Consumer Fraud on Used Car Sale Prior to signing a PO for the sale and transport of a used 2018 Ford F150 on 4/15/20, Packey Webb Ford provided an inspection form upon request which Prior to signing a PO for the sale and transport of a used 2018 Ford F150 on 4/15/20, Packey Webb Ford provided an inspection form upon request which stated there was no exterior damage present on the vehicle. Images of the truck received prior to purchase also did not show any noticeable damage. This information used as the basis for the purchase of the vehicle. When the vehicle was delivered to my residence on 4/24/20, I noted that the transport company had indicated damage to the exterior of the vehicle at the time of pickup from the dealer on their delivery report. I immediately notified the dealer of the obvious, excessive damage, sent pictures, and provided two estimates for the repair (the lower of which was $2600). After unsuccessfully trying to get in contact with the used car manager for three weeks and not receiving a return call, he finally answered and blamed the transport company for the damage and refused to cover the cost of repair. Even though the transport company provided pictures showing the damage at the time of pickup in the dealer lot, Packey Webb has assumed no responsibility and maintains that the transport company is at fault. Packey Webb continues to refuse to reimburse me for the cost of repair or to pay to have the vehicle repaired at a location reasonably near my home in Virginia. More

Sat in the very clean waiting area and 30 minutes later my car was ready. I prepaid via maintenance plan so I got right in my car (they wiped down the steering wheel & gearshift, door handle, etc. before I got in) and off I went. More

I was blown away by their direct and honest pricing I received from my very first call. When I spoke with my sales rep Charles Franz over the phone, he was able to give me a cost that beat the other dealers I visited in person ( I went to 3 other Ford Dealers). So I was more than pleased when I showed up, he was a man of his word, and sold me the vehicle as promised on the phone. I have purchased about 19 vehicles in the past 14 years for my small business, and so I was expecting a little "negotiation" when I showed up in person. However, I was pleasantly surprised to learn Charles was a man of his word, and I didn't get any of that normal "car salesman" pitches I was expecting. Direct, Honest and Reliable. I called in the morning and made an offer on Ford Explorer Platinum with Ernie. He stated “the car is yours, I will get it pulled up and ready for you. When will you be down?”. I was driving from Sou Explorer Platinum with Ernie. He stated “the car is yours, I will get it pulled up and ready for you. When will you be down?”. I was driving from Southern WI. So with that comment, one would assume the car is on hold and it’s mine. On my 2 hour trip down, I received a call stating that someone else is looking at the vehicle but that they are also looking at 2 others... WTH?? I was upset and said Ernie we talked and said I would be down to purchase the vehicle. “Oh in IL we can’t put hold on vehicles without a buyers purchase form signed”..!?!?! He said it is not sold and they are leaning toward another vehicle. We got down there and as we are in the car inspecting it and getting excited to purchase it, he came out and said they bought it. This is very poor customer service why would you not explain to a buyer that the car can only be held if a buyer purchase form has been signed, when you know your customer/client has a 2 hour drive? Not after you have someone there purchasing it. I’m so disappointed and frustrated with this place. I would not recommend them at all. More
