Date issue happened: 5-25-24 I am writing this because I was corresponding by email with Chris Celis about purchasing a car. Chris sent me pricing sheets on two different vehicles. In both emai because I was corresponding by email with Chris Celis about purchasing a car. Chris sent me pricing sheets on two different vehicles. In both emails, he says that these were "cash" prices for the car. I showed up at the dealership and told them that I was comfortable with the price of the car and that I wanted to trade in my current car. They then took my car, inspected it and we came to an agreement that they would give me $19,400 for my trade in. The total "out the door cash price" for the new car was $52,753.61. I have it in writing that this was a "cash price". After having multiple opportunities to inform me about everything, Chris came back and said that "I had to finance the car if I wanted the $1000 rebate that was in the cash price that he quoted me". I told him that I don't appreciate the "bait & switch" tactic and that I expect the dealership to honor the price that was put in writing. He said that he would ask the manager. We waited 20 minutes and Chris never came back. He had a junior salesperson come back and try to tell us that we needed to take less for our trade than we had already agreed on. I told him that I expect that the dealership would honor the written price and he told me that they wouldn't do it and handed me the keys to my car back. I asked to speak with the manager and the manager would not speak with me. He had the junior salesperson come out and tell me that we would have to wait until he helped 3 other customers before he would talk to me. I have at least one witness that was present for all of these discussions and I have a written price sheet, which constitutes a contract, and they chose to breach it after I didn't go along with their bait & switch tactics. We had a great experience at this dealership because of our sales representative, Louis Fiagbar. We were very knowledgeable about the car we were interested in, even though we are usually Toyota buyers. Lo our sales representative, Louis Fiagbar. We were very knowledgeable about the car we were interested in, even though we are usually Toyota buyers. Louis was very knowledgeable about both makers and was able to give us important information about the CRV we were interested without being pushy or overbearing. He was a total professional and was very friendly and courteous. His hard work helped us to get the car and the deal we were interested in and we left the lot with the car the same day. If you are in the market for a car, I recommend asking for him by name. We have bought so many cars over the years and this was the first time we did not get turned off by an overly zealous sales rep. He was a pro from beginning to end! Thank you Louis Fiagbar! More
This is from on site visit to Pacific Honda, Kearny Mesa, SanDeigo. Salesman Collected drivers license and made a copy for himself, even though I was not test driving. He seemed as though he got what he wa SanDeigo. Salesman Collected drivers license and made a copy for himself, even though I was not test driving. He seemed as though he got what he wanted. He was Reluctant to give any info about the vehicle. For any info I asked was asked back with an irrelevant question. He himself ended the conversation and told me good bye. I later called sales manager asking why my drivers license was collected, he said they wouldn't and further he said the sales man could have a bad day and that we are all human beings and he assured me that my drivers license will not be mis used and that he would remove it from the system. I made a decision not to visit any other Honda facility and called Pacific honda for pricing details. He told he will call back, which he never did. More
They only want to sell - once you walk out of the door you’re “dead meat”. A senior executive Evan promised to call, probably meant in 2024. Greg the sales person had one objective - close the sale! I asked for an inspection prior to taking a 4,000+ mile road trip. The dealer was very receptive to my request. I was in and out within an hour. And the inspection was free. I am complaining about Pacific Honda in San Diego, California because of their poor sales team about communicating with paperwork and selling the vehicle. I was sold the vehicle on December 2022 and h California because of their poor sales team about communicating with paperwork and selling the vehicle. I was sold the vehicle on December 2022 and had a poor time and experience where I had to return to the location multiple times for paperwork and financial information issues. They were poor at communicating to my bank about payment details and I had to return multiple times to sign papers, which was ridiculous and a waste of my time. I also had the headache of dealing with their sales team, especially Richard Inzunza, about not communicating with me about how long I am waiting for to sign for the paperwork and threatened to walk out multiple times. Richard kept saying 10 minutes multiple times but no one still helped me. The finance team at this location is a disaster. They need more staff but even with a few staff, they still had poor communication and wanted to just crank out the sales but were not kind enough to just have a simple conversation. It was like speaking to robots. It was infuriating having to communicate back and forth, which gave me stress and I had multiple things to attend to but still was not taken care of. I plan to not come back here or refer this place to anyone. More
If you are looking for a dealer to waste your time on, then look no further than Pacific Honda. I reached out to this dealer on a Wednesday with the intent to purchase a vehicle from them, I was initially then look no further than Pacific Honda. I reached out to this dealer on a Wednesday with the intent to purchase a vehicle from them, I was initially informed they could hold the vehicle for 24 hours as I was looking to purchase it from a bordering state (Arizona). After I had asked if the hold could be extended to 48 hours to give me ample time to make work arrangements to get there, the used sales manager decided they could hold the car for 6 hours at most. So on Friday I informed them I would be getting there ASAP Saturday to pick up the vehicle. Saturday morning I am en route to the airport to take a flight there and I receive a call stating the vehicle actually has a recall so it cannot be sold until Monday. I asked if I could purchase the car outright since no one had purchased it yet and was informed that they cannot sell it to me until Monday and asked me to come there as they “do not sell vehicles unless it is in person”. Come Monday morning I call again to try to talk to someone to purchase the car and hold it until I can get to it and am informed that they cannot do a single thing with the car until the recall is finished and to call back later. I call again at approximately 3pm and am informed the recall was finished and the car was purchased. Clearly this dealer is only interested in wasting the time of individuals who have to make travel and work arrangements to try to do business with them and rather than explaining that things are unavailable, let individuals waste money to make arrangements. Don’t waste your time. More
