Huggins is very personable. They clearly explain their service actions when I take my car in for service. My sales associate was very helpful. Her name is Jackie Schmidt. service actions when I take my car in for service. My sales associate was very helpful. Her name is Jackie Schmidt. More
I went into Huggins Honda today to buy my first car. I was a little apprehensive, because I'd witnessed some truly awful sales experiences my parents had in the past with other dealerships. Instead of a rude, pushy salesperson, Jackie was very friendly and helpful. She answered all of my questions patiently and I left there with a great deal on a new (used) car! I'm super happy with my new Honda Civic and I would definitely come back to Huggins to work with Jackie again. A+! More
Our car purchase at Huggins was the most pleasant we've experienced. We knew with our credit rating that we would be limited in our search. EJ and the staff showed us clean, quality vehicles within our price range. Even with all of the stips for sub-prime financing, they moved us along through the transaction process very smoothly. Communication with each step was great; our phone calls were returned promptly. EJ came in on his night off to finalize the purchase. My husband wasn't fully satisfied with a particular item on the vehicle we were purchasing. Within 30 min, they had a vendor out to fix the problem. It was resolved well before we even finished signing docs. Not only will we purchase another vehicle from Huggins, we will be sure to recommend this dealer to anyone we know in the market for a car. The price of gas was skyrocketing and I was driving a huge truck. Because it sucked gas, I went to Paul and he gave me plenty of choices and I made my choice and we agreed on a very reasonable price. I found a 2007 Honda Odyssey EXL with a 100K mile for sale, so I wanted to get it checked before purchasing. Of course, what is the best place to take it to? Thought to myself: Honda dealership! Well, sale, so I wanted to get it checked before purchasing. Of course, what is the best place to take it to? Thought to myself: Honda dealership! Well, BIG mistake! On Thursday July 14th 2011, I took the van to Huggins Honda dealership (Northeast ) and asked them to run a “pre buy inspection” on the van. They said it will cost $130 and it will take 3-4 hours. They assured me that they will test every single part of the car, inside out and write a thorough report on all problems and how much it will cost to fix them. Long story short, after I received the report and based on the fact that it was a positive one, except a mentioning of timing belt is due for replacement (which is expected). I went through and bought the van. As I was doing the inspection back in Dallas to register the van to my name, shortly after I paid off the price to the seller, the inspection mechanic yells out to me, and said “the van has a major dropping leaking of oil visible to the eye” I felt like I was hit by a truck! I could not believe my ears. He advised to immediately call the dealership back and tell them that they have overlooked that leakage, and they should claim responsibility. I called more than once and got on the phone long time, where all I heard was “We are sorry, but the van had no leakage!” I said it is there!, must’ve been there as I was told by the inspection mechanic, but they replied “there is no way our mechanic could have missed the leakage” I spoke to another manager by the name McHale, even though she was nice on the phone, but refused to admit any wrong doing or mistake on their behalf and was giving no solution. This leak is going to cost me about $1700.00 and if Honda had done their job properly, I would have backed off the deal or asked the seller to fix the leakage. I bought Van and paid so much money for it, mainly based on the report released by Huggins dealership, which has no mention of any oil leakage, and Huggins dealership would not claim any responsibility or provide any solution. The least I accepted from Huggins is to accept that they made a mistake, apologize and fix the problem, but they weren’t even willing to admit the mistake they commited. “Accidents become mistakes if we refuse to fix them” More
We bought from Huggins because of honest and open customer service. It was truely a "no haggle" experience. We were given a price by email, which was honored at the dealership without question. I had a pre approved loan from a finance company for $14,000 for 60 months and they referred me to Huggins Honda saying they do a lot of business with them and they would have the used car in the right $14,000 for 60 months and they referred me to Huggins Honda saying they do a lot of business with them and they would have the used car in the right price range. I went online and looked to see what they had to offer. I filled out the nag screen with my personal info and I received an email from Winnie Nguyen thanking me for my interest in a Honda Element and that she would work up a quote. I replied to her letting her know about my pre-approval and that I was looking for a used car. No reply that evening. I also die the Auto Trader instant trade in on their site that tells you how much they will offer you for your trade in. That offer is good for 72 hours. I was pleased that it was over and above what I still owed. Today, I get up early, get all my papers together and head from Dallas to North Richland Hills. About 5 minutes away, I receive an email from Anna Byrd replying to my email and letting me know they would "work hard to earn my business" and give me "top dollar" for my trade in. She wanted to know what time I would be in so that her managers would know when to expect me. Surprise! I was pulling in at that very moment! I pulled up and there was a guy waiting at the front door for me. I told him I had received an email from Winnie and Anna. He directed me to Winnie, I introduced myself and she said "Oh yes" and stated that she was aware of my online submission. I told her again who the finance company was, she walked over to the internet, pulled up my name in that finance company's database and then said she would be right back. A couple of minutes later, she brought me and passed me off to Brook. This is where it turns bizarre. He shakes my hand and then starts firing off questions about what I am looking for. I asked him if Winnie or Anna had relayed ANY of the info I have already submitted and he said "I know nothing, don't assume I know anything, because I don't" He kept sighing as I RE-explained my situation...pre-approved, used car, $14,000, etc.... He's clearly aggravated with me but I'm not sure why. He asked questions about what the finance company would do or not do and I told him, the only thing I know is pre-approved, $14,000, etc... He says "Welllll, I'll do what I can to help you, (heavy sigh, shrugging of shoulders), (very insincerely). I said "Do you even want to sell me a car because it sure doesn't seem like it.?" He didn't think I would be able to get much of a car for that amount and pulled up the internet as he sighed as if I was wasting his time. At one point he told me he was on the "internet" team and that he works from appointments. I clearly didn't have one, maybe he's OCD and it aggravated him that I just walked in off of the street. I was telling him that I had been looking at Kia Souls but that it was hard to find a used one. He then he tells me I should go to Kia Moritz and talk to his friend. LOL I finally agreed just so I could get out of there. It was so awkward and I felt like he was treating me like a sub standard human since I didn't have A1 financing and he wasn't going to sell a new car and make a big commission. I left there and then I called Anna, (whom I never even saw) and told her what happened and that I felt like if you guys didn't want my business you should have just told me. Not turn me over to Brook so you could run me off. It seemed like the whole thing was orchestrated. It was like they said, Nope, let's get rid of this one. It will be a waste of time so let's sick Brook on her and he'll be rude and obnoxious and get rid of her so we can deal with the A1 people. She said to email her about it and she would let her manager know. Whatever! Like that's gonna happen. I am sure she was in on it too. Man, nothing like being made to feel like a loser so early on a Saturday morning. So unless you have A-1 credit, I wouldn't advise you to go here for a car! Not unless you like abuse. I am telling everyone I know and posting this everywhere I can so that the word gets out. Honesty would have been nice...they could have just said "Ma'am, we appreciate you bringing your business to us but we don't have a lot of cars in stock that would fit your needs. Perhaps you should make a couple more payments on your car before trading it in so you have some more equity and come back at another time." I would have respected that a whole lot more. Oh and Brook, you really should wash up after the cigarette breaks because you reek! Hey maybe that's why he was so irritable, she interrupted his smoke break to deal with me. Hmmm.... LOL More
