I normally do not go out of the way to write a review but my experience was just that bad. I was looking for a great dealer around the area with my wife. We already had the car in mind and was set to go, all my experience was just that bad. I was looking for a great dealer around the area with my wife. We already had the car in mind and was set to go, all we need was the perfect price and dealer for future maintenance and repairs. I went on google and searched up a dealer close by, and Rogers was one that caught my attention right away because of it's great reviews. After communicating with their internet staffs, I was sure that everything was set because they gave us an awesome price. I contacted the internet sales person that I would in on so and so date. We stopped in and asked for him, the receptionist contacted him, but we waited 15 minutes but was not helped. We went back to the receptionist and she was shocked herself that he didn't come down either so she paged another sales person to assist us. To finalize things, they did not have the car that we wanted that day so a test drive was not setup. After a week, they contacted us saying that they had a car similar to our criteria. We went in, went for a test drive and the car was great but it wasn't the car that we originally asked for. We talked to the sales person, and told him what the price was that the internet sales person gave us. After showing them the price, the sales person said that he would have to ask for approval from the manager. He came back with another sale person, trying to twist the words of the email message saying that the internet sales person did not have enough knowledge so thus why there was a miscommunication. It was obvious that we were not happy campers because it seems to us that they were backing out on their offer. We discussed for a little more and came to a compromise that it would be $2000 more but it was still a good price from the knowledge I know of what the MSRP was on the car. We agreed on the price and told them that we were willing to do a down payment on it but they refused because they told us that they will not have the car in our criteria even if we waited. They told us that the car was in such a high demand that no dealer in the surrounding states would have it. It was getting late and they were closing soon so the sales person told us to call him Monday morning to talk with him regarding about doing a search for the car. I called Monday and asked. The sales person told me he was a bit busy and call back tomorrow. I said okay and called back the other day. He said will do the search for me and call me right back. The day ended again, and still no call......I got fed up and started looking into all the surrounding dealers in Illinois. I found 2 dealers where they said they had the car that I was looking for, I even asked them to go to the car directly to make sure they had it in stock. I called back the sales person in Rogers and asked him what happened to the callback that day. He responded saying that he was not able to find the car and I told him I found the car, and they had the car at so and so dealers. He told me he said he will ask his manager to "TRY" and work with them but he said they do not like working with those dealers much and it would be hard to do a trade off. After a long tug of war, I came to a conclusion where this dealer is just a lot of BS. Why did I wanted to stick back with this dealer so badly? It was because it would be more convenient for my wife if she need maintenance for the car. I hope everyone else does not have the bad experience I do with this dealer. More
I had a positive experience at Rogers Auto group. I was very impressed by my salesman, Mike. He obviously loves what he does and believes in the cars he’s selling. We dealt with Anthony Parilli and he was extremely helpful and persistent. He will work with you non-stop until you walk out of the door completely satisfied. He is so good that he even worked with and convinced my mother to purchase a vehicle for herself as well. We both walked away happy and certain that we made the right decision. Anthony Parrilli is definitely the person to see whenever you want to purchase a new or used vehicle, no matter your financial situation. He will work things out so that they are in your favor every time. Great customer service! More
I bought my first new car from here. It was a pleased experience. When other people were busy, Anthony welcomed my girlfriend and me. Since I just come to US 2 years ago, I know little about the car pu experience. When other people were busy, Anthony welcomed my girlfriend and me. Since I just come to US 2 years ago, I know little about the car purchasing here. He is very honest and patient. When I show my interest in 2012 Hyundai Sonata. He offered a enjoyable test drive. He gave us lots of suggestions about financing car. He also helped us to pick a cost-effective insurance plan. When we made a deal and started to pick up the car. He spared the additional time in showing us the detailed instructions for this Sonata model. I really appreciate his work! I also would like to thank Ivan for his help in my licence plate. We had a good chat and he is very nice and knowledgeable! Qiuyao 01-12-2012 More
I can't begin to explain how much fun I had here. The sales guys are fun to have a conversation with, or at least my salesman was. He asked me a couple questions then proceeded to show me a couple cars. sales guys are fun to have a conversation with, or at least my salesman was. Beware! This review is for the sales department. Shorter version: They have poor customer service and are dishonest. We were misled multiple times and no one cared to communicate with us in a timely manner version: They have poor customer service and are dishonest. We were misled multiple times and no one cared to communicate with us in a timely manner regarding not being able to find the car we wanted. If you are promised a new Hyundai Elantra here in 1-2 days, don't believe it!! We were jerked around and given different accounts from different staff there; they couldn't keep their information consistent! We shook hands on a deal with Kevin Benavides, put down a deposit to find our car, and we never got a car from Rogers. We will take our business elsewhere to a place which deserves our business - one which is run honestly and cares about its customers. If you can't count on someone's word and a handshake, what can you count on?! Longer version: We went for a test drive and were told by Kevin Benavides that it should be no problem getting us the Elantra we wanted within 1-2 days. We began comparing prices at other dealerships and found Rogers to have the lowest price on the car. We returned and spent about 90 minutes there discussing pricing but still were weighing other options. We then received a voicemail from Kevin (still have it saved) a few days later stating he tracked down 4 cars like the one we wanted. So, about 2 days later, I went to Rogers and talked in person again with Kevin. We shook hands regarding a final price, I put down a deposit, and Kevin stated we'd have our car in 2-3 days. Three days later, I was worried that I wouldn't be driving my new car home that day, as I had been planning, since we've heard nothing from Rogers at this point since the handshake. We had made plans to switch car insurance, info at our parking garage, and info for my workplace's parking lot based on having the new car that day. I then called Rogers that afternoon and got Kevin's voicemail. I then called Kevin's cell phone; Kevin states it's his day off, so there's nothing he can really do about the car then, and I should call the manager at Rogers. Wow, you care so much to ensure we get our car that you don't update us before you take your day off that our car is not in? Glad you were able to have fun on your day off and not have a care in the world, unlike us. We would've been understanding if he kept us in the loop if there were delays in getting our car, or if he admitted he made a promise he couldn't keep, but ignoring/forgetting about us and not being truthful/realistic is unacceptable. I then called manager Derrick the day we were to get the car, and Derrick states it is "impossible" to get the car we want, and we can call to get our deposit back the next day. He didn't even try to offer any solutions to the problem (ie offering the same car in a different color at the same price), so it felt like Rogers just didn't care to keep our business because we were actually trying to get a good deal for ourselves. I called the next day, asked for Derrick, and was told it is his day off! I'm curious why we weren't offered to get the deposit back via the phone the night before.. They continued to jerk us around! I then called and talked to Kevin and another manager, Brian. Brian asks us to wait 24 more hours, and though they can't promise anything, he would try to find us our car and may have found one in Kansas City. We're told they could "go over Derrick's head." Nice, they throw each other under the bus. We're told we would be called either way by 3pm the next day. We're told they are even having a "meeting" about our situation at the dealership. 3pm the next day rolls around, no phone call at all that day from Rogers. It was probably Brian's day off! Funny enough, Brian called the NEXT day (24 hours after the deadline he set) and reports Hyundai just doesn't frequently make the Elantra with our preferences (he just figured that out now, almost 2 weeks after our initial visit?!), but to compensate us, he would offer us the upgraded preferred package at "LITTLE to no extra cost," but it would still take a few more days for that car to come in. Note he didn't say "no extra cost." Do you smell a bait and switch here, too? He probably didn't know (since they don't seem to communicate well) that I had already had gotten the deposit back that morning, and we would never consider trusting him or anyone there. More
