I bought a 2013 Pathfinder from Mossy Nissan in National City and began to experience transmission problems shortly after my purchase. After taking it in for service, I was repeatedly told that the car had City and began to experience transmission problems shortly after my purchase. After taking it in for service, I was repeatedly told that the car had over inflated tires which was causing the shaking and jerking. Finally, after the fourth visit the problem was properly diagnosed. Still I was not satisfied that the transmission had to be replaced on my brand new car. A transmission being replaced is a major safety and performance issue. I decided to talk to the Sales Manger Jossue Rangel to see if he could help, but he seemed more interested in making a profit then satisfying a customer. Needless to say this is the last Nissan purchase I will make and I'm going to discourage my family, friends and anyone I meet from purchasing any Nissan product especially from this location. More
I call their customer service policy bait and switch. I have never been so dissatisfied with customer service in general. This dealership did not emulate what Mossy Nissan represents in their advertisement have never been so dissatisfied with customer service in general. This dealership did not emulate what Mossy Nissan represents in their advertisements As a first time car buyer, I did my due diligence by test driving cars and finally came across the 2013 Nissan Altima SV. Their sales representative had their sales pitch of trying to get me to drive the car off the lot and I could not get the car cheaper. And if I wanted I could take the car home for 5 days and return it if I don't like it anymore. I am not a compulsive buyer, so I decided to sleep on it. So I start to do my research online and end up on http://www.autotrader.com finding the same car for two thousand dollars cheaper than what Mossy Nissan offered. This put the price down to $22,689 for the same 2013 Nissan Alima SV; however it was located in Duarte, CA and a different dealer by the name of Performance Nissan. I would certainly make the two hour drive from San Diego to save two thousand dollars. I email my sales representative about what the Performance Nissan offered me and he decided to take it up to his manager, Kim Yuquimto. Kim took it up to his manager and got the approval they needed to give me the car for $22,500.00. I have this all documented in my emails. They knew the specifics of what i needed. I wanted a pearl white 2013 Nissan Altima SV with charcoal interior. Upon agreement I tell them I am coming in. I tell my sales representative certain days I could be available and I find out that Sunday did not work for him because he was off. I end up making the extra effort to come in on October 25th despite my busy schedule. Joshua Rangel calls me on my way there on October 25th at 6:01pm and confirms my appointment that I just made less than 30 minutes ago with the sales rep. My mother who was sitting next to me heard Joshua confirm that I wanted a pearl white Altima with charcoal interior. I get there expecting to get out of there with the car, otherwise why would I be there. I already test drove the car previously and negotiated the price. I get there and my sales representative has me test drive again the 2013 Nissan Altima SV but with the convenience package. The sales representative said, the car is in storage and I could get it out in 10 minutes. We finish test driving and sit down at his desk. The sales representative tries to tell me to finance the car with Nissan, and play with the banks money by refinancing it a month later with my bank. I could then take advantage of having $500 off and my first month free and in less than 30 days later I could refinance my car. I think about, "what is the catch?" After that I ask him, "If I change my mind I can still take the car back in 5 days like you previously said the other day right?" and he switches up his answer no you can't because that only applies to used cars. There goes strike one. I have him confirm with his manager because I remember that specific statement, and now a few days later it changes to no. He then tries to give me the pricing on the 2013 Nissan Altima SL with the convenience package, which turns out to be around $26K. In my head, I thought I already knew what I came for and don't try to get sold on this. The sales representative then finds out "the car is no longer there." And that we have other cars. We give you the 2013 Nissan Altima S (which is the lower model) for $22,500.00 also or you can buy the 2013 Nissan Altima SV with the convenience package which cost $26K. I call that tactic bait and switch. They knew what I was coming for, and they tried to up sell me on other cars or give me a lower model for the same price. The worst thing you can do for me is waste my time and be dishonest. If they did not have the car in the first place, why have me come in? If this was a great dealership, they should have had the car I wanted ready for me to close the deal on. I thought that was what they were in business for. Second, don't waste my time, they should have been honest in the first place and tell me that the car was not in the lot. I would have came back in three days if the shipment was supposed to be there then. They chose a different route to waste two hours of my time trying to sell me on another car. I give Joshua Rangel the situation and basically gives me the, "I wasn't part of the deal, and I did not know what car you wanted. I was just confirming your appointment." My heart sank when he stated this. How could someone be so dishonest. He specifically confirmed I was coming in and confirmed the car I wanted. I know that dealership records their conversations. I hope they listen back to it on October 25th at 6:01pm. An apology would have sufficed versus being dishonest. That was the cherry on top for me to not ever deal with Mossy Nissan - National City Blvd. Lesson learned do your research. Don't let people be dishonest with you and try to sell you on false statements. More
The services adviser has tried to help me out right away. Technician took a look at the car and test drove it while I was waiting. He found a problem ( which was just loose pin ) and fixed it right away. Technician took a look at the car and test drove it while I was waiting. I test drove a 2008 Nissan Versa with CVT this past Sat.April 12, 2008. Loved the car, went in to "work the numbers" We reached an agreeable price after about four hours. I said I needed to think abou Sat.April 12, 2008. Loved the car, went in to "work the numbers" We reached an agreeable price after about four hours. I said I needed to think about it and work it out with my insurance. I received several calls from the salesman ( a friend of my best friend) and I was told that the incentives offered to me today would only be available today. I finally agree to come back in and purchase the car. As I am preparing to leave, I get a call stating the car in the color I desired is not on the lot. I can choose from an onyx blue or a white one. I choose the blue one and asked if it had the same features on the car I test drove. Well, it had some but not all. I had a sinking feeling that I was instore for a BAIT and SWITCH! And that IS exactly what happened. The car they proposed to present to me, which was still not on the lot and in storage, was the base model!!!! And then the sales manager had the audacity to tell me that I could get a car on the lot for a much higher price, and it would only cost me about $30 more per month, and that's only $15 more per paycheck!!! When added up that car was 2000.00 more dollars than what we had originally negotiated. And I was going to put $1000 down. So where was my gain? I am still steaming from this horrible experience. I have told MANY friends and strangers about this horribly outrageous experience with this dealership. I advise anyone wanting to do business with this dealership to be very careful. A Very disappointed consumer! More
They're the only game in town (San Diego). Took my Altima in for an oil change and to find out what the shrill raspying sound (did I mention "loud") sound coming from the front wheel was. Service man Altima in for an oil change and to find out what the shrill raspying sound (did I mention "loud") sound coming from the front wheel was. Service manager listened carefully to me, then tried to sell me $900 worth of fluids change -- brakes, a/c, auto trans, etc.! I declined. When I returned several hours later, the oil was changed, but they said they werent able to hear the sound -- which shrieked out as I turned the wheel to drive the car off the lot. The fluid change must have been the thing to sell that day! More
They did not have a car on the lot that I was interested in, but their computer showed 3 such cars at nearby Mossy dealerships (within the same system). The salesperson refused to tell which dealership woul in, but their computer showed 3 such cars at nearby Mossy dealerships (within the same system). The salesperson refused to tell which dealership would have those cars, or even to take me there - instead, they wanted me to wait for an hour for them to bring the car over!

Extremely unhelpful.
