I have purchased many cars over the years and by and large I've rearely had a bad experience but also rarely a great experience when purchasing a new or used automobile from a dealer, that is until I pu large I've rearely had a bad experience but also rarely a great experience when purchasing a new or used automobile from a dealer, that is until I purchased my 2011 Lincoln MKX from Paul Reeves at Northtowne Lincoln in North Kansas City, Mo. I first met Paul at the Great Kansas City Auto Show and immediately struck up a conversation with him regarding the new MKX that Lincoln was coming out with later in the year. Paul made sure I was fully informed and even introduced me to the Ford/Lincoln Rep from Detroit. I left the show knowing THAT was the car I wanted to buy even though I had looked at several hundred cars. My wife agreed and we both decided we would keep in contact with Paul due to his friendliness and lack of pressure to buy which he exhibited many times. North Kansas City Mo is an hour drive from my home in Lawrence Kansas. I stopped in to see my local Lincoln dealer to see when they would be receiving a new MKX for me to look at, all I received was a sales order shoved in my face with no answers to my questions. I left dissapointed. The next day I contacted Paul and told him that I was going to have some upcoming surgery, but I would like to see the car when ever it first came in. Oddly, Paul called me the next day and indicated they had a Lincoln Rep in who was driving the new MKX and invited me in to see it before he left. I did and placed an order the next day. The process to order the car could not have been easier. Our price was well below what we thought we might rhave to pay as I had done my home work as to what the dealer cost was going to be on this car. We traded in two cars and they gave us a firm bid on those two cars which also was quite generous given the transaction might be 60 dyas or more from happening. Paul obviously wanted our business. Our new car was deleivered a couple of months later once production began. However when we received it, the car was missing some options we had ordered, a snafu at the factory had caused it. Paul and his team immmediately jumped on the phone and found a nearly identical car in Nebraska and swapped cars with that dealer. I had my new MKX the next day. I frequently tell people in my business to measure relationships not by what goes right, but what do people do in that relationship when somethig goes wrong. Paul and his associates at Northtowne Lincoln have proved that they really care about their customers satisfaction, not only with this new car transaction, but later with a service problem I was having with my Local Lincoln dealer in Lawrence. I now drive the extra 50 miles to Northtowne to have all my service work done because their service department has the same customer satisfaction attitude that Paul Reeves has. It's more work for me, but I know things get done right, my car will always be returned clean and vacumed out, and I'm always given outstanding service. In todays world most companies have scrapped customer service to make their products and services more affordable. I understand this, and being a salesman myself, I don't subscribe to this theory. I have always believed that customer service is the bedrock on which any company is formed. I don't often fill out surveys because rarely do other companies give the quality of service that I personally give my clients. In Paul Reeves case and Northtowne Lincoln, I made an exception because they trully provided me a better price and outstanding service than I was expecting. Thats rare in todays world and for that reason I give both my best rating of 5 stars. More
I recently purchased a Volvo XC 70 sight unseen from Northtowne. I had never purchased a vehicle from a dealer, much less a dealer advertising on the internet. Paul was great to deal with. He was very responsive, even returning calls and emails on a Sunday. We agreed on an out the door price and he picked me up at the airport in the Volvo about a week later. The car was better than described, the price was below book and Paul kept his word regarding the agreed upon out the door price. I was waiting for additional charges to appear on my bill, to his credit they never did. Paperwork was done in about an hour, Paul recommended a great BBQ joint for lunch and I was on my way home. PAUL REEVES DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF LOCATING THE VEHICLE I WAS LOOKING FOR INCLUDING COLOR. NOT TO MENTION ALL THE TIME HE SPENT WITH ME GETTING ME ACCLIMANTED TO MY NEW 2010 MKX. I HAVE RETURNED TO THE DEA I WAS LOOKING FOR INCLUDING COLOR. NOT TO MENTION ALL THE TIME HE SPENT WITH ME GETTING ME ACCLIMANTED TO MY NEW 2010 MKX. I HAVE RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ASSISTANCE IN FIGURING OUT ONE OF THE MANY GADGETS ON MY MKX AND PAUL HAS BEEN OF THE UTMOST HELP IN ASSISTING ME. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND PAUL TO ANYONE SEEKING ASSISTANCE IN PURCHASING A VEHICLE BE IT NEW OR USED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN EQUALLY EFFICIENT THANKS TO DON BOLEK. NOT TO MENTION THE FINE JOB MIKE WARREN DID IN GETTING ALL THE INSURANCE PROBLEMS STRAIGHTINED OUT WHEN I GOT A LITTLE DING IN MY DOOR. NORTHTOWNE HAS A COMPLETE TEAM EFFORT THEY CAN BE PROUD OF. My total experience was very pleasant and I felt that I was treated as an old friend rather than just a perspective customer. I also appreciated the Sales Manager who after negotiations agreed to offer me what I believed to be a proper price for a trade-in I considered pristine. I also have received excellent service from different members of the service department. When I was concerned about the way the transmission shifted going uphill from my drive-way, they made every possible effort to diagnose the problem. When no apparent cause could be identified they assured me that a potential future problem was now on record and would be resolved if it continued to occur. More
