I'll tell you this store is a breath of fresh air. Visited numerous stores recommended by this site, and just went by Ourisman because I live next door. I was greeted by Ryan the sales manager, and introduced to Daryl Wire. They both took the time to actually figure out what I wanted. And then helped me get a great price. I recommend giving them a chance the other stores I went to were pushy and just tried to make me buy instead of helping me find what I wanted. Also they gave me a free lifetime warranty. More
Ourisman Alexandria Chevrolet is a Chevrolet/Buick/GMC dealer in my community. Initially, I had gone to the dealership to look at the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, Buick Regal and Chevrolet Volt. The dealer in my community. Initially, I had gone to the dealership to look at the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, Buick Regal and Chevrolet Volt. The sales consultant who assisted me at that time was outstanding. Two weeks later, I returned to the dealership to look at the Camaro Convertible again as well as the Buick Regal. As my sales consultant was busy with another customer, and out of courtesy to me, he introduced me to his colleague, Tyler Harper, so that I wouldn't need to wait indefinitely for him to free up. Unfortunately, this was where my disappointing experience began. Mr. Harper was friendly and relaxed and was able to answer most of my questions to my satisfaction. I asked to have Ourisman's used car manager, Mr. Bruce Polansky, appraise my 3 year old, 12k mile, in PRISTINE condition, GM vehicle. Mr. Harper told me he was apparently tied up with another customer and, as I was in no particular hurry, I asked Mr. Harper to set up an appt. for me with Mr. Polansky to have my vehicle(s) appraised ASAP. During our conversation, Mr. Harper asked me what I expected to receive on my trade-ins and I told him “top dollar” (without stating an actual dollar amount - I had done my homework, however). Mr. Harper responded by stating that I should NOT expect to receive top dollar for my trade-ins and that very few vehicles ever receive top dollar for trade-in and that I “should expect to receive low to mid trade-in value”. I did not perceive his comment as projecting a positive, or even a possible let’s-see if we can do that for you” attitude. Who in their right mind wants to hear from a sales consultant who hasn't even looked at or inspected the vehicle that “you shouldn't expect top trade-in value for your car”? I certainly didn't! 48 hrs. after my visit to the dealership, I still had not heard back from either Mr. Harper or from the used car manager, Mr. Bruce Polansky, regarding an appointment. I found that to be somewhat annoying and, therewith, I seized the initiative, called up the dealership and made the appt. with Mr. Polansky myself. Mr. Polansky seemed friendly enough and I told him I was possibly interested in trading in TWO 2008 - extremely low mileage GM vehicles in PRISTINE condition “but only if the numbers are right”. I had the titles to both vehicles in-hand and I was very happy with my cars, therefore not in a position where I had to buy or was “hot to trot” on a new car - something else just caught my eye and I was investigating prices, so-to-speak. Mr. Polansky and I had a conversation about the vehicle I brought in for him to appraise and I said to him “give your “best one-time offer”. He ended up offering me the MINIMUM trade-in value per NADA and Kelly Blue Book listings on a 2008 GM vehicle with ALL factory options, additional GM vehicle-specific accessories and only 12k miles on a 2 yr. 11 month old car and $17,500 for a 2008 GM 2 seat roadster with only 4k miles, both vehicles accident-free, in PRISTINE / showroom condition, which had always been serviced at their dealership with title in-hand. I believe many people would regard that as a “low-ball” offer - $1500-$2500 per vehicle under what I expected as the mimimum trade-value offer - which is still below “top dollar” trade-in value per NADA and KBB guides. I told him that his offer certainly was not enough and I made no further effort to try and negotiate a better price with him as I wasn't desperate to trade / buy. As I told him initially; “give me your best one-time offer.” Ergo, the following day, I visited another dealer and, not only did they offer me a combined total of $5000. more than did Ourisman’s used car manager for my two vehicles. They even purchased my second vehicle “sight unseen” based on their confidence and conviction of knowing that my two vehicles had always been serviced at the same GM dealer (Ourisman Alexandria Chevrolet!), documented low mileage and clean CarFax reports (and they saw the condition of the one car I drove to their dealership). They now have my two 2008 GM vehicles listed for sale on their website as “GM Certified Pre-Owned” with an additional extended warranty (one of my two cars sold this week). Koons Chevrolet really wanted my business and worked hard to earn it and I didn’t get “raked over the coals” on the price of a new 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, either as I qualified for a pre-negotiated price via USAA's car-buying service. Koons did right by me and, despite their location being 15-20 miles from my residence, they will be my 1st dealership of choice when considering the purchase of a new GM vehicle in the future. Perhaps Ourisman Alexandria Chevrolet’s “upper management” might consider periodically re-evaluating the “mindset” and attitude of some of its employees and whether these individuals are representing the dealership in the manner it wants to do business and be regarded by the public. When another dealer offers 5k over what Ourisman’s used car manager offered, that’s one heck of a difference. If Ourisman were a "mom & pop" store, I could see the rationale for that type of an offer. The car-buying process, however, should be about buying and selling vehicles as well as treating the customer with dignity, not only with a smile but with the attitude of “doing right by the customer”. This is accomplished by extending a fair and reasonable offer, not insulting them by leaving them with the impression that they want to “get the better of them". Perception is reality. More
Ourisman Chevrolet Alexandria are scamming, price gouging sharks. Service advisor Jim (James) is a rip-off artist (scammer)!!!!!! Quoted me 1500.00 for service until I got my fleet service involved. The p sharks. Service advisor Jim (James) is a rip-off artist (scammer)!!!!!! Quoted me 1500.00 for service until I got my fleet service involved. The price was almost cut in half. He also misled my fleet service by saying my vehicle was not towed in when it was him who had to locate the keys the tow truck driver had dropped off. Ourisman of Alexandria are sleezy sharks who prey upon customers. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM FOR SERVICE!!!!! More
I had a price quote for an Ourisman Chevrolet in Maryland and thought since they were in the same family, I would stop here and see if they would honor the price. They wouldn't honor the price which was kin and thought since they were in the same family, I would stop here and see if they would honor the price. They wouldn't honor the price which was kind of surprising, but the crazy thing is one of the salesmen told me he was the regional rep for Ourisman for the website I used to get my quote and that the Maryland dealerships were deceitful and lying about the price I was emailed. He said it included a USAA discount (I don't qualify for this) and they would tell me that when I got there. So, I went back to my car, called the Maryland dealership and asked them point blank about the price I had. They told me that was the price and it had nothing to do with a USAA discount. I went to the Ourisman in Marlow Heights, MD and they sold me the car for the excellent price from the True Car website and gave me true blue book value for my trade-in. I understand competition is tough in the auto industry, but to go so far as to say a dealership in your own family of dealerships is deceitful and staffed by liars is pretty ridiculous and sleezy. If I was the Ourisman family, I would be ashamed of the behavior of this dealership and would take my name off of it. More
I found a vehicle online at this dealership and called them. I went in to look at the vehicle and explained that the price was okay, ofcourse it would have to come down a little. I came in the next day them. I went in to look at the vehicle and explained that the price was okay, ofcourse it would have to come down a little. I came in the next day to take the vehicle to a mechanic. The mechanic reported some minor issues such as cracked belts, non working exterior lights, rear wind shield wiper system, console broken, etc... as well as the tuneup, alignment, and tires. I paid the mechanic and returned the vehicle. I was told that these things would not be repaired and there would be no deal on the price. I remember being so shocked. I could not believe that "Ourisman" the Chevrolet dealership would try to sell me a vehicle with non working lights and windshield wipers as wells as offer no deal on the vehicle. I was specific and honest from the beginning in my request and in the end I found that I did not receive the same in return. I was absolutely astonished. I thought going to dealership meant great service and receiving a car that would at least pass an inspection. I am a cash payment so there is no financing involved and the fact that they expect almost fifteen dollars for a vehicle without working lights and wipers(and all the other malfunctions) shows they have no pride in providing a quality product. These things would cost them cents to fix. I can not express how disappointed I was and how hurt I was. I invested my time, money and family into this sale because I thought they were honest and that I would receive fair service. I left completely stunned and disappointed. More
Took my car( same one I bought there)in for an oil change and to get my radio looked at. I stood around for several minutes while employees ignored me and just sat there. when i finally had to make my pres and to get my radio looked at. I stood around for several minutes while employees ignored me and just sat there. when i finally had to make my presence know i got my car in. I was told a radio would need ordered and said ok. this was weeks ago and i still have not heard back. I called today about the radio and they said they would look into it. that was several hours ago and still no word. the customer service is the worst i have ever had to deal with and this is across all areas of the company. not just the service department. if you want a Chevy go somewhere else. do not waist your time or money here. I will go out of my way to a different dealership from now on to get my car looked at. More
