I had a great experience buying my first car from Northstar. I was contacting Mario through email prior but he was previously engaged and Blake jumped right in to make sure I was taken care of. My mom and I had a great time chatting away with Blake and Angela all throughout the test drive and financing. The 2015 Nissan Sentra was in beautiful condition and they had already put in so much work to make sure it was in perfect driving condition and even handled a part that had a recall on it. I couldn’t have wished for a faster or smoother buying process, can’t recommend them enough ! More
So glad to have our service transferred to Kelly Chevrolet, as per the GM higher management. They were actually appalled at what has transpired at North Star . The service department there is a joke and very demeaning to women in general. My husband has purchased several gmc trucks from Northstar. His HD Denali was leaking in the back window and when replaced, they scratched the truck, the window, and left a ghastly caulk line all around the back window...which is still leaking. Yes, my husband is meticulous with his vehicles, but with the price that is being paid...a certain quality is expected. When I picked up my husband's truck and asked why it was parked extremely close to another vehicle...I could not even open the door to get in..."Will" rolled his eyes at me, chuckled, did not even answer my question, and stomped off to move the truck. I would not send my worst enemy to Northstar for any service. It is such a shame because the sales department works so hard. But unfortunately sales are nothing if there isn't a service department willing to back up the product. Take your business elsewhere! More
After having a previous bad experience I gave them another opportunity to work on my truck. I needed to replace my windshield so I took it to the shop and then called my insurance company. Was an overall excellent experience at North Star Buick GMC. Even when we had to go back there because of a mess up with paper work. I purchased a certified 2014 Yukon about 18 months ago from this dealership. Upon looking at the car we noticed some bubbling in the paint on the rear fender. We purchased it because they had fixed severa from this dealership. Upon looking at the car we noticed some bubbling in the paint on the rear fender. We purchased it because they had fixed several other concerns, but wouldn’t fix the fender. What we didn’t realize was that this was rust. Repairing it should have been covered under warranty. Now it will cost us over $1000 to have it repaired. Buyer beware. I won’t buy a car from North Star again. More
Could not fix 2 year old car, even after 2 months on their lot. They kept giving me the run around and I ended up spending $2000 on a rental car, my car was never fixed. At 8 months pregnant I needed a vehicle to fit a soon-to-be family of 6. While the buying experience was fairly quick and painless, and certain work that was needed on the vehicle was disclosed at purchase, after 3 trips to an outside service shop and 1 to another dealer closer to me in the FIRST 3 WEEKS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, I was told that the vehicle needed a new transmission. Not only am I miffed, but also feel cheated and lied to. I never would have purchased this vehicle if I had been told about the transmission. We took the vehicle back to the dealership and their offer to "help" was a used transmission with the same mileage but we still have to pay the $1200 for labor. My vehicle has now been at dealership for over a week while they "fix" it, with promises it would be done by today at the latest. Their response when we called this morning - maybe early next week. So much for a reliable vehicle for my family. Thanks for nothing. More
Terrible I recently purchased a used truck from this dealer. While i took it for s test drive salesmen questioned me on why we where gonna take it on the highw I recently purchased a used truck from this dealer. While i took it for s test drive salesmen questioned me on why we where gonna take it on the highway only wanted to take a short test drive. Truck was advertised "as is" no warranty so that made me think. No check engine lights after test drive. Made a deal with them to purchase the truck with a 3month 3000 mile warranty and they accepted it on a Friday Went back next day to pick it up that evening check engine lights took it to dealer next day took me bs codes and cleared them and said it wasn't anything as i stood there and say the codes on there scan tool. 2 days later truck had tranny issues. Took it to dealer that Monday and spent 6hours there on them trying to band-Aid the issues. Took me everything was great. Pulled out of dealer and check engine light. was told i signed a 50/50 warranty which was fails was never told that and i had 2 options. Return the truck walk away or they would fix it one time for free. I then recently had to contact GM because I never received a phone call back from them for a week. Long story short in them three months the truck spent more time at the dealership then at my house in my possession. Not only did the sales manager act unprofessional towards me their mechanics have no idea what they are working on our dealing with to resolve issues with my vehicle. The last time it was in for service items were stolen from my vehicle and when confronted the sales manager he told me do what you have to do I don't know what to tell you. I called the police because it was a gun that was stolen from my truck while it was in their possession and reported it they also tried to accuse me of lying that that the gun was not in the truck. After that incident I never received a single phone call to follow up if I ever found my gun or the police state either it was just brushed under the rug. I would not recommend this dealer whatsoever to even buy a pack of gum off of them. All-around experience was terrible because they never really resolved any of the issues just did what they had to do until my warranty ran out. If I was you I would look elsewhere before thinking about even driving to this dealer and even wasting your time. More
