behalf of their brand even though I’m not paid to do that. Here I thought i received knowledge with service when I bought a car at the brand dealership. I was wrong. (heck their motto! ) Towards the end of our conversation Ahmed the acting general manager also states if I had sold to them, the value of my extended warranty (verify) would’ve only added hundreds to the trade and would that actually have made a difference? Another contradiction to previous information. And salt in the wound as I tried to make a financially sound decision with the information from the agents of mini. I politely inform him there are many people struggling amidst this pandemic economy and hundreds may mean something to me. Ultimately it’s not his place to decide how I spend, give, use my money. So yeah, I feel informed. No, thank you mini or Alexandria. For a “cool” brand your Not so cool after all. More
