I thought long and hard about posting this review. I don't like to leave negative reviews about businesses but I feel like this dealership did a lot to earn this review. I just made my 2nd purchase f I don't like to leave negative reviews about businesses but I feel like this dealership did a lot to earn this review. I just made my 2nd purchase from the North Coast Auto Group, my first purchase was a Mustang that I bought at the Bedford location back in 2017. That was a good experience and so I thought that I would give them another shot, even though I'm located all the way in Pittsburgh. After researching their website for a couple weeks, I found a truck that I was interested in. The truck was located at the Akron store. Bedford is closer to Pittsburgh so I made an appointment to bring in the Mustang to trade it in and purchase the truck I found, a low mileage Ram 1500. They agreed to get the truck from the Akron store and bring it to Bedford. I called to confirm my appointment prior to leaving Pittsburgh before making the long drive to Bedford. Just as I reached the state line, they called me from Bedford and told me that they didn't have the truck and that it was in the service department at Akron and "not ready for sale". Since this sounded fishy to me, I called the Akron store and was told, "yes we have the truck and it just completed service". They told me to bring in the Mustang and we could work a deal on the truck. I made the long drive to Akron and ultimately bought the truck. Here are my gripes: First, the price I paid for the truck was considerably more than they had advertised the truck for online. I signed the paperwork without reviewing every number so that is on me but an honest dealership doesn't advertise a vehicle at one price and then charge A LOT MORE when you show up. Secondly, if I'm paying $33k for a 7 year old truck, it should certainly have been made "retail ready", this truck has mismatched tires on the front and rear, this should never be done an AWD or 4WD vehicle as the tread wear is substantially different between the NEW front ties and worn out rears. Also, I was never told the vehicle only had one key (minor problem) and NO KEY FOB (slightly more irritating). Also, if not a full tank, could you at least put enough fuel in it to make it back to Pittsburgh? Now for the more serious matters that convinced me to not only leave negative reviews on every platform available to me but I will also be contacting regulators in Ohio regarding the fact that this vehicle is not only not able to pass Pennsylvania State Vehicle Inspection (with only 17k miles on it), it isn't even D.O.T. legal as it is currently sitting. The first thing "wrong" with this vehicle is the radiator is not properly mounted, the mount is displaced and the dealership's "150 point inspection" certainly should have caught this. What makes this vehicle "non road worthy" is the headlights. When I test drove the truck and when I left the dealership, it was still light out so I didn't discover until I was about 50 miles into the return trip that the headlights don't illuminate anything. I actually had to pull over and have my mechanic drive out to meet me near the state line and he mounted aftermarket driving lights on the truck to make the drive to Pittsburgh (rather than having it towed). The headlight housings are so badly degraded that the entire housings need to be replaced, I had a detailer attempt to clean them up but they are too badly damaged and will need replaced ($500, for aftermarket, $1000 for factory) before the truck can pass State Inspection, as it is, it isn't even D.O.T. legal. So now I have a $33k truck (with 17k miles) that can't pass State Inspection. If I paid the wholesale price ($23k) that they had the truck advertised for, I wouldn't care about the deficiencies but if I'm paying more than FULL RETAIL for a vehicle, it should be retail ready. I tried to call the "customer service" number but that always forwards to a voicemail box that "is full and cannot take new messages". I'm hopeful that the dealership will read this and contact me to make the situation More
