I tried to work with them yesterday to lease a car but found them to be scammers who tried to use a bait and switch on me. Beware. Also because cars are harder to find these days, they are marking up all of their cars with a “Dealer Fee”. We were looking to buy a 2022 Civic Sport. They marked it up with a $3,000 dealer fee. We went to Honda of Huntington Beach and worked with Gilbert to get a good and fair deal that worked for us and the dealership. First Honda in Simi Valley is also a great place to go - but never, ever Ocean Honda in Whittier! More

Saw a used Honda Civic on their website, and in 1 day I drove off the lot! Service was absolutely fantastic. Mario Castillo walked me through the entire process as this was my first time buying a car. He w drove off the lot! Service was absolutely fantastic. Mario Castillo walked me through the entire process as this was my first time buying a car. He was knowledgeable on all of the features my car came with and very personable. Once it came time to go into the finance office, I was taken care of by Vince Coronel. He was fantastic! He explained everything that I was signing multiple times for me and made sure I felt comfortable during the whole process. Both gentleman walked me out to my new car and made sure I was all set up with everything so needed. I cannot recommend Ocean Honda of Whittier enough. More

Let me tell you that this dealer has got some of the worst employees and customer service out there. I took a meeting with David who called me just to tell me he would call me back 15 minutes later to g worst employees and customer service out there. He then had his assistant Val call me to interrogate me about other quotes that I've received. ...Why are you worrying so much about your competition? And why are you calling me back, where's David? She persists on trying to get me to come down to the dealership when I told her that I only want to come down to write a check and drive off with the vehicle, especially with the resurgence of the pandemic. Mid sentence Val cuts me off and puts me on hold while I was explaining to her that David was supposed to be calling me to give me pricing not to harass me about pricing from other dealerships. I get on the phone with David and one of the first things he says to me is "I tried calling you a few times you didn't answer". wait.. LOL. are you joking??? Where can I attach an image of my call logs because this all happened literally in the span of an hour and a half and no David.... you didn't call me and on top of that you had your assistant Val call me (btw she's really moody and I had to ask several times before she disclosed her name because she knew she gave a really poor customer service experience). We go back and forth but long story short he quotes me an out the door price of over 30 grand for a 2020 Honda Accord Sport 1.5cvt. LOL man these workers are clowns, if you're at all an educated buyer please save yourself the energy and take your business elsewhere. These guys will pull every trick in the book, shady, sleazy salesmen. On top of that I have a quote in writing from these guys for $24,600. Truly an incredible experience for all the wrong reasons. This is by far the worst car dealership ever! I purchased my car last year in March so my car is less than 2 years old with only 24000 miles on it. I get into my car one morning and all my light in my car are going off I take it to the dealership and they tell me that my fuel injector needs to be cleaned out and its going to be over $300 to have it cleaned and they aren't even sure if that is the problem they would need to do that step first in order to further diagnose the problem. I then speak to the so called service manager name Gary and let me start off by saying I don't know how someone that talks like him even is a manager in the first place he was completely rude on the phone. "He has the nerve to tell me then come get your xxxx car!!" I went and picked up my car and they bring my car out to me and all of a sudden all my lights are off in car after they told me that I had put bad gas into my car. Let me just throw this out there as well I have another car same year same everything except that its a sport and mine is a EX-L and I put the same type of gas in that car and have never had any problems with it. They've lost a good customer along with everyone that came along with them. My mom was due to turn in her lease as well and I told her DO NOT go to this dealership at all they do not deserve our business! More
"Bank Loan" I finally got my loan with my bank. I did text the sales manager as to why he went with another bank and he texted me that my bank denied the loan. I I finally got my loan with my bank. Sales Manager stated that "That's true. We never knew or you mention you were a schools first member." That's when I new something was weird. I checked my 2 contracts. The reason I have two is because they (sales manager & rep) called me stated my payment will be reduced by 3 dollars a month. I told them I didn't care about that, then they both started calling me. So I said ill go in. I stopped at my bank asked them if there is something going on. My bank told me it takes two weeks for the loan to go through so they don't know. I went and signed the second contract. I now know why they did it, because the first loan didn't go through but they didn't tell me or I would of known they went with a different bank. I did ask them why the new contract and they stated again to lower my payment. Thy didn't tell me that the loan was reduced by $2,340.47 and they went with another bank. They did increase the interest so I still would have paid the same amount. More

However, I must take this opportunity to express my utmost admiration for just how well Ocean’s deception was executed. From the moment I received the call from Alejandra the "Internet technician", to the fumbling by Danny the salesman arranging the test drive of a car they said was on the lot but obviously wasn't and Luis’ seemingly innocent numerous re do’s of the documents in the Finance office during which therms were changed, to Clinton the "Manager" assurances that the $850 cost of the Security Package was removed from the sale price (this was hidden by Luis), it was a breathtakingly efficient way of extracting more money from this (now one-time) customer. Perhaps it’s one of the “oldest tricks in the book” but I’ve never been taken like Ocean took me. So, Bravo! I’ve shared my story Truecar.com and Honda Corporate none of who expressed any interest in what I had to say about the dishonest practices at Ocean. STAY AWAY. If they say they have your car on the lot, they probably don't. Be very careful in the Finance office. More
