In July 2024, I took my Ram 2500 to Morehart Murphy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Durango, CO for a serious safety issue: the engine was intermittently revving on its own, sometimes causing the truck to a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Durango, CO for a serious safety issue: the engine was intermittently revving on its own, sometimes causing the truck to aggressively lurch. I had video evidence, but the service advisor dismissed it, saying he couldn’t diagnose from a video. I explained the videos were supplemental, yet he authorized a repair unrelated to my concern. He praised himself for a quick fix, but the issue persisted immediately after I left. I sent another video showing the problem continuing. He told me to bring the truck back, but I had already left Durango for a prior commitment. I expressed frustration that he had confidently claimed the issue was resolved without addressing my actual concern. He tried calling, but I missed it due to poor service. He then texted, “I’m not playing this game,” implying I was avoiding him. His tone was condescending and dismissive. I filed a formal complaint with Chrysler. When the service advisor and I later spoke, he opened by referencing my complaint — a comment that felt like an attempt to guilt or intimidate me. He emphasized how hard he’d worked to return my truck quickly, as if speed mattered more than resolving a safety issue. He said it bothered him that I didn’t appreciate his efforts and told me not to return to the dealership. Since then, I’ve heard multiple similar stories about this service advisor, and about others being banned after raising concerns. The fact that he had the authority to ban me — and that the dealership backed him when Chrysler investigated — speaks volumes about Morehart Murphy’s leadership. It’s troubling that the Chrysler Corporation doesn’t seem to have more oversight when safety is involved. I then took my truck to Advantage Dodge in Farmington, New Mexico. Their team took my concern seriously, reviewed my videos, observed the issue firsthand, and acted immediately. It turned out I needed a new engine — it was dangerous to be driving the truck. Advantage Dodge provided a loaner vehicle, while Morehart had made me pay for a rental. Chrysler later reimbursed me, recognizing Morehart Murphy’s mishandling. The truck was still under warranty, so the full repair was covered. The contrast between these dealerships couldn’t be clearer. Morehart Murphy dismissed a safety issue and punished me for speaking up. Advantage Dodge listened, acted, and ensured I was safe. Morehart Murphy never followed up, apologized, or acknowledged the severity of the issue. Their refusal to take responsibility and decision to ban a customer over a safety concern shows where their priorities lie. This wasn’t just poor service — it was reckless disregard for customer safety. I strongly recommend avoiding Morehart Murphy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Advantage Dodge earned my trust through integrity, responsiveness, and doing what’s right — the kind of dealership every customer deserves. More
I had to have my GMC Canyon (diesel)repaired in Denver at Foundation Chevrolet, where they said that my oil was 1.5 quarts overfilled and that the result was damage to the NOX sensors. I notified Morehart Mu Foundation Chevrolet, where they said that my oil was 1.5 quarts overfilled and that the result was damage to the NOX sensors. I notified Morehart Murphy GMC service of this, since they had done the last oil change, and they responded saying that the engine oil had been topped off or diesel was leaking into the engine causing an increase in oil volume. I know that the oil was never topped off and I decided to see if my oil volume increased after Foundation Chevrolet changed the oil several months ago. Go figure, their xx excuse was false as the oil level has remained constant. The Morehart Murphy service said that they weren't able to overfill oil in an oil change and the dipstick was checked after an oil change. Well I strongly disagree and see that they would never admit their probable culpability. On top of that the Morehart Murphy Regional Group provides no way to file a complaint beyond the shop that has no incentive to respond to problems. I have to question the overall quality of service, responsiveness to problems and ethics of at minimum the GMC service segment. More
On 11/27/24 we called Morehart GM dealership inquiring about a used 2013 GMC Yukon Denali. Elliot the salesman said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. He said it had been gone over with a fine-toot about a used 2013 GMC Yukon Denali. Elliot the salesman said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. He said it had been gone over with a fine-tooth comb in their service dept. He was supposed to send us photos of the vehicle Weds. evening. We never received them until Fri. morning. That's when Elliot sent us a photo of the right front bumper indicating some damage and that it was only a "scuff". It was not, it was actual damage. Minor, but damaged. He indicated that he didn't want there to be any surprises, but he should have disclosed it on Weds. when we first inquired. We asked him if there was any other damage, and he said no there wasn't. We called 2 body shops and sent photos of the damaged bumper and what it would cost to repair. It was anywhere from $800 to $950. That wasn't a deal breaker, but we wanted to have the dealership take that amount off of the sales price. We traveled 220 miles one way from Walsenburg to Durango to test drive it. When we arrived, we had several more surprises. The windshield was chipped and cracked, the rear bumpers had very noticeable scrapes and scratches, the rear tailgate window heater defrost wire connection was pulled off the window. The dash was cracked in two places. Upon having a mechanics shop do a pre-purchase inspection at our expense, they found the oil cooler lines needed replacement, the rack and pinon assembly was leaking, an axle shaft oil seal was leaking as well. After bringing this to the salesman Elliot's attention, he would not come down to a reasonable price. We were extremely disappointed and unhappy with this dealership and their non- disclosure and lack of transparency about this vehicle's issues. We make the trip for nothing. Had he been more transparent of all the issues, we would have not made the trip in the 1st place. Buyer Beware!!!!! More
I have bought 3 BRAND NEW vehicles from Morehart MURPHY in the last 3 years. A 1500 ram, Jeep Grand Cherokee and a jeep gladiator. There sales people have been good to work with but there service departmen in the last 3 years. A 1500 ram, Jeep Grand Cherokee and a jeep gladiator. There sales people have been good to work with but there service department is the worst I have ever seen at any dealership. One more example, today at 1130am Jan11th I called them to schedule an appointment to rebalance my tires that are 35” and to do an alignment . The Lady in service said the soonest would be the end of February for both. I told her does not buying 3 Brand new vehicles in 3 years count for anything? She then told me we don’t balance any tires that are not factory. I called Advantage Chrysler in Farmington NM and they said bring it in now and they would have all completed in a couple of hours. I did and they had both items completed as they promised and did a really good job. Again I spent over 100 grand cash at Morehart Murphy in less then 3 years and that is the appreciation I get meaning no appreciation. I don’t know how that service department stays in business. I highly recommend Advantage Chrysler in Farmington even if it may be a little farther to drive to. More

Check engine light went on in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler today. Sought an appointment and was told the earliest available appointment was October 20th. No effort to reassure me that it could wait without today. Sought an appointment and was told the earliest available appointment was October 20th. No effort to reassure me that it could wait without damaging the vehicle. No effort to accommodate a need prompted by a warning light. The first trip to the service department led to a 2 hour wait to get a key fob programmed, the second trip led to a 7.5 hour wait to get a light fixture replaced! This is the most miserable dealership to deal with EVER. HORRIBLE service on the Chevy side. First: took my truck in for glow plug replacement. Called three times throughout the day to see if anything had been done with my truck and finally 8 hours later, got a call back that they had done a diagnostic exam and found that I needed my glow plugs replaced when that was what I had told them when I got there. I asked them to pull up my history in their database as I had done one bay and not the other the year prior and they told me they didn’t have a database (which I later found to be untrue) and tried to tell me I needed them all replaced. So they told me they didn’t have the parts and I picked up my truck. They charged me a diagnostic fee when I never asked them to do a diagnostic, as I knew what was wrong. When I had them do the $300+ of work to replace glow plugs, my diagnostic fee was not credited. Second: I took my truck to my mechanic for a service light on. Diagnostic came back EGT sensor was bad. My mechanic went onto Chevy’s website to find that there was an EGT recall on my truck’s model and year. I went to Morehart and brought the paperwork with me that my mechanic printed online. They told me that although it was outlined including MY VEHICLE, that my VIN was not a part of the recall even though an obvious issue with THAT part was identified and mine happened to be bad... they smugly told me “well trucks wear out and parts break.” I let them know that I would not be coming back and they seemed happy to see me go. I have purchased two vehicles from this dealership and am in the market for another and will never ever buy a vehicle from them again. I want to warn everyone to not go here either!!! They don’t stand behind anything they do!!!! More

When my wife (a physician) went to this dealership to buy a new SUV she was asked “well that’s what you want but what is your husband going to let you get”. Misogyny should be in the name of this place. I a new SUV she was asked “well that’s what you want but what is your husband going to let you get”. Misogyny should be in the name of this place. I tried the service department and not only did they steal things out of my truck but they didn’t do the work they were suppose to do. Worst dealership in the country. Will probably turn me away from dodge pickups all together - no matter what - we will NEVER use this dealership again. More
