Palisades Volvo

I am a long time Volvo customer and have generally had good experiences with this dealer. However, since they have had ownership/management turnover, this place is now a disaster. I took my Volvo here fo good experiences with this dealer. However, since they have had ownership/management turnover, this place is now a disaster. I took my Volvo here for general service, but upon inspection, they informed me that I needed new brakes, suspension work, engine mounts, as well as scheduled maintenance. Having trusted this dealer(and Volvo) for a long time, I agreed. When I picked up the vehicle the next day, They gave me a long list of "service" they performed, including brakes. After paying over $2000, I drove off. I was very surprised to see that the brakes were worse than before, requiring me to almost press the pedal to the floor in order to achieve any stopping power. I discovered the next morning, that until the car warmed up, I had almost no brakes at all, where they acted like non-power braking. After taking the car back to them, they took the car for a 'test drive', whereby they returned it to me claiming this is "normal" when I asked why the braking is much worse than before, they told me that this is how they do brakes and I should wait about 1000 miles for them to "break in". Well here it is almost 2000 miles later and I basically have no brakes. I took the car to Midas where they made a simple adjustment and the brakes are now good as new. After paying over $2000 for major service, I am completely dissatisfied with ALL the work this dealer performed. I think the only thing they got right was the oil change and filter. Oh yea, even that they messed up where the filler cap was left off and the cold air vent tube was left disconnected. They tried and succeeded in upselling me service that was shoddy and non-existent. I will never go back to this dealer again, and I am even having doubts about ever buying another Volvo since this experience. More
